About
JACK GARRATT IN CONCERT:
London-based singer and producer Jack Garratt creates cutting-edge electropop that culls from genres as diverse as rock, R&B, and 2-step. In concert Garrett puts on an impressive one-man show, jumping between keys, guitar, and electronic drum pads to whip up an impressive brew of bass-heavy beats and futuristic sounds. His lush falsetto vocals recall ‘80s icons like Prince and Freddie Mercury, but there’s nothing retro about the otherworldly synths and skittering rhythms of tracks like “Weathered” and “Chemical”. Garratt's soulful vocals, razor-sharp production skills, and electric on-stage energy make him a synth-soaked balladeer for a new generation, and ticket buyers won’t want to miss his riveting performances on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Jack Garratt was born in Little Chalfont, England and started writing songs at age 12. In his teens he began learning music production after getting his first laptop, and in 2014 he made his debut with the single “I Couldn’t Want You Anyway”. The track generated significant buzz in the UK, leading to high profile festival appearances and a deal with Island Records. He dropped the EP Remnants on the label in 2014, performing to a sold-out crowd at the London release party. Since then he’s proven himself a formidable performer on tour with powerhouse appearances at major festivals like SXSW, the Radio 1 Future Festival, and Reading & Leeds. In 2015 Garratt released his sophomore EP Synesthesiac, another impressive collection of electro-ballads that fans are eager to catch live.
