  • Deep Purple and Yes bring their power to Montreal!

by Maureen - Place Bell Laval Qc 12 Oct on 2024-08-31Rating: 5 out of 5

What an incredible spiritual journey that Yes and Deep Purple took us on in Montreal! As a progressive rock and metal city, Montreal revelled in the presence of these monsters of rock! Yes was sublime, delicate and filled with beauty followed by DP who sent us into sonic space and beyond! Every musician is a masterful talent on the stage; utmost professionals! And what a sense of humour Ian Gillan shared with us! An evening of gorgeous and unequalled voices and sounds! One in a million chance to see them!!! Thanks for sharing your music with us! Montreal loves you always!

  • Amazing concert

by Nievesitas on 2024-08-31Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

Old school rock that never gets old. Great musicians, lyrics, and vocals. All human music and no auto tune. Great concert! Yes in the opening act, followed by Deep Purple as the main act. What a great combination!

Would have loved to have them play Perfect Stranger

  • Missed opportunity

by Bobby Vee on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 2 out of 5

Set list was composed of mainly new material. Tons of classic songs let off the set list. Very dissapointing show. Seen them 5 times this far and this one was by far the weakest one.

  • Ok but hoped for older songs!

by Malky on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 3 out of 5

I was disappointed! Good for them that they have new songs but I was really hoping to hear the Deep Purple I grew up with! The opening band “yes” exceeded my expectations!

  • Not enough merch

    by Morty B on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 4 out of 5

Montreal show started early and they've performed one song less in compare with other cities. The sound quality and their energy was Superb. I only wish they were playing more hit songs instead of solos. About merch stands I saw only two stands and they didnt have all shirt sizes in stock. I am sad and I hope to see more later in their website at the end of tour.

Great sounds.. awesome time...only issue was limited leg room for tall guys like me.. important for attendees to try and get maximum space if they are taller for sure...ask for aisle seats or front rows..

  • 3 concerts in 5 days with a distance

by Happy on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 4 out of 5

After seeing both Metallica shows in Edmonton on the Friday and Sunday and leaving the Sunday concert with 2 songs to go neither Yes or Deep Purple disappointed. Travelling from the Yukon and first seeing DP in 1985 these 3 concerts in 5 nights travelling takes a toll. Having the Yes/DP show start at 6:30 was great. Yes did a great gig with only one remaining member and I was glad to see it was longer than the standard back up allotment of 26-30 minutes. Deep Purple opened the show and really got everyone into it at the Bell Centre. The show was fantastic throughout. Price and Glover are still rocking it out and Morse and Airey are wonderful additions. The new album is more like story telling and less musical vocals if any quality. Regardless at 79 years young Gillian is still doing far better than most. All around a great show.

  • Loved band ... always giving it all

by Claude on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing warp into the old days. Considering the age of these guys, they were amazing. Yes who openend were outstanding and their performance went beyond what I expected What talent for both groups You still got it Thankbyou from the bottom of my heart ❤️

  • Fantastic evening with Yes & Deep Purple

by Rolf the German Tiger on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

Both groups, Deep Purple and Yes gave a wonderful performance. It was one of my best evenings in a long time. All these musicians are in their 60s and 70s but they have still much to offer. Having of each band 8-9 longplays I can listen to them again and again after having seen them live

  • Old guys can still rock!!!

by Deckard on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 4 out of 5

My wife and were quite taken by seeing a group of men in their golden years with such energy and doing what they love most. When I was a teenager in the late 60's and early 70's, DP was one of my favorite bands, and seeing them again now brought back some nostalgic memories. Gillan's voice was still powerful and expressive. Tracks like "Lazy"and "Smoke on the Water"showcased is ability to still hit those iconic high notes. The musicianship of the band was nothing short of spectacular. The connection between the band and the audience was palpable. Fans of all ages seemed to be united by their love for DP, and the band's enthusiasm for performing was evident. It was a memorable concert...

  • Still rocking hard !

Very good show ! Only complaints are the length and could’ve played more of their top 10.

  • Underwhelmed

by Ladybird on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 3 out of 5

We were hyped to see Deep Purple. The guitarist and keyboardist were stellar but the lead singer underwhelmed. Aside from speaking well in between songs, his singing was unintelligible. He had awkward and uncomfortable stage presence, out of breath at times, leaving the stage during instrument solos (for oxygen!?). I don't think soundcheck could have made a difference. In contrast, YES, was totally enjoyable. We heard the lead vocals and music clearly. The screen art was interesting and calm, the volume was just right and the players had what felt like a cool and confident energy all while having fun. That was impressive.

  • Excellentexperience

Excellent show, good sound, goo experience… However, the cell phones should be prohibited……terrible to see everybody filming the show….very annoying Thanks

  • Not Enough Classics

    by Pidge0570 on 2024-08-30Centre Bell - MontrealRating: 3 out of 5

I don't get classic rock bands that think people bought tickets to listen to their new stuff. I get that it is probably tedious to play some songs over and over again after 54 years, but that's what he audience pays for. Sounded great but many staples of a DP concert was missing.
