The Eskimos played there best ball of the year ! The beat the beast team in the CFL. Right now.
This is the first time I've been to an Edmonton Eskimos game in Commonwealth Stadium and it's simple awesome!
The price of a seat and food was great. We had trouble finding the right gate to go into for the food....did it only go from 4:30-6pm? We had a lady beside us going down for her hotdog at 9pm. The exact instructions about the food could have been a bit clearer.
My wife and I had a great time at the game. Nice win for the Eskimos. I'd go to another game.
Great value and entertainment for the money. The game was great, the activities fun and great venues and food!
The Game was a joy to watch. From the opening Kick off it was an entertaining event. With Montreal quickly taking the lead it left Edmonton with a job to do. They met the challenge and then some. The only draw back to the whole event was a few loud mouths who kept yelling at the opposing teams players.( Like all such ignorant's they are only brave when they are under protection) If they had been competitive players at any time in their life, they would have known that the only people that hear there immature rantings are the fans in front of them, Oh well it was still a great game and I am glad the hometown boy's won.
I was at the game last night and i could only stay for 3 quarters, but The Esks had a outstanding game against Montreal and was a fantastic win in my view.
Game was good although I'm an Alouettes's fan and they lost. However, had a terrific time with my girlfriend who's an Eskies's fan. We did have 4 mid-20s kids sitting beside us who took the game a little too seriously and were getting very cocky.
No offence but the right outcome. Both teams suffered to produce any offence. Not an overly exciting game. Maybe another new coach?
I was disappointed with the lack of offense shown by the Eskimos. There was teh odd drive here and there but overall they did not put together a strong game. The rain was steady for most of the game, but they should be able to adjust to conditions. Back to the title ..... the rain came early, stopped at halftime, then started again. We moved up under the overhang as we are not 'regulars' and did not have full coverage ponchos. In the second half the covered seating above us was filled quickly, so we headed across to the west corner where there were many empty seats. I am in my 50s and my son is late teens, we walked past the usher and sat down. Shortly after we were settled a group of fans in their early 20s came along and sat in the row in front of us. The usher came over, asked for their tickets and made them leave. I noticed later that he was stopping people at the top of the stairs and not letting them sit in the empty seats. I guess when I went by him with my son we looked like we belonged there. My beef is with the usher. Let us enjoy the game in some comfort!
My husband and I took our fathers to the game as a gift for fathers day. One is a Riders fan and one is a Eskimos fan, so we definately shared heard some trash talk and shared some laughs. If was great to be outdoors too, until the clouds turn grey and it started to rain - we had to seek shelter indoors to finish watching the game. All in all, it was a nice way to spend a night out with our Dad's and we will have to do it again soon!
This was actually quite a boring, defensive game until the last five minutes. Fortunately our seats were in the perfect spot to avoid the rain.
The game was a little slow first 1/4 but the next 3/4 was exciting very close finish but the G/G kicked *utt How to go Esks
Good seats for a good game. My only concern was the lightning. I was wondering when the game would halt and what would happen. Stadium starting to do alot of leaking though.
Slow start but good football overall. Great venue! Love the Commonwealth stadium
It was an excellent game overall.I found that the Esks dominated a good percentage of the time. What made the game really exciting was the Bombers coming around in the 4th almost tying up the game.
I just want to say the seats were fantastic and the weather that day made the experience that much better. I recommend that fans of the opposite team site in that section as you are right behind the visitors bench and the view is unbelieveable.
First time to Commonwealth Stadium, venue was pretty good, pregame atmosphere was alright. The weather was misserable, monsoon like rains pelted fans for almost the entire game. The game itself was typical of a seson opener for each team, not much offence and a defensive showcase. The Bombers lost on a pretty questionable time out before the tieing feild goal, after Serna made his first attempt. Disappointing end to an otherwise rainy and cold night.
Retro night was a blast!! Great music! Loved the retro costumes! And the only reason its not getting 5 stars from me is that the Eskies could have played better & WON!! I took my grandson & his view is the same as mine!! BUT they could have/ should have done more with the halftime show!!!
Definately enjoyed the Game, as much as the uncomfortable seating would allow. Seating at this stadium is very uncomfortable as the rows of seats as they are situated gives no leg room. Knees are hard up against the seat in front of you. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE SEATING.
