  • Brilliant and Passionate

by Pagefan on 2019-06-27Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I missed Lucinda 4 years ago due to a broken leg. This more than made up. The entire Car Wheels album but 8 more songs. 2 hrs and 23 minutes on my watch. Wonderfully and passionately performed by Lucinda and her fine band Buick 6. For me the two highlights among many were 'Joy' and 'Foolishness'. A true artist who should be brought back to play every year she is on tour. Her passionate songs struck a chord with everyone there. A great night, and probably one of the best shows of the year. I usually attend about 40 shows a year so we'll see come the end of December.

  • Great Show

I had never seen her live before. She put on a great show. Her band was just a 3 piece but they filled the room. Sound was great. I loved it.

  • Lucinda was great disrupters sucked.

There were a group of guests from “bell media” who got drink, ignored the show for the most part and made a massive amount of noise. Everybody around us was also negatively affected by them. They were oblivious. Server never told them to shut up and kept serving them alcohol. You need to make announcements at you shows at the start ti respect the performer and fellow audience members by not making noise or disrespecting the performer. This needs to then be enforced with obvious disrupters. It ruined the show. Lucinda though was amazing. It would have been great to actually hear her anecdotes. That’s why we went. You need to fix this. Three shows on a row we’ve had disrupters near us. They don’t listen to shhh. The promoter Ned’s to deal with this at the beginning of every show when they talk about cell phones and make introduction. Remind people that everyone paid to HEAR the artists not some rude loud mouth. Fix this problem.

  • Soulful lady

by Long distance traveler on 2019-06-27Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda brought the soulful south to Vancouver to celebrate the anniversary of one of her best. I struggle to define her style. No categories can hold her. Buick 6 are some of the most talented musicians I have had the pleasure of seeing. I am new to Lucinda’s work. My wife is a fan and brought me. So pleased we were there.

  • Great Guitar Driven Concert

by KenMarchant on 2018-06-20Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelRating: 5 out of 5

Started out hot with King Leg and got better from there. Could have been more cross over from the groups in duets. Clearly this started as 4 distinct sets from 4 bands and they are building collaboration as they go.

  • Powerful Protest

by Chrismayna on 2018-06-19Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelRating: 5 out of 5

Have been to a few Lucinda shows and up until Friday's the reviews would have been similar. However at Bethel Lucinda was levels above the previous performances. Political and angry propelled her performance. The confident power was amazing. The standing ovations proved the impact.
