Dave Matthews Band in Concert

With a career spanning more than 27 years, Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in rock history. In 1991, vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews decided to put some songs he had written on tape and sought the assistance of drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville, VA music scene. 16-year-old bassist Stefan Lessard came on board shortly thereafter. Their infectious, distinctive sound garnered lots of early attention and a die-hard loyal fan base, catapulting the band into one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades.

The group has since released nine studio albums and numerous live recordings, selling a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The GRAMMY®-winning band's many hits include "What Would You Say," "Crash Into Me," "Too Much," "Everyday," "American Baby," "Funny The Way It Is," "Mercy" and "Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)."

Founding member LeRoi Moore passed away in August of 2008 and the band paid tribute to him with 2009's Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. Dave Matthews Band has since welcomed longtime collaborators/touring musicians Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Rashawn Ross (horns) and Tim Reynolds (guitar) into the lineup and - most recently - keyboardist Buddy Strong.

With 2018's Come Tomorrow, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In a Critic's Pick review, The New York Times observed, "willed optimism fills the songs on 'Come Tomorrow,' while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot... each song notes the fears and sorrows it's determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms."

Renowned for their live performances, Dave Matthews Band has sold over 24 million tickets since its inception and ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade. The group's Bama Works Fund, established in 1999, has raised more than $52 million dollars for humanitarian and environmental initiatives.

Our group had PIT tickets for DMB in Vancouver and he put on an amazing show. The only negative thing was that Rogers centre didn’t sell out, but hitch is bogus for DMB. Nevertheless, we had an amazing time.

  • Good...but not great

by Crushed on 2022-11-07Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Don't get me wrong DMB put on a great show...I was however VERY DISAPPOINTED (as were several people in my section) that they didn't perform "Crash into Me"...that's like the Foo Fighters not performing "Everlong"...that was a huge fail.

  • Always wonderful

They always put on a great show and never disappoint. I just missed some of my favourite songs such as #41. But I go see them anytime I'm where they are. Great live act.

  • Great performance, meh sound.

I’ve heard dmb twice at the gorge. Sound was definitely better there. Kinda muddy here. It was a bit of a bummer because such excellent musicians and soloists deserve to be heard. Ochoa was fantastic! Ticketing, venue access, all very good.

  • A musical ride of DMB hits

A great evening of music from Dave and the band on the night of music of Carter's Birthday a great to celebrate with many of his hits such as Grey Street and others including a Led Zeppelin cover of Fool in the Rain it was a great of music thanks for coming Dave.

  • Poor

by CJ on 2022-11-05Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

Wish I could have given 0 stars I’ve seen over 125 concerts and this was one of the worst. People around me seemed to enjoy it but he played only 1 hit and one cover that was decent. I left in the encore (as did others around me) as most the music was obscure and irrelevance

  • Not so good

by AnnieD on 2022-11-05Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

I was very excited to see Dave Matthew Band - I had heard for years how amazing they were, and i enjoyed their hits. Pros: Due to lack of ticket sales, we were moved to better seats. There was an amazing local trombone player for 2 songs - I have never heard a trombone played like that before. Very very good musicians Cons: The sound was muddled, There was no real interaction with the audience except the odd politcal statement and mumbled thank you very much (in lovely Virginian accent) Band seemed to be distracted and not sure what they were doing or what the set was - a lot of milling about between songs like you'd expect with a high school band When I go to see an "older" band, I like to hear the hits and songs that made the band famous - interspersed with new or B side music. However, there were literally only 1 or 2 songs that I knew. Not even Crash was played for the encore. We had a long drive home, and managed to play a lot of hits we knew just to feel like we saw the Dave Matthews Band Personally, I would not recommend this tour unless you are a super-fan who knows all of the lesser-known songs and wants to feel like you are watching an incredibly talented band play as though they are in the garage, working on their songs.

  • Davetastic!

Dave Matthews Band always puts on an amazing show & this one was no different. Playing some of their heavier songs & deep cuts it was a true fans night.

  • Good, not great

by All by Design on 2022-11-05Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

With a library as large as DMB has, not everyone is going to be happy. However, too many of the biggest songs weren’t played. Dave’s interactions also weren’t that engaging. He must have said “thank you very much” about a dozen times or more. It seemed like filler for “the space between” the songs. Last time he played here was epic, so this one definitely left us disappointed.

  • Amazing are always
