About "Horizons"
World-renowned physicist Professor Brian Cox brings his immersive live experience, "Horizons: A 21st Century Space Odyssey," to North America.
"Horizons" takes us on a dazzling cinematic journey. A story of how we came to be and what we can become.
The deepest of questions will be explored using the latest advances in our understanding of quantum theory, black holes, biology, planetary science, astronomy and cosmology. Using state-of-the-art LED screen technology, venues will be filled with images of far-away galaxies, alien worlds, supermassive black holes and a time before the Big Bang.
"Horizons" is a celebration of our civilization, of our music, art, philosophy and science; an optimistic vision of our future if we continue to explore Nature with humility and to value ourselves and our fellow human beings. Brian will once again be joined by co-host of The Infinite Monkey Cage and award-winning comedian Robin Ince, perhaps the only collection of sentient atoms in the observable Universe capable of overseeing a Q&A with an audience of 10,000 people while wearing an old cardigan.
About Professor Brian Cox
Professor Brian Cox CBE is Professor of Particle Physics at The University of Manchester, The Royal Society Professor for Public Engagement in Science and a Fellow of the Royal Society.

He is credited with boosting the popularity of subjects such as astronomy and physics and has garnered a host of accolades for his TV work, including two Royal Television Society awards and a Peabody Award for Wonders of the Solar System.
Brian has also authored a series of best-selling books, including the widely acclaimed Human Universe. Brian broke his own Guinness World Record titles during his last live tour, Universal, for most tickets sold (158,589) for a science tour, and for most tickets sold for a science show (11,433 at The Arena in Birmingham in 2019).
Brian was just a good live as he is on screen. Would definitely recommend for anyone even remotely interested in science.
I would certainly recommend this to all my family and friends. Professor Brian Cox and Robin Ince are very entertaining while imparting major theories in a way that is easy to follow for the layman. I gained significant understanding of these theories I had only heard of before.
The presentation and lecture was really eye opening. Brian put very complicated physics down to a level that was easy to follow but difficult comprehend the size of the universe. Very thought provoking talk....i was on the edge of my seat the whole time...life changing stuff!!!!!
Drove 750 kms. to see Professor Cox. Well worth it! Bravo!
What an interesting event this was . . . a little above my knowledge level; however, I did get the gist of what he was enlightening us about! Brian was very entertaining along with his partner in crime Robin Ince. Even for a layperson, I am really glad I went!
awesome experience. wasn’t expecting on-screen live equations, but it was fun to try and piece it together haha
Brian Cox was amazing and engaging. It would have been a 5 star review had there been air conditioning. It was incredibly hot in the theatre and made me sleepy.
Pretty much what you see on tv is what you get in-person! Same positive aura, personality, and presence. Brian was engaging throughout the presentation, never a dull moment, and he inspired the audience to have an open mind on theories / concepts which didn’t discriminate or exclude. I definitely recommend attending his show!
Enjoyable learning experience. If you enjoy documentries youll enjoy Brian Cox
Time flew by as the presentation was so engaging! Informative and who knew science could be so much fun!
The event was a worthwhile drive from Kamloops, BC and the venue was perfect. SAIT is also a beautiful campus. My only criticism was that the show started at 8pm and I presumed that meant the doors would be closed at 8pm. The show started on time but guests continued to stream into the auditorium once the lights went out and people were trying to find their seats with the flashlights on their phones. This was very disruptive and I missed the first 10 minutes of the presentation due to the distraction. Other than the obvious fact that people are so rude that they can't attend an event on schedule....my question is why did the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium attendants allow these people into the venue when they were late? Shouldn't the doors be "locked"?
Got answers to some questions that have been bothering me. It was wonderful to see over 2500 people interested in science !!
As a pretty avid physics and cosmology reader, but still a layperson, this event was spectacular. Many of the concepts presented were familiar to me, but the way they were presented was novel, and provided fresh perapective and some great discussion afterwards.
This "Show" was soooo enlightening. Super cool, super interesting, super scary and funny too. I would totally go to Brian's next lecture; I mean Show...
The show was great but the management at SAIT was super bad. The food was expensive, not enough staff for the amount of patrons and inside the auditorium was super hot. They did not care to put on a bit of AC.
While i am a bit of a dilettante on the subject of the show, my wife, who attended with me, was totally lost. I watch his TV shows and find him an amazing story teller. I had hoped the show would be a little more wide ranging for the benefit of first timers.
Cox is a teacher that can explain the difficult subjects with clarity and passion!
Hi t was good but I expected a bit more. Maybe because I already knew a lot in this space (no pun intended)!
Another brilliant lecture by the awesome Professor Cox. The graphics were outstanding and I could clearly hear every word he said. I can't figure out how he can explain complex issues like how a black hole works; and I get these lightbulb moments, but my entire school experience with math/physics is like being hit with a brick. As usual, he did not disappoint.
We really enjoyed this show - visually stunning, science given in a humorous and “real people” manner. More like this should come to Edmonton!!!
