About

Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful rock bands in history. Since the release of their breakthrough third album — 2001’s Silver Side Up — the Canadian post-grunge rockers have sold over 50 million albums worldwide, with multiple Top 10 hits, four Grammy nominations, and 12 Juno Awards. Career-defining hits like “How You Remind Me,” “Photograph,” and “Rockstar” have made Nickelback a diamond-certified selling group, and the second best selling foreign act in the U.S. in the 2000s (behind only The Beatles). “How You Remind Me,” a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, was named the most-played song on U.S. radio (in any format) in the 2000s by Nielsen Soundscan. Since forming in 1995 in the town of Hanna in Alberta, Canada, the high-octane rockers have been on 12 consecutive sold-out world tours, playing to over 10 million fans worldwide.

    Weather sucked

by letsrock on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

I'm sure if Nickleback played they would have been awsome, but mother nature saw fit to cause problems. The concert was cancelled. Papa roach was awsome and so was hinder, I didn't get to see much of Saving abel but the song I heard was great.

Nickelback - The concert that never happened

    by AYoung29 on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

I can't believe it. My first Nickelback concert, and the lightning ended it. They were like 10 minutes from starting it again. I think that there should be some sort of refund, as 50% of the concert was done. Not impressed with that.

    RAINED OUT!! :(

    by Tammyrey20 on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

So it was with great anticipation that I went to my first Nickelback show last night at the Molson Amphitheatre. Saving Abel opened the show with a rather short set. Pap Roach then warmed up the crowd and got some people out of thier seats. Hinder did a fantastic job in getting the crowd involved and singing along. The Nickelback portion of the show was JUST about to start when the severe weather warning was posted on the monitors - asking US people who had lawn seats to vacte and head to our cars. Many people refused to move for a long time and we were greeted by security removing people off of the lawn after a few were also bodysurfling down the hill - as most were slipping anyway. The LIGHTENING in the sky was fantastic to watch. Everyone was mesmerized and no one wanted to leave - even when the concert was finally called due to the rain with the promise that they will look into rescheduling the show - keep a watch through livenation for more details. I understand why they did it - for everyone's safety - but the majority of the people in the crowd had come prepared. I only hope that we will get a chance in the near future to have the show rescheduled for all the fans who waited around in the hopes of getting to see the boys!!

    Nickelback that wasn't

by negrita on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Well we got there at 6 to see all the acts. Saving Able, Papa Roach and Hinder were great! As we waited for Nickelback storm clouds came in fast. They delayed the show and evacuated the lawn for safety reasons. We waited from just after 8 til just after 10 to be told the show was being cancelled. That sucked!!!! But it was better to be safer than sorry. Hopefully they will be back soon to give us the concert we did not see.

    Nickelback disappointment

by Reese on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

It was disappointing that the concert was cancelled. I saw them in March and in 2007 and they were great. It is honorable that they thought of the safety of all the fans but we had friends and family fly in for this concert and some do not know if they can return for the rescheduled show.

Let it Rain, Let it Rain!!!

    by Frontside720 on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Well.... I feel sorry for anyone who does not live in the city and the select few that had saved up their money and vacation time to come see Nickelback because there was no show!! As everyone knows, Nickelback was cancelled do to the storm but here's my take on things... Saving Abel - Didn't See Papa Roach- I'm a fan of Papa Roach and they sounded fantastic and were extremely high energy. Jacoby (lead singer) took a stroll through the crowd and walked through every seated section. This was a crowd pleaser. Hinder - I have never been a fan of hinder and I decided to get some beer/food at the beginning of their set but I did catch the end of it and I was really really surprised. They again were high energy and sounded fantastic. Like the Jacoby, Austin (Hinders lead singer) walked through the crowd and stopped two rows directly above us (Section 303 Row G, Seat 1-4) and sang the balance of one of their tunes. Nickelback - Cancelled As I was leaving there was lots of talk about Chad should have come out and talked to everyone or played an acoustic show but you need to look at it this way... #1) Chad or the band do not want to be the ones to come out and say "Sorry, we want to play but they wont let us" it does no good for the band nor the venue. #2) Play an acoustic show? Why not play a regular show. I think the organizers should have came on the radio and said "There is a sever weather warning and there has been numerous lightning strikes in the area. There's a very high possibility that lighting will strike this venue and we have seen it strike the grass in the past. If you would like to stay, you are 100% responsible for your own actions and we the venue and performers are not responsible in the result of any accidents." Then Nickelback could have played and everyone would have been happy. Nice theory but I guess with all the intoxicated individuals they wouldn't have the proper capacity to make a judgement decision. Anyways... I'll see them when they return.

