Dave Chappelle, mastermind behind sketch comedy goldmine Chappelle's Show, made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy in 2013. While he's beloved for his famous impersonations of Rick James and Prince, Chappelle doesn't rely on old material for his stand-up act, treating fans to an all-original show featuring extensive improvisation as he interacts with audiences. At his 2013 performances on The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, which he co-headlined with Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle had fans rolling on the floor, building anticipation for his highly coveted 2014 tour dates.

Born David Khari Webber Chappelle in Washington, D.C., Dave Chappelle studied theatre arts in high school before moving to New York City to pursue standup comedy. Despite getting booed off stage at the Apollo Theater's infamous "Amateur Night," he remained resilient, going on to make a name for himself on the New York comedy circuit. Following several successful film appearances in the '90s, including a starring role in 1998 cult classic Half Baked, Chappelle debuted his namesake sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2003, finding both critical and commercial success. In 2006 he released Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a concert film set in Brooklyn featuring performances by Kanye West, The Roots, and a temporarily-reunited Fugees.

The show was amazing, the only thing I would say could improve, is a notice about the phones being locked up, maybe even a magnet at the door so we could unlock ourselves. It made for VERY long lines.
Dave Chappelle is hilarious but the show was too short! Should have been an encore for that $$$$$
Show was awesome - hilarious and amazing as always. Issues with the arena - concessions close at 9:30? ridiculous. 1.5 hour wait to get in to lock phones so we missed the first hour of the show - ridiculous AND 1+ hour wait to leave to unlock phones - which we didn't even end up getting done because we went out an exit with no to unlock them - also ridiculous. I get the purpose of locking phones but this could have been handled WAY better and more efficiently.
Needs to be a better system with everyone knowing there seat numbers. We were kicked out of our seats for 20 minutes when we were In Our correct seats. Had to get my phone unlocked to prove it
Show was wonderful, It took forever to get into and to leave the show. Exiting was extremely poor. Some exits were closed off. I assume that is because they didn't have enough personnel to open the bags that your phone was placed in to keep you from recording the show. It was totally unacceptable. Rogers Arena needs to get better.

to date, this was the best comedy show we've been to and recommend to everyone. will definitely see him again, if the opportunity presents itself.
Great show, DC is hilarious, but we had to lock our cell phones for the show which was a pain!
The show was unbelievably funny! From start to finish it was nothing but a party! The phone lock thing was a bit odd but i understand why they did it. Also i had a very annoying couple behind me that wouldnt shut up during the show but other than that it was a fantastic experience
Obviously dave chapelle was awesome. But his 2 opening acts were equally awesome. Laughed through the whole show
The show was great BUT there needs to be better preparation for when the show ends. Having crowds of 2000+ people standing in one space just waiting for their phone to be “ freed” is a fire hazard and let’s not forget those who have anxiety or are claustrophobic like myself. I felt like I was gonna pass out waiting.
I've watched his Netflix series before and its been better
Must have been a sold out show but you wouldn't guess it. Lines to get in and for food, drinks and merch were all super fast. I was a bit worried about putting my cell phone in the case but that process was also super fast. As was it when we left. Really impressed!
Bucket list for me. The greatest comedian in history is an understatement. Amazing experience and I hope Dave comes back soon. Respect!
I am a huge fan of Dave Chappelle and loved seeing him live. He’s a legend.
Dave put on a great show. We were seated in Section 111 and what needed improvement was the arena staff in that area constantly walking up and down the stairs of the section. Especially right down at the bottom where the steps are metal. Very Distracting and noisy! it was hard to hear when this was happening every 2 minutes. It’s a comedy show and not a concert!
Comedy the world needs. A light hearted time of entertainment!
The vibe was perfect throughout the whole show! Definitely will see again the next time around.
The comedy was great, Chapelle is the GOAT, and I support the ideas behind Yondir-but I don’t think it works for every venue, especially large ones. The process getting into and out of Rogers Arena was paralyzing. No one could leave, we were trapped in the concourse. Maybe there wasn’t enough staff or too few exits but if there was any reason to escape quickly, it could’ve been tragic. I’ve been to plenty of busy events and nothing comes close to this problem.
Chapelle is the GOAT of comedy! What a great date night
