  • Franz Ferdinand was hypnotizing!

by lesviolettes on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

There is nothing like standing in the pouring rain and rocking to an amazing band. So beautiful, when the lights come up over the crowd and the rain sparkles. So awesome. They nailed every song, kept it unique and they had a great connection with the crowd. Had a great time.

  • Franz Ferdinand was Great Fun

    by Sarah2908 on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Franz Ferdinand were excellent last night in Stanley Park. It was pouring rain but the crowd was fun and the music was impressive. They sang new songs and old classics and are excellent live musicians. The only problem was the venue. Whilst the sound system and location were great, it was a no alcohol place and you don't go to see a band like this without a beer in your hand. They should play at the Commodore next time.

  • Franz was top!

by Chants on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Franz blew it out the park. It was back in 2005 that I last saw Franz at the Commodore, and was much more dazzled by Alex and co. this time around. The extra's such as a solid 5 minutes of beating the drums together as a team, and the 10 minute Lucid Dreams instrumental were awesome. Great energy, kept us going even with the rain pouring!

  • Franz Ferdinand Fantastic!

Saw Franz Ferdinand at the Malkin Bowl last night and despite the rain they were fantastic. What a great live show. Definitely worth seeing next time they are in town.

  • Franz Ferdinand had an amazing performance!!

The show was great, the sound was amazing and even though it rained it was still a spectactular show.

  • Franz puts on a Great show in the Rain!

    by LAWNwrangler87 on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Franz Ferdinand play at the Commodore ballroom, so I know they sound nearly identical to the album (hate bands that sound horrible live). Since this was going to be an outdoor venue, I was slightly hesitant to buy tickets, but since it was Franz, I went ahead and bought them. The day of the show it's raining all day, but once the opening band starts to play, the rain stopped! Sadly, an hour later, the rain picked up considerably once Franz came out. They have great energy and they played tons of new and old songs. The whole crowd was into every song, not a moment of people not jumping around and going crazy. I was able to stick it out in the just behind the front row, but there was tons of dancing/jumping going on. haha. Next time Franz Ferdinand comes to town, buy tickets ASAP. They are well worth the money, and standing in the rain for 5 hours.

  • Franz rocked!

by PHNtobe on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Boogied the night away under a drizzling sky to FF's awesome beats. Great energy, fantastic live show. Stellar event all around.

  • Franz Ferdinand were Fabulous!

    by Neesy100 on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the venue, even in the pouring rain! Franz ferdinand rocked Malkin Bowl! The band had a great raport with the audience and kept everyone moving with their lively music. My only complaint would be that it was too short, a few more songs would have been great!

  • FF rocked it out

by tmizz on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

FF put on an amazing show - lots of energy, great song choices, however the last "song" went on WAY too long and kinda left us on a downer in contrast to the high energy of the rest of the show. Highly recommended anyway....even in the rain!

  • Franz Ferdinand always puts on an amazing show

by ladymadonna on 2009-09-07Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third time I've seen this band, each time just gets better. Their songs are energetic and the band is even more energetic, and all that means is its a good time. Be prepared to dance.

  • Franz Ferdinand Rocked

by bk09 on 2009-09-06The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was in a small venue which kept it up close and personal. The band that opened was awesome and super funky. Franz Ferdinand put on the best show I have ever seen. They seemed super pumped to be performing for us and were just as pumped as the crowd. It was AWESOME!!!!

  • Amazing show!

Franz Ferdinand played an amazing show. They played a mix of songs from the first album to their latest.

  • franz rocked the hothouse!

by rockstarchad on 2009-09-05Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Great high energy rock show! I' ve never seen them live before and the y really impressed me. Nice dynamic to the live songs. Great guitar tones for both. Drummer kicks ass. Way too hot in the Burty tho. And the jam to end the show was not my favorite. Thought they should' ve ended it with Lucid Dreams

  • Franz Ferdinand was alright

by NikNok on 2009-09-04The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

The lead guitarist has amazing hands. Apparently the drum "solo" by all members of the band was cool, but I couldn't see any of it. Venue was so hot it was gross. The guys play good music but aren't much of a show.

  • An awesome night.

by Wreckedum on 2009-09-04The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Franz Ferdinand, were amazing. Their energy was infectious. It felt very intimate, like you were watching a private jam session. It was amazing watching the crowd all sway together, like we were slaves to their groove.

  • Franz Ferdinand was high energy and amazing!

by Panther on 2009-09-04The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

The music was great. The venue was crowded, sweltering, and had odd accoustics, but it was all worth it to see my favourite band in concert. I wasn't all that fond of the opening band, or the 8:00pm-11:00pm wait for the main event, but overall it was killer.

  • franza franza ferdinanza

by soulmantra on 2009-09-04The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

franz came to have a good time and rock out. yes that's a basic expectation but so many bands just fail to even bring that. bloc party at the same venue recently was a steaming pile of horse pucky... all ego and nothing to back it up. franz was the exact opposite. they came to have a good time and it showed. they worked with the crowd instead of acting like we were all so lucky to have the pleasure of their company and sounding like no good band had ever come to saskatoon before (again bloc party). very dancable rock show that delivered everything i'd hoped for. crowd overall was pretty awesome too. even got a free beer from a guy who accidentally got 3 and couldn't hold them all because the were not in bottles (thanks odeon for your wasteful tasteless pouring of bottles into plastic cups!!! boo urns to that).

  • Franz + Burton Cummings = Frantastic

High energy show. Lots of positive vibes. Played every song you wanted to hear plus more.

  • Gods among men

by ARockNRolla on 2009-09-04The Odeon Events Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Franz Ferdinand sound as good live as they do on their albums. They were energetic and often encouraged the crowd to join in. FF kept the performance unique and fun throughout the entire concert.
