About

Rock group Evanescence, initially formed in 1994 by Amy Lee and Ben Moody, released three EPs before the end of the ‘90s and an album called Origin. By 2002 they were signed to Wind-Up Records and expanded the line-up to include musicians John LeCompt, Will Boyd and Rocky Gray. In 2003 they released their first official album, Fallen, which sold over 15 million copies.

Evanescence released a live album, Anywhere But Home, in 2004. This was followed by Open Door in 2006, which sold one million copies in its first week. The band then waited five years to release their third album, the self-titled Evanescence. The band has toured extensively across the world. Their 2012 world tour took in a number of dates in the UK, South America , North America, Australia, China, Japan and Indonesia.

The band has received five Grammy nominations and has won two awards — for Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance. Other accolades for the band include a Los Premios MTV award, a MTV Australia Video Music Award, a NRJ Music Award, two Teen Choice Awards and a World Music Award. Amy Lee was awarded the National Music Publishers' Association's Songwriter Icon Award in 2008.

The band’s line-up has varied with a number of members leaving at various stages in their history. One of the founding members, Ben Moody, left in the middle of their European tour in 2003. He was replaced by Terry Balsamo. In 2005, Will Boyd also left, with Tim McCord joining in 2006. During their 2007 tour, John LeCompt was fired and Rocky Gray decided to quit. These two members were replaced by Troy Lawham and Will Hunt.

Evanescence's lead singer Amy Lee has worked on a number of other projects. Her version of “Sally's Song†was included on the soundtrack for Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Her collaborations with other artists have included Korn's “Freak on a Leash†single and Seether's Broken, which was featured on the soundtrack for The Punisher. She has also performed on tracks for David Hodges, Big Dismal and The Damning Well.

    Weird crowd

by Pucci on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Came to see Lindsey Stirling. Her sound has become too loud with all that back-up and the backdrop is too distracting, taking away from her more mellow past. Didn't even stay for Evanesecence.

    Amy Lee is a powerhouse!

by LoveEvanescence on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Amy Lee’s voice is amazing! Band sounded great. Special effects weren’t over the top, and also not cheesy either so it was a good balance.

Great concert, but printed time was too early

    by TorontoFan2018 on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Evanescence and Lindsey Sterling were amazing! Amy Lee sang just like her recordings (her live performances have improved over the years!), and Lindsey Stirling captured the audience with her amazing dance moves and violinist skills. But they didn't come on until 8:15 pm (Lindsey) and 9:35 pm (Evanescence) even though the ticket said 7 pm. Cellogram opened at 7 pm, and while their music was nice, I had no idea that the concert was to take almost 4 hours. There was no indication on the ticket that Cellogram was opening for the concert anyway. The performance times should be indicated so that I can come at a time that I choose.

    Outstanding

by Shaorin on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This was my second time seeing Lindsey Stirling in concert and she's never disappointed. What a phenomenal talent and such a sweet person. She often breaks in the middle of songs to talk about inspirational stories from her life, which I love. I've never seen Evanescence perform live until this show, and wow. Amy Lee is even more incredible live, and I didn't know that was possible.

    Lindsay Stirling stole the show!

by Jamo on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Lindsey Stirling was amazing! She was the highlight of the concert. Evanescence "Bring Me To Life" didn't have the grit or power you expected it to have to get you pumped up. It could be because of the orchestral accompaniment, but it still may have worked if the electric guitar still had it's prominence, which it didn't.

    Exceptional Concert, allright seating

    by Slatchman1 on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

The seats were an additional row added to our section so the we were at the same level as the row in front of us. It definitely obstructed our view. Other than that both Lindsey and Evanescence were exceptional and simply flawless.

    Amy Leigh

    by Howie2 on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

This was an Amy Leigh concert. It was all about her singing. Wow can she sing. Great show lacked the heavy evanescence sound but with an orchestra what can you expect. Love it but would like to see her again with some edge.

Evanescence is a long time favourite of mine. It was very cool to include a full orchestra. Sounded really good. Also, Lindsey Stirling is incredible! She puts on quite the show. Definitely made me a fan.

Evanescence plus live Orchestra = Incredible

by Thegrimm on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

First time seeing evanescence live and they were with Lindsey Stirling who was also amazing to see!! The live orchestra really made this a unique experience and should be seen by everyone. Bands don’t usually ever have a live orchestra on stage but evanescence did and it was powerful and mesmerizing to see. Please see this SHOW!! Amy Lee’s voice is something out of this world!!!

    Worst concert ever

by PunchMaster on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

No words to describe it. First of all, it's not Evanescence anymore, the show should be dubbed Amy Lee and Orchestra. There is no punch, no energy. Sad. First time ever that I left a concert before it ended.

Great Show - First Time Seeing Evanescence

    by Caper74 on 2018-07-30Budweiser Stage - Toronto

Amy Lee is an incredible singer - amazing voice and control. Unique experience with the symphony backing her and the band as they did a number of previous songs and hits in a different way.

Her voice is really amazing. But if you like the Rock version of her songs I have to say she doesn't play with Rock style.
