Claire Rosinkranz turns idyllic days of a teenage summer, road trips, post-school adventures, and the butterflies of young love into breezy alternative pop anthems. Picture road trips with no destination. You float through waves at the beach, and drive windows down on the PCH. You watch the stars in the cloudless night sky with best friends.
These scenes could easily comprise a montage for a nostalgic coming-of-age flick, but they also provide fodder for Claire Rosinkranz's 2023 full-length debut album, Just Because [slowplay/Republic Records]. The 19-year-old gold-certified Southern California singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist captures all of the joy, confusion, anxiety, and wonder of growing up through 13 tracks set to a soundtrack of gleeful guitars, lo-fi production, and chantable choruses under the California sun.
In 2020, the then-16-year-old gold-certified Southern California singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist emerged as a smart, sharp, and savvy voice for Gen-Z with her independent breakout "Backyard Boy." It amassed more than 1 billion total streams, and was RIAA-certified Gold.
She maintained this momentum with fan favorite EPs BeVerly Hills BoYfRiEnd [2020] and 6 Of A Billion [2021]. Along the way, she collaborated with Jeremy Zucker, ROLE MODEL, Clinton Kane, Hauskey and Aidan Bissett in addition to touring alongside Alec Benjamin and Dermot Kennedy, and packing out her own headline shows and festival sets.
Beyond praise from The New York Times, Billboard, HYPEBAE and more, Claire garnered the MTV Trending VMA for "Best Breakthrough Song." On her 2023 full-length debut album, Just Because [slowplay/Republic Records], the now-19-year-old Claire captures all of the joy, confusion, anxiety, and wonder of growing up songs set to a soundtrack of gleeful guitars, lo-fi production, and chantable choruses under the California sun.
