excepting the ridiculous wait in line to get in (doors should have opened an hour earlier) and the poor venue, the music was exceptional. USS always rocks the house and I would recommend them to all if you like a time. M/M are great, especially their older material, though the new stuff is not quite so polished. The new album seems a lot darker in many songs but Get Out the Way and Monkey Tree ar estill very up beat. I would recommend both bands as must sees for alt music (and Canadian too).

Mother Mother was meh
by Mindy33 on 2014-12-07Shaw Conference Centre - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5USS (the opening band) was decent, but Mother Mother played too many slow songs, and it was boring at times. I think maybe their new album just isn't very good. However, they did eventually play all the songs I would have wanted to hear.
Mother mother and USS amazing
by Kezzatwist on 2014-12-07Shaw Conference Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5I went to this concert becauSe my husband is a fan of mother mother. The second USS came on stage I became a fan! Awesome high energy band. Got the crowd going crazy! Great sound! Mother mother also was fantastic! Way better than the last concert I was at (usher)
Mother Mother and USS put on an awesome show
by ircanuck on 2014-12-07Shaw Conference Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5They play incredibly live. Definitely a top 3 live band, for me. So much energy. I will be in the stands every time they come to Edmonton. Shaw conference center could've managed the line-up better.
Mother Mother w/USS-a must hear live show!!!
by TTG1974 on 2014-12-07Shaw Conference Centre - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5The energy these 2 bands brought to the stage was stupendous! We will definitely see them again if provided the opportunity. VIP experience w/Mother Mother was fantastic!! Really refreshing to see two acts give it their all on stage & express heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to perform.
USS great, Mother Mother mediocre
by Anonymous on 2014-11-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5The venue was great, no line-ups, no issues getting in, minimal line-ups for drinks. When we walked in 10 minutes into the show, USS already had the entire crowd rocking out. This continued steady until their last song. When Mother Mother came on, there was a serious lull in energy. Towards the end of their set, Mother Mother finally got the crowd back into it and came out for a solid encore.
USS Rocks
by kaleidoscopek on 2014-11-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5I hadn't seen either of these bands in person but I was familiar with USS music and not Mother Mother. Both talented bands in their own right however USS impressed me with their ability to heighten the senses during their set. Crowd participation was complete....they had the audiences attention from beginning to end. Because of the difference in the music the two bands play Mother Mother was just a little bit anti-climactic for me and the energy level definitely receded during their set. Overall a great night. Would definitely see these bands again!
Great concert!
by laffand on 2014-11-25Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5Awesome experience. USS opened and were fantastic. Mother Mother puts on a fantastic show every time!!

USS was amazing - great stage presence, energy, delivery. They really bring it on and engage the crowd. They played all their best known songs and kept everyone singing along. I would definitely recommend that you see USS for yourself. Mother Mother was technically perfect, great sound, and fantastic vocals, but they were a bit too structured, and so it didn't feel as fun. I'll admit I'm not as familiar with all their songs so the middle of the set where they played not so many of their well known songs it was less engaging.
Amazing show !
by Halogirl on 2014-11-23Algonquin College Commons Theatre - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5Well I have to say, I really enjoyed the show.. first time at this venue ... this was the second time seeing MOTHER MOTHER... Loved their new album tracks and it was a nice to get a few of the older songs played.... I would have liked to have heard "MY BABY DON"T DANCE".... USS was pretty awesome too... they are an interesting trio.... great energy... The light show was pretty good for the size of the show!
Mother Mother at Malkin Bowl
by nobigrealdeal on 2013-06-19Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5Great venue. Good live show. I've seen them play twice before and I don't think their energy was as high as previous, though my friend and I still had a dancy good time. In previous shows, the audience interaction was better; I have come to know Ryan Guldemond as an amazing performer and entertainer. While the musical energy was a little lacking this time round, so was that special rapport with the audience you usually get from him. I was also looking forward to the clarinet solo, which I'm pretty sure I got from one of their backing musicians last time. Still a big fan. Their music is great. I'll see them again.
Malkin Bowl an amazing venue to see Mother Mother!
by Melly88 on 2013-06-18Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5I have never been to the Malkin Bowl before, but I would not hesitate to go again! I would liken it to the outdoor version of the Commodore...casual and intimate! The opening act was Dustin Bental and the Smokes, and as friends of Mother Mother they certainly hit the right note to start the night off. Mother Mother carried to flow into a high energy and entertaining set filled with kick ass acoustics and bantering with the crowd. Overall it was an great show at a great venue!
band was great, people at venue were rude
by andipandi on 2013-06-17Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5the band was amazing, couldn't have done better. But being at malkin bowl there was huge group with backstage passes who were out of control. many drunks everywhere ruining the night. Too bad cuz the show wound have been excellent if they hadn't been there.

Truly amazing concert, soo much fun, holy crap! What else would you expect from Mother Mother though? And it was a really nice evening so the outside venue was great.
Mother Mother at Malkin Bowl was AMAZING!!
by voodoowitch on 2013-06-17Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5clear skies and impeccable sound made this event unforgettable. Mother Mother is amazing live:)
Opening Band Dominated
by evoeginge on 2013-06-17Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5Mother mother was terrible. They covered Nirvana. End of story. I've seen them live before in Toronto - but this performance is getting them deleted from my music library. The only song I went to see was played last - and they butchered it. The only reason I have it 3 stars was due to the opening band - The Smokes. They rocked it. AND totally saved it for me. Although I did bounce well before the encore from Mother Mother.
Unbelievable
by Anonymous on 2013-06-17Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Second time seeing them live, and was blown away! As soon as Molly and Ryan came running up to the stage i knew they were ready to rock and the crowd wasnt dissapointed. The sound was incredibly full, and a pleasant suprise. Jeremys bass was a highlight and as usuall the girls with ryan sounded perfect. Aside from all the usual hits and setlist staples like "the stand" and "body of years" some serious deep cuts and much appreciated additions were "happy" and a captivating performance by Molly of "sleep awake". Coupled with the beatiful malkin bowl and awesome weather, Ryan was right in saying the show was "our little secret" highlight of my summer hands down! Thank you Mother Mother!
Mother Mother are Great!!!
by swaston17 on 2013-06-17Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5This group is excellent in concert! This was my 2nd time seeing them in the past year and they rock! Super entertaining, I definitely recommend seeing them in concert!
Mother Mother is amazing!
by Anonymous on 2013-04-10Clarke Theater - MissionRating: 5 out of 5Absolutely loved this concert! it was awesome just being in an intimate venue and just hearing their music. The lights went perfectly with the show too. I loved the music they chose. Old and new hits! I can't wait to go again! Even came out after the show to meet them!
Mezmorising
by Laurenski on 2013-01-17The Venue/The Commodore Ballroom - Peterborough/VancouverRating: 5 out of 5I have seen Mother Mother twice now (once in Vancouver, once in Peterborough) and I would not dare turn down another opportunity to see them again. I took my dad the second time, he has seen some greats (Bowie/Who/Dylan/Stones) and put this performance in that league, that's saying something I'd say! There's nothing spectacular about the show, it's just amazing musicianship and amazing energy. It's loud, it's clean, it's wonderful.
