The 2023 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic is set to feature the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. It will celebrate the 20-year anniversary of hosting the first-ever NHL regular-season outdoor game in the 2003 NHL Heritage Classic, a 4-3 win for the Montreal Canadiens over the Oilers in front of 57,167 fans on November 23, 2003. Including that game, there have been 37 regular-season outdoor games played to date, attended by 1,851,642 fans. The Flames-Oilers outdoor matchup will mark the seventh NHL Heritage Classic, which includes the inaugural game in Edmonton (2003), as well as games in Calgary (2011), Vancouver (2014), Winnipeg (2016), Regina (2019) and Hamilton (2022).
This year’s NHL Heritage Classic will take place on October 29, 2023, at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta, home of the Edmonton Elks of the CFL.

Nickelback will perform at the 2023 Heritage Classic. The Diamond-certified rock band, which was also recently inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, will take the stage during the second intermission.
The Beaches will also be the featured performer at the SiriusXM Canada Pregame Concert, which will be held at Clarke Stadium. The SiriusXM Canada Pregame Concert is free and open to the public, and is set to take place at 2:30 p.m. MT.
I had a great time attending the Heritage Classic and would go again in a heartbeat. Well worth the trip from Yellowknife as a life-long Flames fan. Lots of fun. Great atmosphere! Everyone had a great time, Flames fans and Habs fans alike. The weather was perfect for an outdoor game. The surpirse of Metric playing the 2nd period break was just a bonus!
The Event was something we were glad we went to, chance of a lifetime, wish it was warmer though. Too bad the ice was is such bad condition, otherwise a great event to attend.
the entertainment was poorly targeted for the audience. I was very disappointed with it.
Nice experience but wish people would have been directed more properly from C-Train station. Awesome atmosphere. Great people. great teams. Candian Athem was soooooooo sloooooooow.
What a fabulous atmosphere - a fun time was had by all. A great show by the NHL and the Flames and it seemed to go off without a hitch. The feel of the outdoor game brings back memories of playing outside under the lights of the community rink. Canada should do more of these outdoor NHL games more often. Once every seven years isn't near enough!!
Great event. A few minor planning details would have made the experience a bit better but overall not many complaints

Overall was awesome, the only thing that could of made it more special is if TICKETMASTER would have provided the Collectors Edition Ticket Stub for the event, instead of the boring generic ticket that they print for everything.
So great, every Canadian city should have one every year! Trust Edmonton to cook up an event like this - so cold and so terrific.
Super event, ticket master did a great job getting us our tickets, just a shame they were ordinary tickets not souvenir quality.
Game was good. Set up was good. One thing that really bothered us was we stood in line forever outside to buy beer tickets only to get into the event & most of the sellers wanted cash instead. That was quite annoying as we would have prefered to use cash & wouldn't have had to wait in line.
Spectator plaza, the outdoor romance, the pageantry, and the crowd atmosphere made this a unique and memorable experience. It's hard to say if this will be remembered by anyone but the Flames organization and its fans, but the fact is that Calgary was a great host for this event and no one can ever take it away from us. The NHL and CBC provided great build-up and coverage of the event. I even managed to win a $240 HD video camera in spectator plaza. My date - fully decked out in Habs gear - enjoyed herself until the final buzzer. Most Habs fans in the stadium appeared much the same, as this was more about the "event" and the sport of hockey rather than the game itself.
Fantastic memory - really enjoyed myself at the game in spite of the cold, the humungous lines for everything, etc.
The event was great, but Mcmahon Stadium wasn't equipped to handle 10,000 ppl above capacity. Bathroom line-ups were 30 min long. Beer line-ups were pretty bad too. That put a damper on an otherwise great event.
Great event, once in a life time. NHL, Flames and Canadians put on a great show. World class event!
What an amazing game! We had great seats. It was the event of a lifetime for myself, my husband and our 4 year old son! We even got Carey Price to autograph my son's jersey! It was truly amazing.
Awesome experience. Hopefully Calgary will be fortunate enough to hold another Heritage Classic in the future.
Had a ton of fun---Mcmahon stadium from what i could see was a dive though----Waited for almost 20 minutes to go to the mens room then another 10 minutes to get back to my seat which was only a section and a half away from the mens room that i used. it seemed as if there were too many people and and not enough space for people to get bwhere they needed to go. Great game though---Contemplated taking my young son and was super glad i didn't because the common spaces would have been a great struggle for anyone keeping an eye on younger kids.
The Classic was awesome. Sooo much fun and the experience of a lifetime. Only one issue was a person who can't handle his liquor and threw up on my daughter. It was near the end so it was okay that she could leave. Grow up. Still we didn't let this ruin the experience.
It was cold, the Canadiens lost, the lines were long for food drinks and the washroom, but this STILL was one of the most incredible events I have ever watched. It was so much fun to be a part of!!
