Great show as always. Loads of Canadian content and performers this year. Lacked a commedian during costume changes.
The show was fantastic. I was disappointed in the no refund policy. I had a ticket foe an out of town guest that was not able to attend. I tried for two days to return it. I have returned tickets in the past.
As usual the chuck wagon races and young Canadians were fantastic but I thought the choreographer was out to lunch with this show. For this being the 101 and the new century I personally thought they should of tried to have a show that was to be talked about for years. Unfortunately the show fell well short of this. As a person whom has only missed two years in the last 51 years the show was disappointing. The Indians were not emphasized enough as they have been a large part of the history of the Calgary Stampede and down played to the Chinese acrobats. The acrobats were good but not at the expense of the people that have made the Stampede one of the best shows in the last 100 years. Bottom line the attempt to look like a Las Vegas show was poor.
...they say it is the greatest outdoor show in the world and they are correct...haven't been for 6 or 7 years and the Grandstand Show still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I am explaining it to someone...best outdoor concert I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of them...
We always enjoy the rodeo the city of Calgary did a wonderful job after all the flooding that occurred great job calgary
The show was good. However, the length of the show was too small. The Derby race took most part of the evening and the grandstand show was just over an hour. It is probably more money's worth for someone watching the race but may be not so much for someone looking forward to the grandstand show.
It was a great grandstand show. Me and my family thought it was excellent. Much better than last year.
Absolutely amazing!! The range of different entertainment all packed in to one show is impossible to describe...everyone should see this at least once!!!!
Same old. Same old. The eveing show and midway really need a major overhaul. The show needs a headliner act. Goodness knows for the price of the seats they should be able to afford one. Maybe they could hire Ushers older then 12 who could keep an eye on the intoxicated matrons in the Grand Stand. I won't be back for a very long time.
The term " GREATEST OUTDOOR SHOW ON EARTH" !!!!!!!!! IS NOT. an overstatement. FABULOUS!!!!!!!! Show Would highly recommend it
Show was very good but the temperature dropped and the wind pick up and it was cold, which for me take away from the show but didn't for the people I was with so great job. KISS came out and did a song very unexpected and great but they by far weren't the highlight the entire show was the highlight.
The chuckwagon races and grandstand show were great again. Every year they never seem to disappoint. Nice touch this year to add tributes about the flood victims.
Excellent show as always -- good variety - something for everyone.
We go to the Grandstand Show almost every year and always think it is fantastic, however; this year it was 'over the top' absolutely spectacular and very emotional with the tribute to the Heroes of the Calgary Flood. We took our two granddaughters (ages 7 & 10) and with the Chuckwagon Races it was a late night but because the show and fireworks were so entertaining when we left, both the girls asked me to find out how they could audition for The Young Canadians. They want to be part of the 'future' of TYC's at the Calgary Stampede. Can't wait for next year!
I have never missed a year in my whole 28 years. I enjoy the chucks and grandstand more now than I did as a kid! Love that my parents started this and I will continue to be amazed at the talent of everyone involved year after year. It's something everyone must attend at least once in a life time. Last year was stampede 100 and I didn't think It could be topped. But with the floods so close to stampede 101. This year proved that with everyone's had work and long hours were a success. This year made me proud.
The Grandstand Show was absolutely incredible. A world class performance by our own Young Canadians! Every part of the performance was outstanding. Loved the tribute to the volunteers and First Responders. Made me so proud to be a Calgarian!!
The show was amazing. Even my kids loved it! I would definitely attend next year.
My guests from NY were so impressed with the grandstand. My 14 attendance and I was so proud. Mayor Nenshi is the best. We are bigger and better every year!
Well worth attending, we enjoyed it immensely and recommend it.
Always enjoy the excitement of the chuckwagon races. The grandstand show is spectacular and a must see after the chucks. The Young Canadians are so talented and an incredible part of the show. Who wouldn't want to enjoy the fireworks!?
