Rock group Evanescence, initially formed in 1994 by Amy Lee and Ben Moody, released three EPs before the end of the ‘90s and an album called Origin. By 2002 they were signed to Wind-Up Records and expanded the line-up to include musicians John LeCompt, Will Boyd and Rocky Gray. In 2003 they released their first official album, Fallen, which sold over 15 million copies.
Evanescence released a live album, Anywhere But Home, in 2004. This was followed by Open Door in 2006, which sold one million copies in its first week. The band then waited five years to release their third album, the self-titled Evanescence. The band has toured extensively across the world. Their 2012 world tour took in a number of dates in the UK, South America , North America, Australia, China, Japan and Indonesia.
The band has received five Grammy nominations and has won two awards — for Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance. Other accolades for the band include a Los Premios MTV award, a MTV Australia Video Music Award, a NRJ Music Award, two Teen Choice Awards and a World Music Award. Amy Lee was awarded the National Music Publishers' Association's Songwriter Icon Award in 2008.
The band’s line-up has varied with a number of members leaving at various stages in their history. One of the founding members, Ben Moody, left in the middle of their European tour in 2003. He was replaced by Terry Balsamo. In 2005, Will Boyd also left, with Tim McCord joining in 2006. During their 2007 tour, John LeCompt was fired and Rocky Gray decided to quit. These two members were replaced by Troy Lawham and Will Hunt.
Evanescence's lead singer Amy Lee has worked on a number of other projects. Her version of “Sally's Song†was included on the soundtrack for Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Her collaborations with other artists have included Korn's “Freak on a Leash†single and Seether's Broken, which was featured on the soundtrack for The Punisher. She has also performed on tracks for David Hodges, Big Dismal and The Damning Well.

Opener the Warning led off the night with a set that showed their metal chops. Halestorm delivered a powerful set featuring Lzzy Hale's incredible vocals. And Evanescence brought the house down with Amy Lee showcasing her amazing range. Excellent show
Evanescence was of course fabulous but the opening acts were equally fantastic. "The Warning"were so energetic and fun to watch while Halestorm blew me away. Halestorm's lead vocalist, Lizzy Hale, stunned us all with her grit and control. Thanks all for putting on a great show!
Best concert in years… should do it more often… from open to close 4 hours of great music… would do it again!
The seats at the Canadian Tire center were unfortunately not very comfortable and did not leave much leg room. The two opening bands The Warning and Heil Storm needed sound adjustments as the vocals could not be heard. The sound was better for Evanescence but the vocals were still hidden by the instruments. Luckily Amy Lee has such a powerful voice that we were able to hear her most of the time but we would have liked to hear her a little more. The light and smoke show was very good.
Très bon spectacle à Ottawa. Seul point négatif, j’ai trouvé que pendant The Warning, la musique des instruments était beaucoup trop forte, qu’on n’entendait pas les chanteuses. Halestorm j’ai été vraiment impressionnée. Le show était parfait! Et Évanescence que j’ai découvert il y a 20 ans, très jeune, magnifique! J'ai adoré! J’ai vraiment passé une belle soirée!
Thisxtome everything was well organized including the parking, exits and etc. A great show!!!! Thank you
Missed the Warning this time, due late arrival. I am sure they were great like they always are. Halestrom was good and surprised those with me that they ARE a real metal band. Got to lose the cowboy hats though. Amy Lee was great. Have always wanted to see her sing live. Smaller venue would have got five stars. I think the enormity of the rink distorted the overall show.
I do like Evanescence but in my opinion 2 hour warmup with 2 different groups is excessive. Also, the hardware was not on par. I think the loudspeakers didn't have to potential to deliver the music as intended
I was so stocked to see Evanescence coming to Canada. It was a dream come true for my birthday. I am still in awe !!!
The Warning steal the show! Amazing trio that sound perferct!! We have been warn!!!
I miss a part of Evanescence show cause after 3 hours i was burned. I appreciate Halestorm a lot and make a great discovery with The Warning. I was going for Evanescence so i like my evening very much with a little deception for Evanescence, but i will give another try anytime to one of my favorite band.
I was in Montreal to experience Halestorm Evanescence and The Warning but my main excitement went toward Amy Lee and her band. Never had such a touching experience at a concert until this show. I went with my mom and had the best night ever I will never forget how Amy Lee and evanescence made me feel inside. Her vocals among her messages brought me to realize that she’s a strong woman but makes me feel proud to be a fan. I will really miss seeing Evanescence in Montreal. Hope they come back and tour Canada as a headliner again.
I can't say enough about this concert, it was amazing. All three bands were at their game. Incredible performers!
The venue is always great. The Warning started things heavy and did not disappoint. Halestorm was so, so, so good. Always a rocking good time and beyond talented. Evanescence was amazing, even more than I imagined.
The warnings and halestorm gave one hell of a show. The sound were great and the musicians gave themself a lot on the scenes. For evanescence the musicians did a good job but the sound tech should be fired, a lot of saturation and bad level adjustments.
Amy lee is still amazing after all thèse years! The show could have been longer, they got the material to add more. They had some HD screens behind but they could have one big that show the band closer. The 2 screens on the side didnt had a good image quality. I would have loved to see the band better on the screens. Beside that, wonderful show! ❤️
The whole experience at the Videotron in Quebec City was awesome. The Warning were over the top, Halestorm was amazing and stole the show in my eyes. Evanescence was awesome as expected and left us wanting to see all 3 bands again sooner than later
Wow! That's what I call ROCKIN' the house. Great sound all around! Evanescence was awesome with a nice setlist of 17 songs.
We really enjoyed this concert. Was pleasantly surprised by the performances of The Warning and Halestorm. We knew Evanescence would give us a great show and we were not disappointed. The music and sound was spot on. The performances were amazing.
