    best concert ever!

by looney on 2009-10-30Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

From the beginning to the end of the concert, it was amazing. My favorite song was the final song before encores "You lift me up". That song has helped me through treatment for cancer and I am so glad they sang it. Each woman has the voice of an angel. Thank you for touring.

    Outstanding

by Joustingdude on 2009-10-29Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

This was my first time seeing Celtic Woman live and I am blown away at the awesomness that was this show. I have a profound respect for the entire ensemble as they were bang on for every number and made each piece feel as if it was their personal favorite. I can't imagine how much energy it must take to maintain that "freshness" with such a grueling tour schedule... but I'm sure glad they were able to muster the mojo to pull it off. Aside from the ladies, who completely rocked the house, I was particularly impressed with the percussionists, they really worked their tails off throughout the entire show. Bravo! To Lisa and Chloe (as if they ever read these things, but just in case)... much love ladies and thank you for a great evening :-)

Celtic Woman: Event of a Lifetime

    by freefred77 on 2009-10-15Fargodome - Fargo

At 60 years young I have been to quite a number of concerts and events; however, this one topped them all. Yes I am Irish and love Celtic folklore but these 5 talented ladies and their backup singers and accompanying musicians were at their best last night. The smoothness and blending of one song into another was masterfully done and the stage choreography remarkable. I was spent by intermission and could not believe the energy displayed in this 2.5 hour event. The variety of songs (not all Irish) all blended in well to the Isle of Hope theme; namely the immigration of Irish to America. The talented voices; beautiful violin playing whilst performing ballerina moves was absolutely awesome. I must also mention that we as an audience were most appreciative...not one flash from a camera in 2.5 hours. If you ever have a chance to see Celtic Woman at a performance, DO SO - their beautiful haunting voices and powerful melodies will be forever etched in your mind and soul.

Celtic Woman was great but they've been greater

by CanuckScott on 2009-07-13Kravis Center - West Palm Beach

I am a big fan of this group, both with their original members and the new (though I admit if Lisa or Mairead left, my heart would break). Prior to the 2009 tour, the last time I saw them was in 2007. This show was very good, but I felt lacked more of the Irish element that I first enjoyed. The first two albums were a nice balance of Irish vs non-Irish tunes, and I recall that even the non-Irish tunes actually sounded Irish when they sang it. I felt their current playlist leaned more towards then non-Irish element and while some songs worked, others not so much. I admit that it must be a challenge to constantly come up with new material to keep the shows fresh ... and they are definitely succeeding to a point, just not 100%. Is it a show worth seeing ... most definitely. Was it as magical as 2007 ... no it wasn't. Will I see then again ... yes I will. I have faith in the ladies ... they put on a great show.

    Celtic Women was terrific!

by Puddin on 2009-07-12Paramount Theatre - Seattle

My impression was this group should do a return engagement but do it with Celtic Thunder as a joint effort, I think this would be unforgetable. What a neat concept. I would book my tickets asap if this concert could be created. Both groups are terrific and I look forward to future events. I would love to see the ladies in different dresses as they did not do any changes and in Shane Castle I believe they did.

Celtic Woman - Over the Top!

by anewfan on 2009-07-12Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I went to the concert with mixed feelings because my husband was the fan, not me. By intermission I tearfully had to admit it was a very moving performance - just when I thought I was emotionally full to the max another song would stir me even more - I felt like the important events in my life were totally known and being reflected back to me with empathy. I was impressed by the generosity of all the performers - encore after encore - it was a fabulous evening!

    musically and visually amusing

by tian on 2009-07-11Paramount Theatre - Seattle

For those who are a fan of the Celtic Woman, the Isle of Hope show was not only better than the recording, it was also visually overwhelming. Being a sound engineer in Vancouver, I've been surrounded by a lot of great musicians and have seen magic happened in the studio. We always look for the best performance with the best vibe. The Celtic Woman has achieved both with no doubt. Witnessing each and everyone of talented ladies in the group giving live to their music, seeing their passion expressed not only through their heavenly voices but also their facial expressions, their body languages had made the event unforgettable for their audiences.
