  • Chicago was classic!!

by Stargazer59 on 2010-08-29Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 4 out of 5

What a show!!! I have watched shows in large arenas, small venues and clubs. Watching these icons in an intimate theatre was unbelievable. Their enthusiasm and vigour has not been diminished over time. Well rehearsed, presented and perfect timing of all members was classic. The horn section was worth the ticket price alone. The little things added by the percussionist and of course the harmonies of all the band members was classic. One disappointment was their signature song "If you leave me now" being sung by someone who won the honour from a charity bid on their website. \this is a great cause but one would have thought they may have replayed it in their encore which I think we all thought. Would see it again!!!!

  • Chicago is still great

by MrZigzag on 2010-08-29River Rock Casino Resort - RichmondRating: 4 out of 5

River Rock casino has the best rock room in BC...Chicago played for an appreciative audience that reflected the demographic of the first album's release date....old hits handled well...only weakness was lead vocals ... hard to replace someone who is an archetype of the band...enjoyed it thoroughly

  • Chicago the experience

by SharonO on 2010-08-29River Rock Casino Resort - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

I love going to a concert where I know the words to every song and the band is up there smiling away and enjoying the experience every bit as much as the audience. These guys love what they do, and they perform at the same level as they did years ago.

  • Awesome show!!

by Waylo on 2010-08-29River Rock Casino Resort - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Chicago came out (on time!) and wowed us with a huge line up of all their hits from the Chicago Transit Authority days right up to Chicago 17. People we dancing in front of the stage from song 1 and by the end of the concert, everyone in the stands were on their feet, clapping and cheering and singing along. They did a full hour and a half and then came out with 3 more songs for their encore finishing in a big way with 25 or 6 to 4. Brought the house down!! I would highly recommend this band!!

  • Pretty good...

by daddydave on 2010-08-29River Rock Casino Resort - RichmondRating: 4 out of 5

Nice to finally see Chicago!! Show was about 1hr 45min.. Highlights: played alot of the classics that we all came to hear; Saturday, Anyone know what time etc would have liked to hear more though... I felt their sound really missed Peter Cetera though & sometimes felt a bit like a cover band. Now I'm not some huge Cetera fan but I felt his voice was sorely missed. The Bass/ vocalist who was taking his place was ok but, well... You'll see what I mean...cuz well hey, you still should see this iconic band. The Riverrock is a really good venue. 7 out of 10

  • Chicago - August 27

by OscarsMom on 2010-08-28Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

The band and the music was fantastic. They are certainly well worth going to see and they played all the music we wanted to hear.

  • didn't sing popular songs

by celestino on 2010-08-28Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 2 out of 5

chicago didn't sing their hit mellow songs which i was hoping to hear and paid for. Their lead vocalist (the one who plays the bass guitar) sung badly. Nowhere near Peter Cetera. The group should replace this guy.

  • chicago the best rock and jazz band

by locovan22 on 2010-08-28Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

Chicago is still one of my favorite bands, they are the best rock and jazz band in the whole world. Last night concert did bring good memory of my years at junior and high school back in my native land EL SALVADOR. It also did bring me memories of my early days of being a Radio DJ at the end of the seventies.

  • Chicago concert mainly for diehards

by grad89 on 2010-08-28Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 3 out of 5

If you grew up in the 80's listening to Chicago you won't hear many of your favorite ballads at this show. The band seemed to be reliving the glory years pre Chicago 17 and left the rest of us who waited in vain to hear "Will you still love me" out in the cold. The few Chicago 17 songs included we're condensed into a medley of sorts. On the flip side, the women jiggling their 50+ something bodies by the stage seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely, so perhaps I'm in the minority

  • Best Rock Concert Ever!!

by Bebe2 on 2010-08-28Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

They played all the greatest hits, making the whole concert enjoyable and nostalgic.

The concert was super!!!!! They started on time and kept the audience clapping and rocking all show. The big sound was great to hear and experience in person. You can see why they have been a music staple for 40 years. Great hear all the old favourites in person!!!!!

  • Chicago/Doobies Fantastic

Just saw the Eagles & Tom Petty, both great fabulous shows but these 2 bands together on one bill has to be the best concert I've seen............ AWESOME Show.

  • Chicago still #1

by tedz on 2010-07-16DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Chicago remains an original and exciting group to see in Concert as I have done over 40 times in the past years. The switching of lead vocalists and the staging are always fresh and add to a great evening of truly unforgettable songs. Bill Champlin's replacement lent a very different sound but he was great. The addition of a percussionist was spectacular and led to a delightful drum battle with Tris Imboden.I

I'm 63, my husband is 74. This is the first rock concert we've ever attended and we had a wonderful time. The music was amazing, the venue incomparable. Instead of buying classical CD's, my next purchase will be Doobie Brothers!

by Stonewall on 2010-05-28The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 4 out of 5

The event location was the best i had sat through. Seats were comfortable, the visual excellant. departing and finding the way out of ceasars was cumbersome. the band was very good and enjoyed it very much..A good attempt by the band to replace Peter Cetera, but not the same.. We will be back at ceasars for another show..
