GERRY DEE ON TOUR:
Personal story looms large in the stand-up of Canadian comic Gerry Dee. A former sportsman and physical education teacher, Dee's act draws heavily on the comic potential of institutional learning and the inherently funny dynamic of teacher and student. As a finalist on the 2007 season of NBC's Last Comic Standing, Dee more than proved his performance chops, beating out most of the competition to take home 3rd place. With his hit sitcom Mr. D entering its third season, Dee is sure to be sharper than ever on The Real Mr. D 2014 Comedy Tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Ontario, Gerry Dee played varsity hockey and golf at university before going on to become a physical education teacher. His experiences coaching young athletes and students provided him plenty of fodder for his stand-up act, and in 1999 he was named Toronto's Funniest New Comic. After deciding to pursue comedy full-time, Dee went on to win numerous comedy competitions and prizes in the '00s, including the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2002 — an honor he shares with comic legends Robin Williams and Ellen Degeneres. After a successful appearance on the 5th season of NBC's Last Comic Standing, Dee launched his namesake sitcom Mr. D on Canadian television in 2012, announcing its renewal for a third season in 2014.
Excellent show, I saw him years ago and was happy to see the tickets come up. He did not disappoint we were laughing so hard the entire time. I considered buying tickets to another one of his shows cause it was so funny.
Second time seeing Gerry D and he did not disappoint. Absolutely hilarious!! Would see him again in a heartbeat. Amazing show!!

I've only seen Gerry Dee on TV while watching Mr D and Family Feud Canada. I knew he was funny and quick with a joke, but I never saw him live on stage doing standup comedy. Gerry Dee has a unique style, one that draws you into his story and brings a very funny perspective to everyday life. He involved the audience well, made us all feel part of his family, and gave us non-stop funny stories during his full performance. Gerry Dee is up there with Sebastian Maniscalco. We had a great time !
Gerry was amazing. Very funny. My boyfriend came along to humour me and he couldn't stop laughing. The show was the perfect length and the opener Fiona O'Brien was excellent.
From his introductory story to the final words shared, he had me truly laughing with his relatable tales. Great performance!
Gerry Dee had the crowd in stitches from the moment he stepped on stage until the moment he left. He is a natural comedian and the show was fabulous. I could’ve sat there another hour listening to him. Whoever arranged his show needs to treat him better so he doesn’t need to get a ride to the venue with an audience member!!! Get that man a chauffeur!

My husband and I took my sister-in-law and and uncle to this skow while we were visiting in Thunder Bay... what a great night! We laughed so hard I had no voice left the next day and we were all still laughing days later. Highly recommend!!

I was in front row and got to meet him afterwards....the show was great made me laugh the whole way threw.....if he came back i would seen him again. And hope he does! I wouldve bought a shirt or something if there was any but loved the show and hope to see u back Gerry
Seriously, run, don't walk to get tickets to this show! I went with my husband and we haven't laughed like this in ages! If you have children, attended sports with children, are a teacher or know one well, or have been married awhile, every single statement he makes will have you in stitches. His commentary on life was bang on, totally relatable and simply hilarious. Do not miss your opportunity to let Gerry Dee bring a tremendous amount of joy into your evening - go and see him. You'll be so glad you did.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed Gerry Dee's show. His sense of humor and the topics he chooses to focus on had us laughing loudly on many occasions. Sadly the evening passed too quickly leaving us wishing he would stay overtime!
There was a lengthy line up to get in. Missed part of the opening act. Opening act was not that funny. Gerry Dee was fantastic. He was only on stage for an hour.
Hilarious as usual. Could have been a little longer. 85 minutes total for opening act and main act seems brief.
Was it all ad lib or did he have people planted in the audience ?
Was a great night out, show was fantastic. Venue was pretty good except the part where you can't bring your drinks inside.
Gerry was great! Kept us laughing the whole time. Opener was a nice surprise. Haven’t seen him before. Love the venue. A must see when he comes again.
Hilarious as always. Third time seeing Gerry D and he always has us laughing with his risqué humour, in his own style. Look forward to seeing him on his next visit, to get a good ab workout, laughing.
Jerry is always a good time. Opener was 3/5 …more new material for Jerry would have made it 5/5.
