State Radio & JBT - excellent combo

by Tanko on 2010-05-31Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

State Radio didn't seem like an opener at all, they totally commanded the stage, had the crowd rocking and played a fantastic set. JBT is a really good jam band, with good versatility and good energy. The crowd was dancing, singing along and eating them up. Strong performance.

    state radio rocks hard!

by Tanko on 2010-05-31Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

State Radio is who I was there to see and they played a stellar set, great energy, very tight arrangements with great, hard jams too. I'm not huge into JBT, but they're a great band and really had the crowd going.

AWESOME! My first JBT experience and I will never miss them again if I can help it. Always a pleasure to see a band at the Commodore. Great venue. Amazing show. State Radio was surprisingly good too.

Man, John Butler Trio was sick. They engaged the audience so well and it was the most fun i've ever had at a concert I think. Definitely a memorable night.

by Anonymous on 2010-05-31Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I have seen a tonne of bands at the commodore over the years and this was by far the best show I have ever seen there. JBT was amazing. Highlight of the night was John Butler playing Ocean.

This was my first live concert seeing John Butler Trio, and he was absolutely dazziling!! John and the band brought fire, passion and, soul to the stage with each song just as heartfelt and energetic as the next.

This was the first time i've seen the JBT, and they were great. From the opening song to the end of the night, the dance floor was packed with people rockin' out. Everyone was singing along with smiles on their faces all night. Will definitely check them out again.

    The Ex factor

by Marzipan on 2010-05-30Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

It was so great that I forgot my Ex was there showing off his new squeeze just trying to make me cry. I'll eventually forget him but, I'll never forget the ear candy. To the John Butler Trio, thanks for a great show!

    Better than expected

by TrevorSto on 2010-05-30Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

To be honest, I didn't really know John Butler Trio before the concert, but now that I went I can see why so many people appreciate his music. It's not just the music, it's the musician that you are witnessing, John Butler seemed to push every instrument he played absolute limit, and so did every member of the band. John Butler Trio, you have a new fan.

John Butler Trio: Even More Amazing Live!!!

by FullBlast2TheEnd on 2010-02-11Mod Club Theatre - Toronto

John Butler Trio was absolutely amazing! Its hard to believe that they were more amazing live because they are already so insanely good on CD but they were even more unforgettable in person. John Butler is one insaneley musically talented individual! He writes, sings, and can play almost everything, and does it all amazingly well too. If he is ever in Toronto again I am 100% going to see him again. I don't care how much the tickets are there is no way I would not go and see John Butler Trio again live.

    JBT rock'd the House

by shamstudio on 2010-02-11Mod Club Theatre - Toronto

The Mod Club was a great venue, great sound and perfect size for the show. JBT was amazing. As a new fan and a virgin to his shows I really had no idea what to expect. It was great! An awesomely talented group. They were truely mind blowing! The crowd however was brutal. Screaming and yelling through out the night even through his guitar solo.... I can appreciate some enthusiasm but the screaming and yelling was a bit much. So much so that JB actually asked people to stop so he could think. And what's with watching the show through your camera/cell phone. Experience the moment people. Enjoy it for what it is. Stop trying to steal a piece of it for later. Your not even there when your watching it all happen through some screen. I think maybe I am just getting a little too old for concerts...
