About

Def Leppard are a hard rock band from Sheffield, England and one of the best-selling music acts of all time. The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 with the current lineup of drummer Rick Allen, guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen, frontman Joe Elliott and bassist Rick Savage as well as former guitarist Pete Willis and late guitarist Steve Clark. Since forming in 1976, Def Leppard have released 12 studio albums, including their 1980 debut On Through the Night and 1996’s Slang, the first full-length effort featuring the band’s ongoing roster. Def Leppard are one of few bands to notch two diamond-certified albums, for 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria, which both peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard 200, respectively. Overall, the band have earned eight Top 10 albums led by 15 Top 40 singles such as “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Animal” and the 1988 Hot 100 chart-topper “Love Bites.”

Cheap Trick were ok but when Poison came out the place started to rock hello 80s we are back again and finally Def leppard came out what can i say those boys have still got it pour some sugar on me there is nothing else to say

  • Def Leppard too short!

by Kwas on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Great performance by a great group! A little disappointed that the concert was cut short (only 1hr 30mins long) by the Symphony of Fire fireworks display which started at 10:30pm. It was clear that the band wanted to keep playing, and the fans were wanting more, too. Otherwise, great playlist of classics, as always.

  • Def Leppard Rocks!

by lepfan on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I thought that Def Leppard was great, the sound was not as loud as I'd hoped, but in all fairness I was on the lawn. I will go see Def Leppard every time they are in my area!

  • Def Leppard and Poison were awesome!

    by Angel1p1 on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

So I missed part of Cheap Trick because getting to Ontario place totally sucked. But conisdering when we got there everybody was sitting during their set, I'm thinking they weren't that great. I was great listening to the "oldies" with Poison and Def Leppard....I had seen both live before and they still have it ! Yes, they may be older and maybe a bit slower, but it was definately a great night....people were standing and signing....too bad the show couldn't last longer due to fireworks planned on the same night....that's poor planning! So just one encore song :-(

  • Rock Of Ages

by kcswimmer on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to a few concerts, but Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick were absolutely fantastic. I had lawn seats, but they were comfortable. During Cheap Trick, I was able to relax and do some tanning in the sun, while listening to some sweet tunes like Dream Police. By the time Poison rolled around, the Amphitheater was packed. People were dancing and singing. Every Rose Has It's Thorn, was the best. Everyone had lighters in the air. Then, the show began. Def Leppard, rocked the roof off. The stadium came to life with singers, dancers, cheerers. It was the Rock of Ages concert.

  • Words cannot express how awesome Def Leppard was!!

by angels on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best concerts I've ever been too!! Cheap Trick came on strong getting everyone primed up for Poison(which by the way is one of my favorite all time rock bands). When Poison hit the stage it was amazing! Brett sounded awesome, the boys still have it!!! They total blew me away!! Then Def Leppard came on and totally brought the house down! These guys really know how to put on a show. I would definitely do this one again and again!! Thank you Def Leppard, Poison and Cheap Trick for an awesome night! Angels

  • Def Leppard Still Rocks!!!!

by purplehippo on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was thoroughly impressed and completely enjoyed Def Leppard. They played all the best songs and performed them amazingly!!!!! They still rock and I would definitely see them again!!! I have seen Poison a few times now...they are still good too, but seem to get less impressive each time I see them - but still a great time. Cheap Trick - disappointing - the guys came across like a bunch of jerks, but perhaps that's part of the show....wouldn't bother seeing them again.....but wasn't a big fan of theirs to being with. PS - how could they not play The Flame?! Also thought it was cool they offered at intermission Def Leppard downloads to your phone using bluetooth - too bad it didn't seem to work (could have been user error - but I heard a few people say the same thing...). Glad we went!!!!

  • An Unforgetable 80s Rock Experience

by Statictheory on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was incredible for fans of the 80's rock genre. The show opened with Cheap Trick playing the classic, "Shes Tight". They also played hits such as "I Want You To Want Me", "The Flame", "Surrender", and many more. Then they shocked us all with an astounding performance of "A Day In The Life" by The Beatles. It was Incredible. I instantly thought I was watching The Beatles. Then, after Cheap Trick left the stage, Poison entered with a bang starting with "Look What The Cat Dragged In". C.C.Deville rocked the stage with incredible guitar solos and the entire audience chearing him on. Bret Michaels brought the stage to life and put on an incredible performance. They also played such hits as "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", "Talk Dirty To Me", "Fallen Angel", "I Want Action", "Unskinny Bop" and many more. They encored with "Nothin But A Good Time". Finally, Def Leppard entered the stage with an opening showing about the history of their band. They started with "Rock! Rock! Till You Drop" and brought the stage to life with an incredible performance and amazing stage setup. They played every hit you could imagine from "Rock of Ages" to "Two steps behind". They put on an amazing performance of "Bringing On The Heartbreak" which began with all members (except Rick Allen) playing acousticly on the front of the stage and then near the end runing back and switching to electric. When they played "Pour Some Sugar On Me" the entire audience went wild. They encored with "Lets Get Rocked". Rick Allens drum playing was absolutely astounding as was the entire band. There performance was an incredible experience I will never forget.

  • Cheap Trick were awesome classic stuff

by Cimmatron on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Thought all the bands were really good , just now at the age of 47 six rows from the stage was a little bit loud, and found some of the songs that I didn,'t know hard to make out. All and all I thought it was really good and I have never been disapointed at the Molson Amphitheatre.

  • Def Leppard Rocked The House

by hoggy on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

  • Not enough Poison

by Minden on 2009-07-24Molson Amphitheatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Def Leppard was far better this time then the last time they were in Toronto and put in a lot of effort. I came to see Poison and was disappointed they were on for only 45 minutes.