    Nickelback was rained out.........................

    by 1Moose1 on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Took my girlfriend to the concert :) Good seats too. Unfortunately, at around 9ish, the lightening in the sky became the show. What a down pour. The storm took centre stage and Nickleback could not perform. Sure hope they reschedule their show for us. :( If Nickleback was able to perform it would have been a 5 star event.

by frankp on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

What can i say but didn't see Nickelback, got soaked due to the amazing storm. We were told to goto our cars and wait til the storm blew over but nobody said anything afterwards that it was cancelled and nothing has been said since. We were truly looking forward to a great show now we'll never know!

    Rained out

by PaulaB on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

We were only able to see the opening acts before the thunder storms blew in. After waiting for an hour we were sent home without seeing them. Not real happy about that but then again you can't control the weather.

    Nickelback Cancelled

by thehandofchaos on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Overall the show was going somewhere, Papa Roach stole the show (since nickelback canceled) Saving abel was good but only 20 minutes long, papa roach got involved with the crowd and were awesome live, 40 minutes for them, hinder rocked also, cool stage setup and they were 45-60 minutes. then the huge storm kicked in, they evacuated half the crowd (boy were they mad) they delayed for over an hour then when the rain finally stopped they canceled. I would have liked to have seen nickelback. crowd control in both evacuation and exit was a joke. Oh they state no cameras but everyone had one (I wasn't happy, they say sealed bottles ok but they made us throw out our water, and a 5 bucks a bottle on a 43degree day that sux) I'm taking my camera for the rescheduled make up show.

    nickelback was a disappointment

by pmaxx on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

We watched two opening bands that were not so wonderful for a first time concert for my 11 yr old daughter. I would recommend in the future ticketmaster be very clear as to the content of the opening bands and perhaps rate wether they would be suitable for a younger audience. Finally we were ready to see Nickelback and it started raining and lighting so we never saw them play. What a shame.

    Rain or shine???

by sdiego on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Saving Able, Papa Roach and Hinder were great! Then the rain came. There was no Nickleback for those on the lawn. Tickets say rain or shine, but the show did not go on for us. We were told to leave beacuse of the rain. Granted it was raining alot, but we all came prepared. I don't know if they actually performed or not, but if a ticket says rain or shine, it should be rain or shine.

    Cancelled due to lightening

by PJGIRL on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

The opening acts were great. Papa Roach and Hinder were especially interactive with the fans and put on an exciting show. Sadly, right after the third opening act ended, it started to pour rain and the lightening in the sky was extreme. So extreme, that Nickelback was cancelled. I thought the spokesperson for the Amphitheatre was very effective in informing us of what was going on and wanted everyone to be safe. I am looking forward to the re-scheduled date-- I just hope we don't have to watch any opening acts for it, and get straight onto Nickelback.

    POOR Promoter

by Mart on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

They had 3 opening bands that played for over 2 hours. then the rain came and they cancelled the show. They security for the event was pathetic, the livenation crew did not have a clue what they were doing. And for an all ages event Papa Roach was using language and terms that were not appropriate for some there. The promoter had different rules than the park as far as what you could bring in, and the security guards were very very untrained.

    OK

    by Jonny75 on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

The venue and atmosphere were great. Too bad about the weather. Hopefully this can be rescheduled as we were really looking forward to seeing Nickelback play. On the plus side, Hinder were really good.

    Nickelback was cancelled

by Neurofifi on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

They cancelled the concert due to rain and lightening after making us wait for 2hrs. They decided to make the cancellation announcement when the rain had stopped because there was still some lightening in the distance. It was a huge disappointment. However, Hinder (opening for Nickelback) were good and we were lucky enough that they finished their set just before the rain started.

    Disappointing

by Sherin on 2009-08-10Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Caught the end of Papa Roach... what a great band! Unfortunately, we thought that they would be the third act, and missed most of their set. I'm not a Hinder fan, but they put on a pretty good show. We were the last covered row at the Amphitheatre so managed to stay dry. I understand why they had to shut down the show... the storm was major. It would have been nice for Nickelback to make an appearance; maybe an acoustic set.
