    Paul Potts was remarkable!!

by Celticman on 2009-07-21Elgin Theatre - Toronto

The show was terrific and Paul was very open and down to earth as he spoke between songs about his life and how this new singing career has changed his life. The orchestra was excellent and the Elgin Theater provided a wonderful venue for such a wonderful performer.

Paul Potts was a joy to watch and listen to

by Mifflen on 2009-07-20Elgin Theatre - Toronto

Paul Potts was indeed a pleasure to see and hear. He seems genuinely grateful for his success and clearly loves every minute of it ... Not only did he thank the audience for supporting him by buying his CD's, but also doleing out more cash to come and see him in person. Something, he said, he will never forget. He even stayed behind after to sign autographs. I will definately go and see him again. Even my 18 year old son who has never heard opera, liked him. That is High Praise!

Paul Potts - a Thrilling Performance

by BelindaE on 2009-07-20Elgin Theatre - Toronto

Paul Potts' performance at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto was truly wonderful. Although his stage presence may be somewhat stiff during performance when compared to Italian greats, it is made up for his British humor between pieces and his genuine love for performing. Potts' selections were a good mix of well-known and lesser-known pieces. It was beautiful to have a live orchestra accompanying Potts. The guest performer chose to use recordings for accompaniment (though occasionally relying on the orchestra's violins) which was somewhat disappointing. Her Italian accent was not ideal, but her remarkable voice made up for it. The staff at the Elgin went to great efforts to offer free upgraded seats to audience members where space was available.

    Potts needs more practice

by froglover on 2009-07-20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Never been to his show before, he was a good singer, but needs more practice being in front of an audience. Singing in Italian was beautiful, but if you don't understand the language it is hard to understand the words, maybe he could sing in English more often in his English tours. His humour is very English, very dry. But although i enjoy opera, Italian is fine by me, but i looked around and alot of people looked like they would rather be home sleeping.

    Paul Potts was amazing

by DJDJ on 2009-07-20Elgin Theatre - Toronto

The evening with Paul Potts was absolutely delightful and it went by so quickly we would have liked to stay longer. The man is so humble and has such an amazing voice. We saw him at Roy Thomson Hall last year and we were so pleased to get tickets again this year. What we really enjoy is the fact that you do not have to be avid opera goers to enjoy his concerts. Congratulations, Paul.

    Great headline, bad guest

by Cesar on 2009-07-20Elgin Theatre - Toronto

Paul Potts was great!! the songs, the emotion was better than what we were expecting. However, the guest singer, Diana... something... was awful!! she went of tone more than 10 times, and the songs were boring. She sand 2 good songs out of 8. paul needs to find a better partner.

    Paul Potts

by Tertle on 2009-07-19Elgin Theatre - Toronto

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Left the theatre completely satisfied. I knew I wasn't going to see Pavarotti, Carreras or Domingo. Why all the high brow comparisons. Paul put on a wonderfully entertaining evening. It was refreshing to be part of the audience, entertained by such a humble, seemingly genuine individual who has his own specific talent and gave it his all.

    Paul Potts shines in Toronto

by Soccermal on 2009-07-19Elgin Theatre - Toronto

Paul Potts blew me away last night in Toronto. My analysis of a man who won a major talent show effectively by singing one song . Could he perform an entire repetoir of classic songs to a large audieance. The answer was an enfatic YES YES YES. Paul Potts also mixed his performance with his brand of humour and stories of his past. This only made his down to earth appeal even greater. I stood in line and had his CD liner notes and poster signed by the man himself. He genuinely thanked me for coming to his show. We shook hands and bid each other farewell. As I walked away I turned to see him greeting the next person in line . A line stretching back into the Theatre. A great ending to a great show.

it's great to see someone come from nowhere and have a voice like that. We really enjoyed his singing, but could have done with less of the guest singer.

    Paul Potts was outstanding

    by Freedom1 on 2009-07-19Elgin Theatre - Toronto

Paul Potts was everthing I thought he would be and more. His repertoire had a mix of Italian and American classics. He was very engaging with the audience as he talked about the meaning behind the music and some personal anecdotes about his own life.

PAUL POTTS IS EVEN BETTER THAN TWO YEARS AGO

by TOTALFAN on 2009-07-19Elgin Theatre - Toronto

I was a fan when he won the Britain. I bought his first CD and now his second and I believed when I saw him at Roy Thompson Hall he was a star in the making. He has become less shy, but it is still part of his charm. He has improved his schtick between songs. I look forward to seeing him again. I was not as fond of his guest singer as I was of the Three Graces.. who were awesome. Good Job Paul

    Paul Potts

by seniorlady on 2009-07-19Elgin Theatre - Toronto

It was a great concert. Paul Potts has an amazing voice and is very personable. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening. Just wish there had been more people there; Paul deserved more from our city. I don't think the Elgin did enough promotion for Paul. A shame!
