I really like the game. I just disappointed because cavalry doesn’t score the gol.
Great game, great venue. Great family experience and we loved cheering on the local team. We will go again.
The Cavs played hard against a determined Edmonton and the pressure lead to 3 great goals, showing they were indeed the deserving winners of the Wild Rose Cup which was presented at the end of the game. The win also clinched 1st place in the fall season for the Cavs. Well done Cavs!
My nephews were super excited and it was a good game
Went with my kids. We loved stomping our feed with the rest of the crowd every time there was a scoring chance. Give yourself lots of time to park.
Game was awesome, venue is perfect, beers are pricey but the energy was great and we thoroughly enjoyed...would go again!
So excited to finally able to come and watch our first game!! We have been so busy all summer with our own soccer tournaments, out town holidays the timings were always off to catch a game! So proud of our Calgary Calvary Team!!
The stands were full of energy. The team played very well. Loved the game. Couldn’t quite hear the speakers for the announcements.
Yes they lost. They tried so hard never giving up. All the members of Cavalry FC can hold their heads high. First year in the league beating a first division team to make the semis. I think that all the fans were and are 100 percent behind them. Thanks for the great effort so proud of you.
The game itself was quite excitingand so happy we now get this level of play in Calgary now! However, can’t believe how little lighting they have on this field! My daughter plays soccer in Calgary and when late games, they have many poles with lights. How can they have such little lighting (1 pole) at this level? We could hardly see the ball later in the game and neither did the players I’m sure! Unacceptable at this level! It reminded me of golf when they have a later finish and players can hardly see the ball, except a golf course can’t really get lights, soccer fields can! Parking logistics is a disaster, both times I went there, it took us forever to exit onto the highway so unlikely I will go back there for a game! Only possibility would maybe be the shuttle from Bridlewood station I just looked at! They need to sit down and figure out how they can improve parking logistics and lighting at this field if they want to keep the fans going!
The experience was amazing. There is an authentic club atmosphere on game days, The team lost 1-0 to Montreal of Major League Soccer in a game the home team dominated; a great performance . The fans are noisy and fun. The calibre of soccer is very good. Lights would have helped towards the end of the game. Tommy W, the coach, deserves enormous credit. I hope Calgary will come to games in even greater numbers to help the club grow. Very importantly, my wife really enjoyed it.
First, a decent level of play that was probably heightened by the fact the Cavalry were playing an MLS team. Although with so many corner kicks (12+) the Cavalry still couldn’t score. Speaks a little bit to the quality/level. Now, the venue. A Big Rock beer/cider in a can for almost $10? Seems ridiculous for this level of football/soccer. Food offerings were decent and varied. The main grandstand is covered. Great for inclement weather. There are two video screens, but they just show the score. No video screen to see replays or any detail about the game itself - who scores, subs, etc. You wouldn’t initially think this would detract at a live game, but it totally does leave you in the dark at points. At this level one should not expect it, but with today’s technology it should be something they implement soon if the league continues. Although the major issue is lighting. They have nowhere near the amount of lighting that is required. Maybe they weren’t originally contemplating evening games? Either way, the second half was played in the dark. The lighting is only on one side of the field and really just lights up the players benches. In the end, I won’t go see another evening game and I definitely will not be buying a drink, but not a bad attempt in the first season.
Amazing team fan spirit worth goi g to see a match
Free bus to event was awesome, great facility, great seats could not have been better. Had a awesome time well done.
Getting in and out of the facility was long and congested but the game was great
The game was fantastic to watch. The only thing that I would say Spruce Meadows should supply is access to drinking water. People should be encouraged to bring empty water bottles that can be refilled and water dispensers should be available throughout the grounds. I only found one dispenser and it was empty. I was told that someone was coming with more water, but after 15 minutes, I left.
The action was very fast. The Cavalry FC put on a great show. They looked equal to the Whitecaps. The fans were loud and proud.
Awesome experience. The field could be better, but the game and the ambience was excellent
We had a great time at the game however be prepared to pay $10 on site to park and an arm and a leg for food and drinks. The seats barely have a back on them so if you cant sit up straight for 90+ minutes, be prepared to leave very sore. Imagine sitting on a stool for a few hours.
The entire event exudes quality! Great atmosphere, beautiful venue and some exciting soccer!
