  • Fantastic!!!

    by Rockerboy1 on 2014-03-01Rogers K-Rock Centre - KingstonRating: 5 out of 5

We were totally impressed with the group Chicago. Their professionalism and energy on the stage was amazing. They sang all their hits and some new songs which were very impressive. We felt like we went back in time and were listening to our old Chicago album's. (they were that good!) The crowd really got into it, and the band was having a great time. One of the best bands we have ever seen!!!

  • Tremendous energy and instrumentals!

The songs were great and the instrumentals added a great deal to the performance. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the music. Would be nice to see in an outdoor venue.

Chicago was superb. Unforgettable big sound with unexpected solo tours de force and signature jazz-Rock crossover stuff. Best in their world. The guy who does the Peter Cetera songs is a brave man. He almost nails it, and who could blame him for not being perfect. He was great. Great games played all night by Trumpet Trombone and Sax guys. They spun off each other. It was perfect.

  • Disappointing

My hubby and I went to the concert on Wed nite, had great seats and were looking forward to the show. The opening act, Tim Stop, came out and was very good, not to mention quite funny. Then the main act appeared and things went downhill from there. Their current lead singer, while talented, tried too hard to perform the group's standards the way they'd been recorded - he just doesn't have the voice of the original lead singers. The musicians were all very good individually, but sounded disjointed when they performed together. The only bright spot was in the lead keyboardist who performed one song, a solo, before the intermission. It was amazing. After an hour and ten minutes full of otherwise average performances, they announced the intermission. We left and didn't return. Perhaps we expected too much, but I don't think I'd go to another Chicago concert, nor recommend it to someone else.

  • Chicago - Great concert!

    by Kingstonmusiclover on 2014-03-01Rogers K-Rock Centre - KingstonRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely a great concert by Chicago. To think that these guys are still performing with such enthusiasm and energy is amazing. Thought it would be a fun night and a chance to reminiscence and it was definitely that, but so much more. These guys are very talented musicians and entertainers. So glad I went. If you have the chance to see Chicago, then do it.

What a fantastic show they put on! This was my fourth time seeing Chicago, and they were better then ever! Can't wait until they come around to my area again!

  • Better with time

    by Majmac on 2014-03-01Rogers K-Rock Centre - KingstonRating: 5 out of 5

I saw this band in Vancouver in 1973. They were amazing then, but even better now! Horns, drums, percussions, vocals...all magically moulded into one tight beautiful sound that is so uniquely Chicago.

  • Chicago was great

    by Fannap on 2014-03-01Rogers K-Rock Centre - KingstonRating: 5 out of 5

It just kept getting better as the night wore on. The music was not to loud where you could not here them sing and it did not hurt your ears. They made the music where they blended right in which each other and never drown the others out FANTASTIC GROUP.

Their collective and individual performances were off the chart! They did a fantastic job their musical skills well honed and reflected all the years of their music creativity. Our thanks to them for coming to kingston and hope they will return.

  • Good Sound, But...

by SaskatoonSwisher on 2014-02-28Budweiser Gardens - London, OntarioRating: 4 out of 5

Being a long time fan of Chicago, following them from the '70's, it was exciting to see them live. The band can still rock and the sound is still as pure and authentic as they have always been. In fact they sounded as good live as they do on their albums. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met with the singing of lead vocalist Jason Scheff, who was continually off key and way too loud. Although he has been the replacement for Peter Cetera since 1985, and was hired to mimic Cetera's original sound, it's very surprising how little he actually sounded like the original. We were very surprised by this and sadly we found that every time he sang vocals the memory of the song was tainted for us as we hoped for better. Many times it was like he was screaming. "Saturday In The Park" for example, was sung by another vocalist and was very close to the original. The band and their sound was excellent, and sounded like they came right out of the '70s. Great horns, percussion, and smooth integration of the instruments was amazing. The show was very good, had a good set list of memorable hits, but again, a small disappointment with the overall show was with Sheff's vocals. But then we thought what can we expect after the longevity they have had, as things certainly have changed. I would recommend the show if it comes to your town and you want to reminisce!

  • Best Live Concert i've ever seen

by ChicagoFan on 2014-02-24Credit Union Place - SummersideRating: 5 out of 5

To put it simply, Chicago had put on the best live show of any band I've ever seen. There was so much energy amongst the members and they know how to play and sing. As usual, James Pankow was excellent, Robert Lamm is simply a legend and Jason Scheff, who had big shoes to fill replacing the one and only Peter Cetera, hit all the right notes with his amazing voice. I especially loved the solo performance of "Will You Still Love Me?"

  • Outstanding.

If the chance was available, would have gone again the next day to see the same show. Unbelievable, ranks up there with the best shows of all time.

Awesome show. Like a fine wine, they get better with age.

  • Chicago put on a great performance

by Rolande on 2014-02-24Credit Union Place - SummersideRating: 4 out of 5

Overall the show was terrific. Slow to get started as the music was too loud and we couldn't hear the words. Into the second half of the show, it was much better. We were disappointed in our seats - we had chosen seats directly in front of the band, with an end aisle seat for my husband (leg problems). We were upgraded to "U" section - we were not pleased with these.

What a show! Chicago is a powerhouse band of brass, woodwinds, guitars, keyboards, drums and unforgettable songs from a decades-long career. The concert is about 2 1/2 hours of nearly nonstop music..(one well deserved 20 minute break.) The guys are having so much fun up there it is impossible not to get caught up in it all. And its great to hear all their classics live: Does Anybody Really Know What time It Is? Saturday In The Park, you're the inspiration, Colour My World, 25 or 6 to 4, Hard To Say I'm Sorry and so much more. Fantastic concert!

  • Chicago was awesome!!
