Journey is a multi-platinum-selling rock band from San Francisco, California. Originally formed by former members of Santana, the Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band’s current lineup includes guitarist and backing vocalist Neal Schon, lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, bassist Todd Jensen and drummer Deen Castronovo. After releasing a few albums — including their self-titled 1975 debut — throughout the early ‘70s, Journey reached a new height of commercial success on the charts with Infinity (1978), Evolution (1979) and Departure (1980), all of which were certified multi-platinum in the U.S. The band earned their first chart-topping album in 1981 with Escape, which also yielded massive hits like “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Open Arms.” Over the decades, Journey has continued to release studio albums and tour the world as one of the best-selling rock acts in music history, with their most recent album, Freedom, released in 2022.

Amazing concert. Took me back to my youth. The greatest hits and the new songs did not disappoint
Being able to see a double header of such consummate musicians so late in the game was a dream come true. With such seasoned pros I had high expectations. Toto did not fail. The showmanship, musical skills and vocal harmonies were dead on. This performance made a so so fan of Toto into a huge fan. They were amazing. Then Journey came on. I knew that the lead singer was not Steve Perry but went into it ready to enjoy every minute regardless. At the start of their set you could barely hear Arnel Pineda's vocals. The band drowned him out. Then as his vocals were adjusted his vocals obviously had too much top and were tinny and seemed to have too much reverb. To top it off, the band was also tinny and producing way too much distortion. By the 5th song I found myself cringing more than not, finding sitting through the performance less than enjoyable. I'm not sure who was at fault for this, maybe the soundman, maybe someone dictating the sound mix during set up. Who knows. All I know is that I had to leave because of the poor mixing. I NEVER leave a concert but this was too much to sit through to the end. Toto has a new super fan but I'll always be disappointed with Journey's performance. Even if they had been more interactive with the audience like Toto, it wouldn't have helped. If this had been a concert with just Toto, I would be leaving 5 stars.
A great evening of fine musicianship & familiar songs. Worth the price to watch Steve Lukather & Neal Schon alone. A show I wish I could've seen in the 80's came close to being as good now. Pineda does a very good job especially on the ballads. I still miss Steve Perry but loved this version too. Catch this (mostly) 80's show before it's gone!
Overall, Toto and the Journey did a great job. It was an awesome experience for us, except the sound system wasn’t that great.
It was so great to see ToTo and hear all the old songs. But Journey was amazing...absolutely amazing. It's too bad that the Saddledome has horrible sound. Anyway, glad I went and I would go again if they came back!
Although it was my first time seeing Journey overall I felt they put on a good show. The older Journey most popular tunes came through very well but some songs hinged on putting you to sleep. Toto however put on a tight and energetic performance and interacted very well with the crowd. Was not expecting that and it made for a pleasant surprise.
Had such a fun time. One of the best concerts I've been to.
It’s just wonderful listening to these bands singing our favourite songs live. My husband and I enjoyed the concert so much that we’re hoping to see Toto and Journey performing live again soon!
I had a fabulous time at the Journey concert, and I was accompanied by my beautiful daughter for her birthday celebration. The opening band, Toto, was exceptional with a variety of talented musicians and songs we could all sing to. The connection with the audience was instant, energetic and exciting when Journey took the stage. The musicians, the incredible vocals, the audience singing and the interaction with the band was an amazing experience, taking some of us back to our glory days. I would have given the experience an excellent rating, except (at no fault of the band) the large man sitting next to me was very drunk and spilled some of his food and drink on me, and then to end the night, the valet parking service left a large dent in the driver's side door of my car.
Brought my mom. She hadn’t been to a concert since she was a teenager. Toto and Journey made it a memorable night! Arnel was full of energy and they sounded GREAT! She even got herself a T-shirt!
I did not expect to be amazed by such great performance. I grew up in the 90’s and seeing Journey and Toto live in concert was a treat. The set, the songs brought back a lot of memories, Arnel sure sounds like Steve but he has his own style and interpretation, he was energetic all around. The guys are all amazing considering some of the bands members were playing the last 50 years!
Exceptional show, both Toto and Journey were amazing, super talented musicians. Everyone played and sang their heart out!
Toto was great. Journey not so much - they need to stick to their hits and do less instr4maqntnl noise / waste of time
This was a fantastic concert. Toto was amazing and could have been the headliner and not the opening act. Journey was also a great show. The aging rockers know how to entertain better than ever and seem to enjoy it much more now as they hit their late 60’s and early 70’s A phenomenal show start to finish by both bands
I went in with medium/high expectations for the Toto/Journey show, but walked out completely blown away by the performances of both bands. Toto was brilliant with their sounds and vocals just as expected from the YouTube videos I have watched. Journey was more than just their new lead singer. I was mesmerized by how brilliant the guitar and piano playing was, as well as how great the drummer and keyboard players were with their vocals. Well worth the price of the show!!
Arnel Pineda is an amazing singer and l loved the fact that he went around and personally waved at everybody in the stadium. Journeys music was amazing loved the concert.
Spectacular concert. Both bands delivered all their hits and more. The music was fantastic and sounded great.
The music was good but way to loud they needed to tone it down because it was so loud you could not understand the words being sung. The music was ok but they need to stop playing like they are outdoors and its not just this group either.
It was awesome from the beginning to the end. The staff was great, the consession was terrific. The bands were great, they started on scheduled. They played great music, the sound system was great. It was a great time one that I won't forget.
Toto sounded great and put on a good show. Journey sounded terrible. The lead singers mic was drowning out the band. The crowd was really into it at the start but got quieter with each song and there were a few people leaving after each song. We took it for an hour and we finally left. I saw Journey in Vegas before Covid and they sounded good but this was not good. I do not usually complain about the shows as I am hoping to see the best show they ever put on but this sounded bad. How the opening band could sound so good and the starring band couldn’t doesn’t make sense unless it was poor mixing but oh well.
