There aren't enough words to describe how amazing Paul's performance was. He gives me goosebumps every time I hear him sing and his performance on June 28th (Calgary) was no exception.
I recently discovered Paul by watching YouTube videos of this years "Britain's Got Talent". I clicked on this 'Paul Potts' character, and to my own amazement, I literally filled up with tears. I had no idea what this emotion was, that was built up so strong inside me, all I knew was I HAD to hear Paul perform live. I hopped onto Ticketmaster when I heard he was on the way, and I bought 2 tickets for the front row... I'm sure the music would have sounded outstanding no matter where I sat, (The venue is known for having a great sound)...but I just had to see Paul close up... Throughout the performance I tried my hardest to fight back any sign of emotion ; )
After the 2 and a half hour performance, I was blessed with the opportunity to meet Paul as he came outside, and from my messages on twitter, he had already known my name and had written "All the best, Matthew" followed by his autograph... I just stood there mesmerized, haha. Paul is truly an artist and one who really cares about his fans, especially if he picked me out of the crowd like that and that he has time to follow twitter.
I did manage to hold back tears in public, but as soon as I hit the seat in my car and turned on Paul's music, The Nile River was flowing fast.
2 weeks later, I keep thinking to myself... "When is Paul's concert?" ... Maybe I'm just in denial that it is actually over : ( but If I had the money, I would buy tickets to all of Paul's performances, just to support him, and know that his dream will never end.
I could go on and on forever about that night, but the truth is, you really have to experience it yourself in order to know what it feels like. Like I said, there are not enough words to explain how amazing this performance was and how much it meant to me.
Thanks so much to Paul, The Jubilee Auditorium, and Ticketmaster for allowing such an opportunity to happen.
