About

Dave Chappelle Live Performance and Tour

Dave Chappelle, mastermind behind sketch comedy goldmine Chappelle's Show, made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy in 2013. While he's beloved for his famous impersonations of Rick James and Prince, Chappelle doesn't rely on old material for his stand-up act, treating fans to an all-original show featuring extensive improvisation as he interacts with audiences. At his 2013 performances on The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, which he co-headlined with Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle had fans rolling on the floor, building anticipation for his highly coveted 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT

Born David Khari Webber Chappelle in Washington, D.C., Dave Chappelle studied theatre arts in high school before moving to New York City to pursue standup comedy. Despite getting booed off stage at the Apollo Theater's infamous "Amateur Night," he remained resilient, going on to make a name for himself on the New York comedy circuit. Following several successful film appearances in the '90s, including a starring role in 1998 cult classic Half Baked, Chappelle debuted his namesake sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2003, finding both critical and commercial success. In 2006 he released Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a concert film set in Brooklyn featuring performances by Kanye West, The Roots, and a temporarily-reunited Fugees.

"Dave...he is a comedic genius and one of the best ever. He was amazing and I wished I could have gotten in line and gone to the second show!"

"He was hilarious. Talked about some of his history and was not afraid to get the audience involved. I had a great time."

  • All most perfect show.

by Scopi on 2022-04-26Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Dave Chapelle put on great show as expected. Although I understood the reasoning for the necessity of the phone lockup, there had to be a better way to handle the exiting process.

  • Fabulous show.

There there's not much negative that I can say about the show except the following. This started very late and people were violating the rules around me including smoking and them behaving slightly unruly not to mention people getting up multiple times up to 8 times to go to the bathroom or buy food. Not sure how you can solve that problem

  • The GOAT

by Steps on 2022-04-26Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

He was great. I just wish security pushed more, for people to be quiet and enjoy the show. At times it was hard to pay attention, because people were talking. But Dave Chappell and Jeff Ross were great!

What an in incredible show! Chapelle’s weaving hilarious narrative of his experiences to teach to bring connection and respect was perfection. Non stop hilarity and just unreal experience. 10/10, 5/5, two thumbs up!

  • Greatest comic of our generation

    by DvM10 on 2022-04-26Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Everything from Jeff Ross to Dave was great. Such a great story teller and the way he organizes his punchlines are unlike any other comic out there. Great show!

My friends and I showed up at 9pm for a 8pm show. The first two comedians we saw where awesome, and Dave gave an incredible set.

  • Not a cheap date?

by OrangeMansSon on 2022-04-16Rating: 5 out of 5

Was it because of the exchange rate from or looney to greenbacks that ‘justifies’ these prices? I recommend you grab a working girl and bottle of vodka eh? 👍

  • DAVE CHAPPELLE is a Genius!!

by Culture Concepts Ent on 2021-11-27Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Other than the fact of having the runarounds with our seats. The staff/security took forever to verify that the people who were in my seats, had the wrong seats. Either from that.... The Show itself was worth every dollar. Dave Chappelle and his guests didn't disappoint. Having the phones locked away for the duration of the show, no distractions was something to appreciate. Another one at the ACC. I mean the Scotiabank Arena...lol. GOOD JOB!!

  • Terrible

    by r. t. on 2021-11-24Rating: 1 out of 5

Dave really forgot what his fans want to see? Him. He was on stage maybe 20 min and was great for that 20 min however the movie was incredibly long and also wondered in its theme and point The intentional racially motivated seath of any person should of been the point, not a 1 hour and 45 min of a scheduling a comedy show in “tin buck two Ohio ” Dave get with it. We all have had a challenging last 2 years, everyone in that crowd was trying to forget the last two years You forgot that all those people were there for you as a comedian and a performer 20 min did not cut it I would strongly recommend NOT to waste ur money on this show

  • Great Show

The screening was great and it was two full comedy shows with it, amazing time.

  • Incredible

Beyond expectations. So grateful. I'll never forget it.

  • Not what I was expecting

by Dhakshi on 2021-11-19Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

I knew this wasn't his regular live stand-up and I knew we were we would be watching some kind of movie but I thought the movie was going to be of his stand-up not about covid and black lives matter. Which is fine but I also didn't understand the connection between both in the movie and it was 2 hours long! I just felt that we paid so much money for a movie screening

  • Great event, worth every penny

by Knowhere on 2021-11-19Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best stand up events I have been too. I was surprised Jeff Ross was present, I felt like he stole the show. His stand up was great and his speed roast was even better. I felt that Dave's part was a bit short, would have enjoyed it if I got to seem him more in person. Samjay was great too. After watching The Closer and how Daphne said she was having a human experience, it's great to see Samjay share her experiences to the crowd.

  • Dave CRUSHED it!!

    by J. D. on 2021-11-19Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Dave Chappelle is the GOAT. There is no debate. He smashed the night with a thought provoking documentary, all-star comedians, surprise Kardinal Concert and an hour of some of the best stand-up I've heard. He's the standard by which excellence is measured and we are all fortunate to witness. Long Live Chappelle!!

  • Incredible.

by Andrea on 2021-11-19Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Phenomenal show done by an even more incredible guy. Dave Chappelle is a legend and his documentary was insightful and entertaining.

  • Waste of money sadly

    by S. M. on 2021-11-18Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Hard to justify paying to watch a documentary about covid/BLM in a sold out arena.

  • Chappelle was amazing, the show was great.

by Seniuk on 2021-11-18Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It went well, with the covid screening and security. The no smoking section is just plain ridiculous. Reeked of cigarette smoke in the bathrooms, so people found a way anyways. Guess its better inside then outdoors like it use to be?

  • Depressing
