Not as good as previous years

by Jackie on 2023-04-25FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

The only driver actually trying to entertain the fans was Megalodon, the rest were boring, barely any tricks. Even the motor cross disappointed. Both my 10 year old and 7 year old sons said they didn't enjoy it as much as previous years and sadly don't want to keep the annual tradition going for next year.

    Great venue and event

by Mbcharron on 2023-04-25FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Seats were amazing. Very close to the action. Great venue with lots of vendors and concessions so the lineups weren’t very long. Meet and greet with the drivers was totally worth it! Autographs and pictures with everyone made it extra special

Tiny arena, unlike Monster Jam big shows

by Al A on 2023-04-25FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

The show was well organized but indoor are a shows are tiny. There was just one ramp in the middle and the trucks only did time trials. Ie no car smashing or backflips. I guess this was due to safety concerns which makes sense. They had lots of toys etc to buy which made my son happy. Id recommend watching a show at a big outdoor field rather than indoor like this one

    Monster Jam

by Zee on 2023-04-25FirstOntario Centre - Hamilton

Venue was too small to host an event of this magnitude and alot was missing from the show compared to past Monster Jams in a Toronto.

Arena too small/ Bad city choice

    by J. R. on 2023-04-23

This review is not towards the drivers/performers but to the organizers/coordinators of the event. This was the worse place to hold a Monster Jam event. They pick a small concert arena to showcase 6-7 trucks which could not even perform most of the stunts. Not enough head way to even accelerate and maneuver. My recommendation, go back to Rogers Centre or pick a better venue. Also, the parking situation in Hamilton was unreal. The city apparently shut down a good portion of the usual common parking lots. The roads were gridlock as they are mostly one-way. Good luck getting around if you go down today. We will not go again unless the venue changes to bigger arena and bigger city is considered. And Tickmaster, please allow printed tickets. If I need to drop someone off to look for parking, they can get in, get our seats, use the bathroom and enjoy the event while I find parking.

    Monster trucks

by Undercat on 2022-08-27GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

Was a pretty good show . Only thing is they could have used more room so they could have made bigger jumps .

    Bigger needed

by Lil K on 2022-08-27GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

The trucks were amazing as always! The venue on the other hand way too small for what these trucks are really capable of doing! Smaller track, smaller tricks!

    My First Time

by Eman on 2022-08-26GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

Loved it overall, was even blessed to not have rain until near the end. I was really looking forward to crushing cars, and that was the main reason I went. Didn't know about all the other stuff that went on there, but that was still enjoyable. For me to go next year though, I'd really want to see cars getting CRUUSSHHEEDDD!!!

Very Very Loud with side of Smiles

by Kwats on 2022-08-25GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

Our first time at Monster Jam was quite the experience. We selected tickets that were seated near the top of the Grandstand to have rain cover and not be too close to the exhaust fumes ($40/ticket). It was the least expensive ticket. We could see everything well, even though we were off to the side. Only thing, is maybe we couldn't tell how high the jumps really were, which might have added to the wow factor. The lightning crack of the exhaust/engine was deafening – like louder than anything I’ve ever head. The reverb off of the concreate grandstand also made is worse. Ear Protection is a must and we ended up buying $25 ear muffs for the adults because we’d only brought one set for the 4-year old. To their credit Monster Jam priced them reasonably compared to other merchandise like cotton candy with plastic mask ($30) and snow cone in collector mugs ($30). We had a full line up of 8 trucks and they really gave it their all. Even after accidents they were quick to repair and finish the events. Lots of fan favorites like Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, Soldier Fortune and Megalodon. We also got the privilege of seeing the brand new 2022 Truck – Velociraptor. Which had a great paint job. Our son had plenty of smile and wow moments seeing the trucks doing all kinds of things – donuts were his favorite. There was a long intermission which is good for food and bathroom breaks – but created a long wait for a young child. He was ready to leave before the event was over. The Motocross Stunt Jumpers were a pleasant surprise – our son was thrilled by those and some of them were local Southern Alberta talent – which was nice. Great intermission type of show! It was great to give this a try – but probably not something our family would attend every year due to the price of tickets, parking, and concession all adding up to a lot for a working class family.

    Great show for the family!

by Kyle on 2022-08-25GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

Was a great show for the kids especially. Worth the money! Not too long (2 hours) and each event was fun. Would sit in grandstand for better view but overall 9/10 was awesome!

    Great time at monster jam

by Torrey on 2022-08-24GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

The show was awesome! The kids had an absolute blast! The parking was an absolute gong show; there was no direction whatsoever and it took forever to get in. In the future, folks attending events at the stampede grounds venue should aim to be paying for parking a minimum of a half hour before they want to be parked. That’s approximately how long it took us to park after paying. With that being said, we missed the first half hour of the show

    Great Experience!

by Jessica on 2022-08-24GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

The show was awesome! First time going and it the atmosphere and show didnt disappoint! The venue was great although there was not enough staff to have food and drinks stands opened so the line ups were nuts! Hope to go next time theyre in town!

    Under whelming

by Danielle on 2022-08-24GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

This was my first time going to monster jam. I will admit, it was very lack luster. The venue is not right for this event. Way too small! The trucks can’t even do what they are meant to do. Definitely need a bigger space. The food sucked and was extremely over priced! The cotton candy is a rip off and was not good. The snow cones at the same place were very unsanitary! I wouldn’t come to this event again, unless the venue changed. Highlights: the dirt bikes were great! The end of the monster truck show (freestyle) was the best part. Too bad it was only 20min. This show is for young kids. As an adult who knows and has seen what monster trucks can do, I was very disappointed ☹️ Let’s hope our new area/venue goes up soon so we can enjoy a better show next time.

    Okay

by 1st timer on 2022-08-24GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

It was geared towards kids as I expected but there was many moments where nothing was happening…No action. There was much time spent on prepping the trucks (right so) but perhaps they could find other ways to entertain…motor cross in between round vs only at halftime.

Great show, everything else, thumbs down

by Julie on 2022-08-24GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

Great show, Monster trucks were awesome! Lets talk seating. No coverage and of course it rained, an indoor event would have been ideal. Seats were hard, no cupholders. Better then concrete. Drinks... a bottle of water was $4.50, a bag of popcorn, $8.00. A snowcone- crushed ice- in a monster truck cup $30. Not enough food, line ups were ridiculous and staff were grumpy. Go to one line for hot dogs, another for popcorn, and only 2 open, but there were 3 places to get booze. Great for a family event 🤦‍♀️

    Amazing, but more space needed.

by ChuckLeighThree on 2022-08-24GMC Stadium (formerly known as Stampede Grandstand) - Calgary

The part of the show we saw was amazing, however traffic getting into the venue was horrible, with no directions given. There were still hundreds of vehicles in line when the show started. The show itself was great, however we felt like there wasn’t sufficient space to see the trucks open up. Would definitely go again if they were to return.
