Death Cab for Cutie was formed in Bellingham, WA in 1997 and almost immediately entered the ranks of the era's definitive bands, fueled in large part by the remarkable power of co-founder, lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Benjamin Gibbard's complex, often bittersweet songcraft. The band made their worldwide popular breakthrough with 2003's RIAA Platinum certified Transatlanticism, later named by NPR as one of "The Decade's 50 Most Important Recordings." Plans, their 2005 Atlantic Records debut, saw Death Cab for Cutie ascending to even greater heights, earning RIAA platinum certification and a GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best Alternative Album" while spawning the chart-topping singles, "Soul Meets Body," "Crooked Teeth," and "I Will Follow You into the Dark," the latter of which was honored with a GRAMMY® nod for "Best Pop Performance By Duo Or Group With Vocals."

The show was great with two awesome opening acts. Highly recommended!
Besides the masses of obnoxious 12-16 year olds and having to cheer 5+ min for an encore, the concert was pretty great. Death Cab sounded amazing, and put on a solid show. I was also thoroughly impressed with The New Pornographers, and slightly disappointed with Ra Ra Riot.
Enjoyed the concert, the song line up could have had a better layout. I liked four of the songs. Was about to be left completely uninspired, until they came out for the oncore, it saved the event.
The bands were worth going to see. I don't care how crappy the venue was... The crowd wasn't quite pumped enough, and it would have been a bit better if that had changed. The New Pornographers were absolutely AMAZING. I wish they had a but more time to play, but they used what they did have. I also thought it was a little funny that they didn't say who they were... but I guess it's because everyone knows them Death Cab was definitely incredible. They played all of the songs I wanted to hear. Which NEVER happens. They played as if their mindset was "Okay, lets play this one concert, and get the heck outta here." Although they did thank us numerous times for coming, there weren't really many good funny stories or anything. I like to hear those because they make the concert feel more personal. But overall, they played well, it was nice to see them, and I am glad I went :) The security were really distracting throughout the whole thing, which was quite annoying. I just wanted to watch the bands play and they continually crossed my vision
I don't know Death Cab for Cutie all that well, and to be honest, it isn't the kind of show I normally go to. I do know that they are very talented musically, but have not seen them live. The show was great! I got right into the music, drumming along to every song on my lap. I think I am definitely more of a fan now and will get a different feeling listening to their cds.
Man this show was a blast. Just as great as the first time i witnessed them at sasquatch festival 2 years ago. These guys put on a rocking show that won't disappoint you with missed notes, out of key singing, off time players, or artist you just don't care about the performance. It was not stop dead on hit after another, it was a very good flow to the show also, not taking 5 mins between each song to prep for the next one. The also had a fantastic playlist which really hit home to the location they are playing at. Only bummer is that it wasn't longer but hey they power housed right through the show, i would be tired too.
Extremely mellow crowd attended this event, as indy crowds are want to be. The New Pornographers were a little rough, I think they were having sound troubles. That being said, I love the band and enjoyed every moment. Ra Ra Riot were really good and quite interesting. They were very diversified in their music. No two songs sounded the same and each was most interesting. Death Cab was amazing. I didn't know them really well but I left being thoroughly impressed and purchasing some of their pieces. The whole concert was a little mellow for me but I feel I got alot for by buck.
This was my first concert ever and as an 18 year old it is pretty sad but this concert was AMAZING!!! They sounded just as good live as they did on their albums and the way they got the crowd into it was awesome. They played my favourite songs and their opening bands were also very good. The only thing I didn't like was the setting up between then bands which kind of killed the mood butother than that it was fantastic. Death Cab for Cutie, thank you for a fantastic first concert. I am very glad this was my first.
Loved the Emo kids. Set was excellent. Venue was good.
death cab for cutie sounded awsome live and their stage performace overall was really good. but.. they didnt play for very long and their two opening bands (the new pornographers and ...something riot?) sucked. also, the croud was really boring and i think my friend and i were the only two dancing (besides some crazy man on the floor wearing a cowboy hat. but i love death cab, so for anyone else who does two i would recommend you to go see them!
The New Pornographer's stole the show as expected!!
Awesome live. The played tons of their best older songs. Guitar solo of "I will follow you into the Dark" was really well done. Soooo good!
Death Cab for Cutie is a great band!!! I get lost in their music and find myself floating along.
The New Pornographers are obviously unique talented and fun to watch on stage--but it seemed like the volume controls were a bit off during most of the show. At one point certian instruments would be more audible than others--but overall they were great, lead singer was adorable and engaged with the audience well. The girls in the band rocked! GREAT vocals. Deathcab was absolutely perfect. Vocally, instrumentally, visually--awesome. Big energy, more than I expected considering their mellow songs--and really fun to watch them dance around. AMAZING ENCORE best part by far!! Love the lead singer--didn't miss a beat. Wish they would have played Coney Island! But loved the song choice overall.
This band is amazing first and foremost. They write such lyrical lyrics and this show was full of energy. Ben Gibbard kept the crowd in key when he swayed his arms for 'Grapevine Fires'. I'm certainly left with an unforgettable concert experience and braved the heat just to watch this Seattle band. They sound even better live than on cd. <3
The concert was fabulous! I've seen them on TV, but a LIVE show is so much better! If you like their music, then see the show. My entire family loved every minute.
Incredible is one word to describe the performence DCFC delivered last night. You know a musician is giving it their all when every inch of them is covered in sweat. Despite the buckets of sweat, Ben Gibbard sang with plenty of power. Overall the entire bunch was entertaining to watch and all preformed at clearly their highest level, leaving the the audience always screaming for more.
I fell in love with this band while hearing their music coming out of my teenagers room then i saw them back up neil young and was amazed at their talent. then last nite it was confirmed to me what a wickedly awesome band death cab for cutie really are and how so so so so so talented the lead singer is for real
I was thoroughly pleased with this concert. When Death Cab came out it was so legit. I was really pleased with them playing their old songs, as well as the new ones. I wish I could go back and see it all again!
I really liked the concert, and all 3 bands played the songs that i knew and wanted to hear. Except one by death cab which was probably too slow for the show.. I just felt like they were artists, but not performers. It was one of those stand and listen concerts, so being on the floor didnt make any more sence than having a nice comfy seat near the stage in the stands.. Sound was awesome!
