    Amazing

by Elle on 2023-11-22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The whole play was amazing. Even though I've seen it a second time (probably even more in the future), it remains to be one of the greatest play I've watched. Words alone would not be enough to describe the experience of seeing the play. You just had to be there. To see the set, the actors, to hear the music! I brought my sister and her friend here to see their reaction the first time. My sister has heard the music of so shes not going in completely blind but there's this one moment in the play where the stage transforms. The music is great, but the set, the use of lighting really elevates the experience. Anyways 10/10 will rewatch again and again.

    Jubilee production was fabulous!

by Masterpiece on 2023-11-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

After seeing Hadestown twice on Broadway with the original cast, I was once again excited to see it in Edmonton, at The Jubilee Auditorium. I wondered how the production would transmit to a larger venue, but I was thrilled with the cast, the musicians, the sets, and the production team. Absolutely outstanding and Hadestown is worthy of every accolade. Bravo!

    Best show ever. 11/10

by Shellydoon on 2023-11-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Haven't cried that much in forever. This show is easily better than Hamilton imo. Pretty much everything about this musical was perfect. The cast was amazing and did a wonderful job. The set was insane, and everything about it was just so dang good. I wanted to go back the next day and watch it again. Only reason I didn't is cuz I'm basicall broke lol

Actors Great, show itself not so great

by Alannah S. on 2023-11-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The actors, the voices...beautiful. Hades' voice made my jaw drop. The harmonies were beautiful. The set and the lighting was great. When the lights were used as props, I really loved that. Choreography was a little...safe. Lacking. Could have done so much more. Having the actors swing on the lights. The tale of Orpheus and Eurydice is one of love and unbreakable bond. This musical lacked that. The stakes werent there. I didnt feel like they were in love at all. I didn't know why he went into Hell for her. It didnt make sense. the lyrics felt like it was written by a drama class in high school. The songs did not flow with one another. Some of the transitions were so jarring. It was difficult to get emotionally invested because the songs were so choppy. Actors did a great job with what they had. Vocal range, and emotions in their voice, were great. So yeah, 3/5. Cast, set, lighting were what made this show not bust for me.

    Brilliant singers, wonderful staging

by T&J on 2023-11-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We loved this show! Each actor was very well cast and really made the songs their own. The train was cool, too.

Hadestown - Love, Soul and Energy

by Matthew B on 2023-11-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Hadestown was a great show! From the opening energetic & soulful trombone solo by Edmonton's own - Audrey Ochoa to the glasses raised for a celebratory cheers by the entire cast! Don't miss this one!

    It wass okay

    by Sophie 333 on 2023-11-20

Wr saw this st the citadel, and it was a much better production. The sound/ diction was off this show. I couldn't make out the words. I'm not thrilled we have Mean Girls and Hairspray coming up, with so many good Broadway shows around.

    Mesmerizing

by lch on 2023-11-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The music is haunting and epic. The choreography is utterly captivating. I found myself holding my breath several times with the continuous build up, and at the end I just wanted to watch it again.

    Excellent

by Marta on 2023-11-18Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We went as a group of five and we all enjoyed it immensely. The only drawback was the sound. We all had a problem with the individual singer and trying to understand the words from the very first song. Hopefully that can be resolved.

    Fabulous Show!

by KimR on 2023-11-15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Such a talented cast brought to life the journey to the underground - the pits of Hell. The music was fabulous, the costumes were great & were on point for the setting reminiscent of a Jazz Club in Old New Orleans. Loved the set design that transitioned into club, train & Hell. Very well done - I appreciated the emotional journey I was taken on during this tragic story. It’s interesting how it aligns with so much of what has been & unfortunately continues to happen in the world we live in today.

    sound was alienating

by BG on 2023-11-14Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

the performance itself, musicians singers, were phenomenal but the sound that should have filled the auditorium left me feeling distanced from the performance - the choice of only having sound coming from the stage was alienating and made a lot of the vocals incoherent- the character of persephone was quite tinny in her belts( which she did a lot)
