THE LION KING premiered on Broadway in 1997 and has since become the third-longest-running musical on Broadway and the first to hit the $1 billion mark at the box office. The North American tour is an equally grand theatrical achievement, having welcomed over 20 million theatergoers in more than 80 cities.The six-time Tony Award-winning production features direction by Julie Taymor, music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice, and choreography by Garth Fagan. For over two decades, the touring production’s visual tapestry has enchanted audiences across North America and continues to be a “must-see” live event, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

    A top notch performance, does not matter that is a touring show. It went above anything Ive seen before including shows on Broadway.

    My 90 year old Mother took me to see the Lion King and we were both so in awe of the performance, costumes, music, etc. This has to be a 'must see' for everyone at any age. A night that will be remembered forever.

    I would recommend this show to everyone. It is so well done. The costumes are amazing - the singing is fantastic - the music is great and the actors & children are spectacular. This is a show that MUST be seen !

    The entire production was fantastic! From animals to story to singing! Truly enjoyed every minute of it. Would definitely go again and tell more people!

    What an incredible night. The Lion King was an amazing play. They brought the story to life with the amazing people and puppets. The creativity was fabulous. I loved it!

    This was my third time seeing this performance and it was just as good in Calgary as it was in London, England. It was also my kids' first time going to the theatre and they absolutely loved the performance.

    The Lion King was Amazing!

    The opening act was impressionable, magical and the whole night was unforgettable. The music gave me goosebumps non stop. It was my daughters favourite movie growing up and it brought back a lot of great memories. All the characters were fantastic but Rafiki stole the show.

    What a fantastic show! The costumes, the set, the voices, the energy were incredible. It was the first time taking my kids and they loved it! I would highly recommend it to families.

    Just an all round great show. Our kids are grown now but the excellent song renditions brought back great memories of how popular and fun the Lion King was, and still is.
