About

Pantera is a heavy metal band formed in Arlington, Texas in 1981 by brothers Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell, and is currently composed of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. After a number of buzzy releases throughout the 1980s, the band dropped their breakout album, Cowboys From Hell, in 1990, which established Pantera as leaders in the groove metal genre. The first group to land an extreme metal album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their 1994 album Far Beyond Driven, Pantera were hailed as torchbearers of the genre, paving the way for a long and successful reign that included two subsequent albums and four Grammy nominations. The pioneering band has sold over 20 million albums over the course of their career and are credited as a musical inspiration by many acts in the metal space. Pantera entered a hiatus in 2001, and shortly thereafter, founding member Dimebag Darrell was killed onstage in 2004. A new era began when surviving members Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown returned to the road in 2023 for their first tour as Pantera in over 20 years. Now, the band is set to embark on a 2025 outing, titled Pantera’s The Heaviest Tour of the Summer.

Awesome show! Pantera didn’t disappoint! Highly recommended!

  • They still have it!

The pre concert experience with ticketmaster was a headache because they needed to move our tickets, but over a couple of days I made it work. The concert itself, I was a fan of both Lamb of God and Pantera, both knocked it out of the park, great sound, great vocals, loved the show. Took my 12 year old, didn't really see another kid there but he loved the show as well.

  • Pantera Forever

by GaryW on 2024-02-20Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

They were absolutely amazing. Philip sounded great, love him! Rex and his thunderous bass, on point and eternal! Charlie is an incredible drummer, honoring Vince Paul the Brickwall. And Zakk....Zakk was god-like on stage with the ultimate tribute to Dime and the #1 person to be up there. Light and stage show were freaking awesome and not enough props go to the crew in the background...amazing job! Will see again as soon as I can!

  • Amazing performance. Great tribute to the brothers.

At first I was a little sketchy about this New PanterA tribute. I had my doubts about it. But wow was I wrong. Probably the best Metal concert Ive ever attended. I was impressed with all bands on the bill, PanterA, Lamb of God and Child Bite. Very well done.

  • Darn good

by DirtyP on 2024-02-19Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

by Lateralusguy on 2024-02-19Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Easy to buy merch at the venue, easy to find seats, helpful staff, and great choices of food and beverages at the show. Lamb Of God was awesome, and Pantera absolutely crushed it!

  • Too Heavy

by KR on 2024-02-19Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Childbite was heavy, Lamb of God was Heavier, then Pantera smashed us! The staff could not be nicer and was very helpful. Thanks to everyone who was involved in making dreams come true!😎🤘🤘

  • A Nice Tribute

by Smitty on 2024-02-19Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Affordable concert with generic lighting and effects that would’ve been what the brothers would want, to focus on the music. As good as Zakk Wilde is, he could not nail the solos and riffs that dimebag had nailed down in the 2002 show I attended but tried very hard. The drummer was spot on, but the drum sounds throughout all acts overpowered everything except Phil who sounds amazing with his voice audible and clear through the drumming

  • Cowboys from Hell.

    by turtleboy668 on 2024-02-19Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

it was a great time thanks accept for the cameras in front of me so I only saw half the stage but that was no doubt my fault for choosing a bad seat choice.

  • Great lineup of bands.

by Lump on 2024-02-19Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great concert. Child Bite brought a great energy and I became a fan right away (great merch, by the way!) I knew every Lamb of God and Pantera song. The crowd was into it all night.

  • Great show

    by TSal77 on 2024-02-19Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Always wanted to see Pantera but in my personal opinion, I feel that nobody can match the style of shredding that Dimebag brought to us. Zakk did a great job but it just wasn't the same. That being said I'm so happy I got to see that show. Was a great night. 🤘
