About

Dave Chappelle Live Performance and Tour

Dave Chappelle, mastermind behind sketch comedy goldmine Chappelle's Show, made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy in 2013. While he's beloved for his famous impersonations of Rick James and Prince, Chappelle doesn't rely on old material for his stand-up act, treating fans to an all-original show featuring extensive improvisation as he interacts with audiences. At his 2013 performances on The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, which he co-headlined with Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle had fans rolling on the floor, building anticipation for his highly coveted 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT

Born David Khari Webber Chappelle in Washington, D.C., Dave Chappelle studied theatre arts in high school before moving to New York City to pursue standup comedy. Despite getting booed off stage at the Apollo Theater's infamous "Amateur Night," he remained resilient, going on to make a name for himself on the New York comedy circuit. Following several successful film appearances in the '90s, including a starring role in 1998 cult classic Half Baked, Chappelle debuted his namesake sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2003, finding both critical and commercial success. In 2006 he released Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a concert film set in Brooklyn featuring performances by Kanye West, The Roots, and a temporarily-reunited Fugees.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY

"Funniest live performance I've witnessed to date. You will be quoting Chappelle after the show. I was laughing so hard that it started to hurt. Great show from start to finish."

"Dave...he is a comedic genius and one of the best ever. He was amazing and I wished I could have gotten in line and gone to the second show!"

"He was hilarious. Talked about some of his history and was not afraid to get the audience involved. I had a great time."

Great Show but Entering Arena was Brutal

by LaughingOutLoud on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Arrived at 740p to long snaking lines, didn’t get in until 845p, in my seat few minutes after 9, caught tail-end of last opening act, and Chapelle, if the weather was bad, I’d be really upset.

Amazing show, entry was not organized

by Melanie on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

As always Dave Chapelle was phenomenal. Well worth the ticket cost. Though Scotiabank arena should not have allowed entry in the premium entrance for everyone. there were several entrances for regular seating. People with premium seating should not have had to wait in line outside in the cold for over half an hour. What is the point of having a premium entrance if they aren’t using it properly.

    OFF THE FUCKING CHARTS

by Cait on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

By the end of the 3rd opener, I was spent with laughter, mascara running, out of breath from keeling over in hysterical laughter. Then Chapelle gets Messia-ed on stage like the greatest boxer/comedian of all time, and I just didn’t know how I was going to laugh for another hour and a half, but I did. It hurt so good

    Epic experience

by Superbrowndude on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Sat front row from the stage to witness the GOAT and all his greatness. He brought Rick Ingram and Donell Rawlings. Absolutely amazing experience. Although the staff were confused about where we had to sit, it all worked out.

    Awesome show!

by Cat on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Love that Dave gives no F's and keeps it real. Tired of this soft ass society ruining everything because they're overly sensitive. He spared no one, each and every community was part of his art of thought provoking comedy and I laughed so kuch my cheeks hurt. If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?

    Too short

by Low on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

He was / is funny but he was on stage for a short amount of time. Someone heckled him, unfortunately for most of the show and he lost it on them, made fun of them badly, then got off stage

Amazing experience - Scotiabank Arena Could Improve

by Lan on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Dave Chappelle was incredible! It was quite the experience to see one of the comedy GOATs live. His opening acts were superb as was the production and thought that went into the show. Only providing 4 stars as the staff at Scotiabank were incredibly disorganized. Doors were to open at 6:30 and the show begin at 8, however it appears no one was allowed into the venue until 7:50. It was anarchy trying to maintain a place in line and ensure we got to our seats in a timely manner.

    Great show

by Jae Hud on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The show was great. Chappelle was hilarious. His opener Rick Ingraham had me in tears. So funny. Too bad i missed the opening act because of how disorganized Scotiabank Arena was. I stood in line outside for over an hour in a ridiculous lineup waiting to get in. They took our phones and put them in a sealed bag to hold onto. They did the same for Kevin Hart a couple months back but that was very organized compared to Chappelle's event. I'd definitely see Chappelle again and highly recommend it.

    Great

by John on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Show was really good . Chappelle is a great story teller. Where they lose the fifth star perfect show is the disorganization of leaving your cell phone pouch and Dave felt it neccessary to get into mean spirited argument with heckler in upper deck which brought down vibe

    Enjoyable

by Sandra on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Great evening, performances did not disappoint. Headliner could have performed longer than 60 mins. Too bad 5 mins of his set was wasted on dealing with a heckler.

Chapelle was amazing, audio team let him down

by Vish on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Finally got to see the goat!! He was amazing! Although the sound and audio was very up and down. It was like they didn't do a sound check and the sound was very in and out. At times I couldn't hear him and at times it was very loud. It took away from my experience as I was looking to crossing off my bucket list by seeing Dave Chappelle. Dave was epic, but the audio let me down. And for paying so much for tickets, it's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

    One or the comedy goats

by Black Chynie on 2023-01-04Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Hilarious show with non stop laughs. Lines to get in were a bit chaotic but doesn't hinder the experience.
