  • Numb but not deaf.

by OldieLover on 2013-02-04The Opera House - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The band was great, once they started (about an hour late). Next time, I will buy tickets at the door - $25 instead of the $45 I paid a few months ahead of time.

  • Comfortably Numb Shines On

    by Avalon58 on 2013-02-04The Opera House - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

As always this band always puts on a great performance of classic Floyd songs. Everything from Arnold Lane up to The Wall. The female vocals on Great Gig in the Sky are spine tingling. Very tight band, very enjoyable show.

  • Outstanding!

A wonderful band, with an amazing frontman. The female singer was truly spectacular - these two carried the band all night. The singer and the female singer controlled the entire show and their performance was stellar. The bassist, drummer and male keyboardist were very good and kept up with the pace that was given. I thought the sound in the theater was excellent and they had a fabulous video and light show that were conducive to this venue - I didn't leave blinded - why do these other floyd bands think that blinding their audience or lights that just flash all night is pink floyd - what about mood etc? Comfortably Numb had it all! I also really enjoyed the interaction with the audience too, this made for an exciting night, again not just a flashy light show to hide behind. I will go again.

  • BRILLIANT!

    by Ashley27 on 2012-03-01Museum of Civilization - GatineauRating: 5 out of 5

An absolutely wonderful night. I could not have asked for a beeter evening out. I actaully think they under-charged for the show as it was worth 3 times the amount (don't tell them that tho as it saves us the money for an amazing band - some of these other groups could learn a thing here) I loved it all, the singer is an absolute babe and not hard on the eyes at all - and yes the singing and guitar work were incredible! As a 27 year old music teacher I can tell you that this guy can play for REAL! The entire band was excellent and I simply adored the entire show. Well done to Comfortably Numb. I am now a fan of this band and any band the singer AK is in.

  • Great show, great band!

Many people like or dislike tributes. I am one that was not particularly fond of them as I have been so disappointed with some of these other 'big shows'....that is until I saw this band Comfortably Numb. I saw both Friday and Saturday night shows as I was a guest of a friend who is big fan of theirs and I was brought out. My intention was to go Friday and not Saturday but after the Friday show I was totally ready for Saturday. The lead guitar player and singer was absolutely amazing, his vocals and guitar playing simply left me with Goosebumps. I LOVED the way he interacted with the crowd and especially when he brought up people to sing another Brick in the wall part 2 (there were a few people that were dressed up in costumes - HARD CORE Floyd fans!) His connection with the audience was REAL and constant ALL night and I felt that he was performing for each person individually - quite something to watch. Guitar work was like watching Gilmour in person and yet channeling Waters!! Being a big Animals fan I loved hearing these songs and they took risks like playing Echoes (all of it). The audience literally cheered on every song. The female in the band has an outstanding voice and was truly remarkable. The bassist, drummer and keyboardist were good too and together they delivered a memorable show. I have seen some of the other big acts but this is THE ONE to see!

It was an awsome show. Not enough interraction with the crowd but still really awsome.

AK is truly amazing!!! His guitar is impeccable and he has a great singing voice. It is also soothing to hear him speak. All the band members are very talented as well. They play Pink Floyd to a T. I would have preferred a different start to the performance, but once they started playing the LP "Animals" they just got better and better. I would have liked to see a laser show with that but maybe next time they will include it with their concert.

  • Pink Floyd, I mean Comfortably Numb was awesome

by mepl on 2012-02-27Canadian Museum Of Civilization Events - GatineauRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Pink Floyd on three occasions over the years, I have also seen Comfortably Numb three times. If you close your eyes and listen, hearing this band is just like being in front of Pink Floyd. They add their touches as musicians, but the quality at some points even exceeds the original band!

  • Just ok...

by FloydFan2012 on 2012-02-27Canadian Museum Of Civilization Events - GatineauRating: 2 out of 5

For $45 a ticket my expectations were somewhat higher than I'd have for cover bands that play in bars - so I feel justified in saying that I was not wowed by Comfortably Numb's performance. Although the music was realtively practised, there were some seriously flawed 'oopses' in several songs, the lead singer is just ok, and the female backup vocals were not on key for 75% of her parts. This show left me wishing my guest and I spent the $90+tax we paid for ticket prices on something else. Sound guy was, again, 'just ok' -- he could have mixed the acoustic guitars a LOT better, but instead they ended up sounding thin and tinny - like a cheap guitar. Lighting and effect were a huge letdown. 6 swirly red lights, a few bright white ones, and the main spots -- NOT what your average Floyd fan is expecting (where's the laser show?!?!?). As for video footage - highly underutilized projection system -- the feed was also formatted for 16:9 instead of the tiny round screen (you coould see the video bleed off into the curtains). Also - they hardly used the screens - and when they did it was tiny clips of Pink Floyd licensed material. Bass player, male keyboardist, and drummer are all top-notch pro's... they are the ones that made the show bearable. Bassist sings some backups, and when he does, it makes the show MUCH better. All in all - I won't go to see this band EVER again at $45. Sure, maybe I'd pay $10 cover in a bar - but for $45 a seat -- I'll pocket the cash & listen to my albums. The show picked up a little near the end (and so did the audience - thank god, it was like being at a funeral for a while). They *did* do a few good tunes with no noticeable mistakes -- but by the end of the show, I was more than ready to leave.

CN, boys rocked the show, have to say it was a great performance, if you are a PF fan then I felt not only comfortably numb but welcomed to the machine. Seen Aussi Floyd before Christmas, now the Cdn Boys and in 2 weeks will see the Brit Floyd in NB... judgement day is coming.

    by MichelleAndy1971 on 2012-02-15L'Astral Music Hall - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

Just saw Comfortably Numb in Montreal on Saturday and can they ever rock the house. My first time seeing them and what a show !! I've seen other Pink Floyd tributes in Montreal many times and I must say Comfortably Numb is probably the best I've seen in the last 5 years. CLEAN SOUND is all I can say. The band sounded incredible. Nice venue, 2nd level balcony seats were perfect. Going to see Comfortably Numb in Gatineau now at the Museum. Can't wait !!!!!

An excellent show with great sound in an intimate venue. The band was excellent and they did an amazing job of "Great Gig in the Sky" but they played it too early... they really should have built up to that rather than playing it right away. I would definitely see the band again.
