    Absolute legend

by Mr.G on 2022-11-02Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

What a night to get to enjoy the songwriting of Gordon Lightfoot. A true Canadian gem and one of the best songwriters of all time. A great intimate night listening to him strum away in both 12 and 6 string guitars as his voice quietly boomed on the room both singing and telling Canadian music stories from a time gone by. Exceptional. Thank you Gordon Lightfoot.

    Good Night & Good Memories

by Prairie Grrrrrl on 2022-11-02Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

I hadn't seen Gordie perform for almost 40 years and felt this evening was something I just had to do. Lots of silver and white heads bobbing to the tunes in the audience, lots of people lip-syncing with the lyrics. Great night.

    I should have known better

by Marg on 2022-11-02Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

I have the utmost respect for Gordon Lightfoot and don't want to be rude. However, this concert was truly disappointing. He has emphysema and not only has lost significant ability to actually sing but also doesn't have the lung capacity to do so any longer. I truly wish I hadn't gone.

    Needs to retire

by SJ on 2022-11-02Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

He can no longer sing. Can't hold a note and very hard to understand when talking or singing. I did not know most of the songs he say. He shortened songs to fit more into his set. We clapped out of respect and not because of the singing. I prefer icons to retire on a high note.

    Gordon Lightfoot

by Buddy on 2022-11-02Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

Amazing concert, such a great and talented Canadian artist. Staff were great as were the other concert goers. The venue is well laid out, I loved having the tvs so I could see him clearer. Great sound, too.

    A Real Shame

by Dee on 2022-11-02Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

Disappointing to see Gordon Lightfoot in such poor health and form. As I listened I searched for some semblance of the voice that I once new. Nowhere to be found. Just terribly disappointed.

Sad to watch one of my favourite songwriters/ singers lay carnage to his legacy, his music and himself

    Gordon

by Jules on 2022-10-31River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

At 84 he still can sing, just not with as much pep. Perhaps if he had a video montage to allow time for him the hydrate and medicate he would not need to do that on stage.

    84 years young

by Cd on 2022-10-31River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

I would like to start with the venue. I was in row 24 and could not see the stage and so I had to watch it all on a screen. Coming out of there I wondered what would happen if there was a fire (crowded and long winding route out) Gordon stood up very well considering this was his second show in 2 nights. I’m not sure if it was the sound system but his talking was very garbled at first. Lots of old favourites sung.

    Cried the whole time

by Isabelle on 2022-10-31Grey Eagle Event Centre - Calgary

My love for Gordon began when I was around 8, my dad was playing Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and told me the story behind the song and I simply fell in love. Over the years I collected used vinyls and recorded concert movies because I thought the only way I would ever be able to see Gordon would be through a screen. Now I’m 21 and had just moved to Calgary for school, and I saw that his concert which was cancelled due to COVID had a new date so I bought the tickets, went and bawled my eyes out the whole time. I went alone, and wished my dad who lit the fire of my love for this old folk singer could have been there with me, but it was such a memorable experience that I will hold close to my heart forever. Thank you for this memory.

    Witnessing a Legend

by Rob on 2022-10-31River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

I hope when I am Gordon's age, I will be able to do what I do now with the same vigour and vitality that he is still capable of as he ascends the stage and sings his classic songs. It was a privilege to witness this legend one last time before he heads off to a well-deserved retirement. Cheers Gordon!

    Time to retire Mr. Lightfoot

by Heather on 2022-10-31River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Sorry to say I think it’s time for Mr. Lightfoot to retire from singing. Had I not known the songs I would have had no idea what he was singing as the words were not clear at all. Don’t get me wrong - still love his songs but I’ll be listening to them on my record player from now on.

    He should retire

by Norcal on 2022-10-30River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

I have no issues with the venue, wheelchair accessible, no stairs. But poor Gordon was so out of breath, he could barely sing let alone speak. Half way through he took in some oxygen. Thus isn't how I want to remember him!

    AWESOME

by Meghan S on 2022-10-30River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

It was a great evening. He is such a great entertainer, and his voice still has that magic, etheral quality I fell in love with so long ago. 10/10 glad we went!

    He is still going

by Paully on 2022-10-30River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

The concert was a bit short, he did shorten all the songs, but he is 87 years old. Glad we got to see him, before he fully retires

    Disappointed

by Tony on 2022-10-30River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

We realize Mr. Lightfoot is not in his prime as a performer, but we didn't realize that much of the performance his words were mumbled and he was often breathless and the lyrics were again inaudible. His band on the other hand was very enjoyable to listen to.
