    KT was amazing!

by Anonymous on 2010-11-25The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Such a great concert. She is so entertaining and is really responsive to the audience as well. The crowd went from quiet to rowdy by the end. An awesome performer. Her band was amazing too.

KT is simply a born performer

    by vancouver2010 on 2010-11-04Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

KT Tunstall is an amazing performer and her CD's always sound even more amazing after hearing her perform live. She's a tiny little rocket with such presence and personality. I love that she is able to sing beautiful melodies as well as rock out her endless guitars with her quirky but talented band. I love the Commodore as an intimate venue but have never stood up at the front of a show before. I deducted one star because I felt the sound quality wasn't the best, as I could hardly make out any of her lyrics. I don't know if that's what comes with the territory (literally) but nonetheless, I would go to see her again any day, anywhere!

    KT rocks my socks!

    by mike8 on 2010-11-03Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

KT Tunstall was fabulous the last time she was at the Commodore Ballroom and this time she was even better. Her voice is developing beautifully, into a less careful and more exciting sound. The new songs are really strong, with an interesting new edge from the electronica elements added to the mix. There's a sense of freedom and a deep spiritual feeling in the heart of her new music that came across throughout the gig. Her band rocked the magic - each member really nailed their multitasking brilliantly. Also, from checking their rather lame website and sound clips, I did not expect to enjoy the support act from NYC, the Hurricane Bells, but they actually were really cool and sounded nothing like their site suggested. Revamp your site, HB's... the singer reminded me visually of a young Bob Dylan, and their songs were fun and warmed up the crowd well for the magnificent performance that followed from a clearly very happy KT. Her hubby, the drummer, played with joy and serious groove and sounded awesome. I can't wait for her and her band to return to Vancouver BC - it's a fantastic new album too!

    Such a late start!

by Bagelboy on 2010-11-03Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

KT was great and I love The Commodore, but she came on at 10:30pm, which is so late for a Monday night. Doors opened at 8pm, so that's a looooong time. Some of us had to leave before her set ended. You know, babysitters and such. Real life... It's just not fair to buy tickets to a show with no clue as to when it actually starts. This doesn't happen in any other entertainment. Imagine going to a movie at 8 and finding out that it starts at 10:30. On the other hand, once went to see Elvis Costello and the ticket said 8pm and I arrived five minutes late and the show had started. There's just no way of knowing and that just isn't right.
