    SO GREAT!

by MissMez on 2010-11-26Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

JBT was amazing as usual! I had seen him play in Vancouver so knew this show was not to be missed! Was pleased with the new members - the whole band felt like they had played together forever! Goofing around like brothers and right on cue with every beat to every song! The energy was so much fun and the music was perfect! Also enjoyed Mat McHugh as the opener! He and The Beautiful Girls have been added to my list of favorites! Hope they can ALL come back soon!

The concert was probably the best one I have ever been to, I have been to over 30 different concerts and this was by far the best. The solos were amazing and the encore just made the show! Unforgettable and definitely recommended to EVERYONE! :D

    5 Star Performer

    by FullBlast2TheEnd on 2010-07-08Sound Academy - Toronto

This was my second time seeing JBT live and I have to say that they never cease to deliver an amazing concert. John Butler is insanely talented delivering refreshing messages through his music and always makes the concert feel very personable. They are all brilliant musicians and always deliver a fantastic performance. I will defiantly be seeing them if they ever come back to Toronto again.

    Simply unbeatable

by MysteryMan on 2010-07-08Sound Academy - Toronto

I had very high expectations going in and he managed to beat them, the concert was simply mindblowing. Tons of fun, the whole audience loved it and the band really interacted with them well. After he finished everyone refused to leave, chanting for him to come back and when he did, they played a 40 minute encore! There really nothing else I can say except GO SEE HIM whenever you can, and tell your friends. More people should know about this great man and his message.

    JBT is Amazing

by SusanW on 2010-07-08Sound Academy - Toronto

JBT never disappoints me. It's my third time seeing him live and have to say everytime gets better. See him once and you'll understand why there are so many live recordings out there. Every concert is different, no staging, voice overs or fluff...just pure musical talent. The Sound Academy venue was a good place, kept us cool despite the heat wave outside. Only suggestion is that the parking lot should have more than one exit or someone directing traffic out. It took over 20 mins to get out of the lot.

Best Concert i have ever seen!!!!

by JBTfan on 2010-07-08Sound Academy - Toronto

I have been to many concerts including metallica, eagles, and alexisonfire. But nothing comes close to the performance JBT put on last night. It was the tightest and the most fun concert to be a part of.

    Blown away

by fleurie on 2010-06-08Commodore - Vancouver

Absolutely fantastic. Best band live...they beat Muse! I've seen them a couple of times and they only get better each time! Saw both their concerts and wow...!! Small venues are their fortes but they can play the big ones brilliantly as well.

John Butler Trio was PHENOMENAL!!!! A MUST SEE!!!!

by MissPidgeon on 2010-06-07Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I am a HUGE music buff - check out new bands as they come out and have known about John Butler Trio for about 5 years. Heard about him when I was in Australia but didn't get to go to the Byron Bay Music Festival to check him out - which was Super dissappointing. When i found out he was coming to Vancouver - I KNEW I WOULD NOT MISS IT!!!!!! I've seen a LOT of bands and he is for sure in my top 5 list - they rotate when I see them Fresh again - so right now he's #1... I do have to say I have a bit of a crush as well - SUCH a cool guy!!

    No doubt about it!

by bisaderf on 2010-06-03Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I would see these guys again. So entertaining, and the atmosphere was great. These guys know their stuff and put on a great show! Went with a friend who didn't really know their stuff, but came out a huge fan.

    Mediocre, wouldn't go again

    by Snickers93 on 2010-06-02Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Doors at 7 with no in/out and nowhere to smoke. I don't smoke but the rest of my group does. They didn't come on stage until after 10:30. Show was mediocre at best, playlist wasn't very good. Didn't play anything we knew/liked by them The Commodore itself was awesome but the show was a big disappointment

    Mind blowing

by Kinz on 2010-06-01Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I had high hopes for this show, and even still I was completely blown away!! I didn't know the opener State Radio, but they were great. The Commodore was a new venue for me since I don't live in Vancouver, but all the rave reviews I'd heard about that place were bang on - great space, great sound, great vibe. JBT were just phenomenal!! Great energy, lots of smiles and laughter, their sound was incredible, just a great, great show. After John played "Ocean" my boyfriend (who isn't a big JBT fan) turned to me and said, "That alone was worth the ticket price." :-D

    John Butler Trio was amazing!!!

by Spiritman on 2010-06-01Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

State Radio kicked off the show with a bang! Catchy melodies, beautiful vocal harmonies, and tons of energy. Then JBT came on and blew everyone away. JB has a unique singing style and a great voice that just draws you in. The set was a perfect balance of up-tempo songs full of raw funky flavour and slower tunes with perfectly constructed melodies. JB is a tremendous guitar player and seamlessly transitioned between acoustic 6-string, acoustic 12-string, banjo, and electric guitar. I can't say enough about this band; each member brings an authenticity that heightens the emotional impact of the music.
