The seats we had were obstructed by a curtain in front of a stage used for the between-period band. So we moved to seats that weren't obstructed. No one bugged us, but if the game had been better attended, that wouldn't have been on option. Section 110 row 12, folks. Don't sell those seats. Adults can't see over the curtain, and kids for sure can't.
Not only did the Oil Kings play good and hard, it was such a fun nite. Lots of good fun family entertainmen!

This was the first Edmonton Oil Kings game I have ever been to and it was so entertaining and I would definitely go to another game
That was the most exiting hockey game I ever saw. Those guys are great! :-)
The Edmonton Oil Kings offer a fast-paced entertaining hockey experience and are the next best thing to the Oilers at a price you can actually afford to take a family of four out to. Just beware the seating if you have small children. We bought tickets in row 12 right behind the Oil Kings net and discovered that is the first row of permanent seats, behind the bleacher seats, with a metal 1/2 wall and railing in between and right in our view. Fortunately the game was not sold out and we were able to move a section over and a row down for the start of the 2nd period.

Great family Fun! I would recommend more participation from Edmonton population. Calgary does the teddy bear toss with more enthusiasm and participation!
Oil King's annual Teddy Bear Toss was so much fun! What a great family event to kick-start the holidays. We will be doing this again next year.
Our family really enjoyed the intensity of the game. These young guys really play every minute with passion. We will go again this winter.
Good game but wrong team won. the game was kind of boring not many penalties and not enough hitting and the play was not so good. boring game

This is great entertainment for young families - good to see lots of kids out. Great memories of the "old days" of Regina Pats season tickets. i hope there will be more people out as the season goes on. The Oil Kings will be out on top at the end of the season for sure. Having seen the Pats win a Memorial Cup - i can assure the Oil King fans in Edmonton that it is a wonderful experience!!
It was good to be back amongst the great Oil Kings atmosphere, not so great score though. We, as a family, really enjoy the games and are looking forward to a successful season.
Good seats, hard hitting action and nice to see the up and coming draft picks. To bad the kings lost though.
We had a great time!!! The game was Fast paced. The Oil kings lost but still a great event. The stands were freezing though!!!
My son said it was hockey for fans with ADD there was so much going on. Every stoppage in play, between periods, amazing. Lots of fun.
Overall a great value for the dollar. Just wished they could have pulled off a win!!! We will get them next year! Congrats on a good season Oil Kings! Look forward to next year!
It wasn't such a great night for the home fans. However, there were enough Rebels' (visitors) fans in the building that one could say it was THEIR home ice! The game started off slow with no scoring in the 1st period. The 2nd period was when the Red Deer Rebels lifted off on their scoring, netting 4 goals in the 20 minute frame. They continued to play solid defense until about 3/4 in to the 3rd period when the Oil Kings would strike, killing what would've been the 1st playoff shutout for Darcy Kuemper. Being up by 3 goals, the Oil Kings STILL pulled their netminder with less than 4 minutes to go. This is rarely done when a team trails by 3 or more goals. Nevertheless, the Red Deer Rebels received an automatic empty-net goal while Brett Ferguson was tripped on the breakaway. That gave the Rebels a 5-1 victory win to sweep the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-0. The Rebels will now wait for the other matchups to finish before they begin Round 2.
We enjoyed the high energy atmosphere, the finesse of the players and the kid friendly activities. Also to mention the price did not break the bank.
