Born Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr in North London, his first musical love was hip-hop. Despite knowing that he wanted to pursue a career in music from an early age, Bakar. became more serious about the passion when he branched out his style into indie rock. In 2017, he released a handful of singles including "Big Dreams" and "Something I Said," that caught on in the underground music scene in London. A year later, Bakar. released his full-length debut project Badkid, which earned critical praise from London musical icons and kingmakers like Elton John and Skepta.
