Counting Crows are a Grammy and Academy Award-nominated rock band that have sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Behind popular singles “Mr. Jones” and “Round Here,” Counting Crows’ debut album August and Everything After (1993) sold 7 million copies and peaked at No. 4 on Billboard 200. The sorrowful, roots-driven vocals of singer Adam Duritz transcended the alt-rock charts with 1996’s Recovering the Satellites. Counting Crows was the worst concert I’ve ever been to. They sounded terrible and we could hardly resocgnize their hit songs, the few they played.
Opening band was a couple of young electronic guys. Good beats and interesting to hear what the kids are listening to these days. Wish TM would have told us there was an opener and when to expect LIVE as we wouldn't have come at 6:30 had we known. LIVE was ok, just ok - vocals were great, sound was great, but little stage presence. Counting Crows was terrible! Lead is well past his expiry date. Doesn't even sound like any of the studio recordings. Decent stage presence with nice anecdotes about some songs, but really poor vocals lacking emotion, creativity, or expression. We left early.
Incredible show! Service and hospitality in the Amex lounge was outstanding and made the evening extra special.
Absolutely outstanding. Can't wait for them to come back so we can see them again.
Were amazing!!!! The band was on point sounded fantastic
We were so excited to go see Live and counting crows to relive our youth. Unfortunately, counting crows was terrible! While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the band before the concert, I know enough of their songs to be able to enjoy a concert of theirs. Plus I love live music so really, anything is great! The lead singer said at the beginning of the concert that he decided he just wanted to talk. And that’s pretty much what he did! It felt like he thought he was this artistic poet, but it just didn’t work! Especially in a concert full of hundreds of people. It felt like he thought he was this artistic poet, but it just didn’t work! Especially at a concert full of hundreds of people. He really brought the audience down. There was no energy. People all around us were talking and disengaged. When he finally did play their well known popular songs, he sang them differently so it didn’t feel like we were listening to the real song. I would never go see counting crows again. I’ve never seen so many people leave a concert so early! Live, however, were really great. The lead singer was totally engaging and you could tell he was putting all his heart and soul into his performance. people really responded and seemed to enjoy it. They should have been the headliner. I would recommend that Live finds another band to tour with. They’re too good to be with counting crows.
Felt like the sound was too low that you could barely hear the vocals and there was lots of talking between songs
Counting Crows and Live were great. Would love to see again. This venue is great when the weather is nice.
I liked the stories he told between a few songs but given that this was my first time seeing them after loving them for decades, I wanted the popular songs to be sung just like they were on the albums, and he can do it — his voice is there, 100%. The band was totally “on” but he took way too many artistic liberties with the melodies of popular songs, including “Mr.Jones” and that broke my heart. I understand he’s sung them millions of times and is, perhaps, bored with them, but for me, the fact that he missed the first two lines of “Mr. Jones” and did weird melodic deviations with other major hits, like “Round Here” was disappointing.
We were really looking forward to this show because we grew up on Counting crows. There was a huge lack of effort from the lead singer Adam, most of the time he was standing with his hand in his pocket and looked like he'd rather be somewhere else. He pointed to the audience to sing most of his parts and changed the timing of the lyrics so it was almost impossible to sing along. Adam's stories were nice at the beginning, but then he started telling them in the middle of the songs, it completely ruined the flow. The band sounded great and that's why I gave 3 stars. The first time in our lives we left a show half an hour before it ended.
We were really at the show to see Live. They were good but we could not hear very well. I don’t think they had any speakers working. It was like that for all bands.
Very difficult to hear in the law seats which is the first time that has happened to me while being seated in the lawn. Definitely ruined the concert!
I will concentrate on LIVE because Counting Crows were an older sadder version of 2005 When I last Saw them. They need to find their mojo.
LIVE was really good! But Counting Crows might have been the worst show ever! Volume was too low. They messed up the rhythm of many songs. And he kept telling useless stories that no one wanted to hear.
Counting Crows was an awesome show. They were amazing live
Full Disclaimer: I am a huge Counting Crows fan. With that out of the way, if you are the type of concert-goer who wants to hear all of the hits played the way they were originally recorded, you may have been disappointed by the show. If after 25 years of fandom, you are like myself and looked forward to something different, such as a heart-felt reflection on the inspiration of various songs, then tonight would have been your night! The opening act Boom Forest was great and special guests +Live+ rocked the house.
We pay for music to be played, not storytime w musical interludes and spoken word attempts
We loved our moment at the 25 Years and counting ... Live and Counting Crows, what a night! We recommend it!
8th time seeing them. The reviews that say they’re phoning it in couldn’t be more wrong. VIP soundcheck and meet the band was beyond awesome. If you are a fan don’t hesitate.
Counting Crows is my ultimate favorite band and Rob Thomas proved to be a great opening act
