Me and my group of friends really enjoyed the festival. The music, and lighting was amazing. I never thought I could party that hard!!! It was my first time going to BC place and I was happy with the check in process, coat check and exiting the venue.
So happy contact is back in Vancouver!!!!! It was a great venue and the artists were awesome. I hope that contact will continue in the future
Contact 2019 was the best way to end my year. It was my first time at a rave, and it did not disappoint. The people were insane, and the show was fantastic. I enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely a worthwhile experience, something I can cherish forever. I did lose a couple pairs of earbuds, but thats my fault haha.

Can’t wait for Contact 2020!! This was my first year participating Contact so I hope contact 2020 will have a better lineup.
Day one was ok was kinda chill the small side stage went hard on day one but mainstage wasn't great was cold in there and major lazer was kind of disappointing. But day 2 was alot of fun there was way more people better performances and better energy had a super great time.
Day 1 was very underwhelming, the lineup wasnt nearly as good as day 2. The main stage location change was also a major disappointment and massive downgrade from the past following years. They really need to work on getting an equally exciting lineup for both days and CHANGE THE STAGE BACK TO WHERE IT WAS.
Second year we went. VIP is the way to go, however for the price we should get a few more perks like other festivals o for their VIP. Merch discounts etc.... regardless contact is a great time and as i said VIP is the only way to go.
The main criticism I have is that the after parties put out this year were bland and not very interesting. I wasn't at Friday's after parties but Saturday's Commodore experience was boring with the same genre (tech house) being played non stop with no fresh takes on the music. Also the visuals seemed like stock animation that kept replaying over and over again.
Been going for years, and despite the major headlining acts, I've never walked away feeling fulfilled. The big acts seem to only give a half effort, there's really nothing special or good about having BC place as the venue, and they're strict on drink rules (but I probably can understand why with the crowd demographic the festival attracts). Some positives though are improvements in lockers, coat check, and security screening times. Some acts still take you to that magical place you wish for.....but overall, the festival just won't be what a real edm fan is looking for
It takes forever to wait for a bathroom! It takes forever to wait to have a 19+ wristband! It takes forever to get a drink! You know how many tickets you sold and therefore should prepare more human resources and more efforts in order to reduce waiting time for customers like that! And it's the most non-sense thing ever when you have to get in line twice for the same purpose - Getting a drink. Why would you do that? You should just sell people drink after they have been checked for their ID and 19+ wrist band. It literally takes you 2 more minutes but it takes us 30 minutes to get in line again and wait from beginning. And what is the point of the 19+ wristband anyways while you can only get 1 drink per person, it takes an hour to get a drink and on the second day you have to get another 19+ wristband??? It's honestly the worst idea anyone could come up with. There is no value in it but it just makes the matter worse. Set up more drink booths and the problems solved! Set up more public bathrooms and the problem solved!
Liquor line ups were ridiculous, only served one drink each person. When asked to pour little or no mix with the alcohol employees said they had to mix the beverage and the amount of juice or mix was to the top of the cup. Many people got I.D’d multiple times which was not necessary for liquor causing holdbacks. What’s the point of getting a wristband if ur going to get checked at security and id’d at the bar again. In my experience the bar was a joke.
The preformers were great but the venue was subpar. Started my night waiting in line to get it. Which isn’t bad, I get it security is important. Then I waited to get a 19+ wristband to buy drinks. Then proceeded to wait in line for 20-30 mins each time for only one drink. (Changing the limit from 2 to 1 drink really wasn’t great.) I bought two drinks that evening because I was so tired of waiting in line. I also didn’t get the point of the 19+ wristband and waiting in line for that if they were just going to ID you again once you got up to the counter to purchase a drink every single time. It was nice having the outhouses down in the main area for extra bathrooms all though there was still a line for that each time I went. Also the outhouses were really gross.. and filthy inside. The main floor standing area was filled with bottles, spilled drinks and garbage.. which I guess isn’t the venues fault. But multiple trash cans and recycling containers near where we were standing were full so they had overflowed everywhere onto the ground. I didn’t even want to attempt to go get food because I felt it would just be another waste of time to stand in line for 20 minutes and miss more of the performances. Overall I enjoyed spending time with friends to see the performers but lots of waiting around.
i was told by the staff that i was unable to retrieve my lost phone until Jan 2 at Celebrities, why was i unable to view if you guys had my phone that same night?!!??! secondly, music during day 1 was too mellow
Enjoy the music the costumes and the people meet so many people that are having a blast ...being with your group of friends for a good two days of music ... just the vibe gets u dancing feel the music vibe...
Overall I give this festival a C. Enjoyed most of the artists. Beer prices were ridiculous. I chose not to tip because I did not feel that the bar service was good, but i found out later that the server altered my receipt and took a few extra dollars from my credit card. I though that was really low and deceitful. Enjoyed most of the lineup but Tiesto's set was a bit tired. Had seen him 2 times in the past at different venues and was hoping for newer material. Overall experience was fair, considering that this is Vancouvers biggest EDM festival, would like to see improvement in the future. I paid for the VIP tickets, seemed like the venue was not sold out. I think if the ticket prices were a bit more affordable, they could probably fill the stadium. Should be about the music, and less like a cash grab. Food sucked, was overpriced. Felt that Vancouvers food truck industry might have flourished here, otherwise please offer better food. It was terrible.
I came for the music, I left with a new outlook on life and a new friend. I met the woman of my dreams here.
This is my 2nd year going to contact and it seems to get better every year , for some reason this year the party felt short but the experience was amazing it was by far the best thing ever !! I’m hoping next year the party will be a 3 day event ! The party needs to be 3 days long from now on 2 days is just a tease .
I smoke pit should be allowed for 19+, outside venue for vape, cigarettes and weed. Would remove a huge part of security and help people in crowds who want to avoid smoke, stay away from it!
I love contact but I dont like how the stage was so much smaller this year... the lights used to be amazing but this year it was mediocre.. KASKADE AND TIESTO WERE AMAZING THOUGH
