Red Hot Chilli Peppers on Tour

To many, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are more than just a Los Angeles rock band from the '80s -- they're musical pioneers who took the world by storm with their eclectic blend of funky, alternative punk rock laced with hip-hop that sounded unlike anything anyone had heard before. The band first formed in Los Angeles in 1983 and quickly gained a following large enough to sell 300,000 copies of their debut self-titled album. Over the next few years, the band experimented with different musical genres and went through lineup changes, proving themselves to be one of the most innovative and resilient rock groups in recent history. In 2022, the Grammy-winning band released Unlimited Love -- their 12th studio album and first one with original guitarist John Frusciante since 2006's Stadium Arcadium. Celebrating the release of the new album, the band hit the road for a global tour featuring all four original members -- vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and Frusciante.  Be sure to see this legendary ensemble back in action performing classic hits and new songs by grabbing tickets to see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in a city near you today.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers Live in Concert

In 1987, Red Hot Chili Peppers were named Band of the Year by LA Weekly, but the band really hit their stride with their fourth album, 1989's Mother's Milk, which cracked the Billboard 200 and went gold a year later. The RHCP had earned worldwide recognition by the time they dropped Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991). The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and the album's first single, "Give It Away," took off like wildfire, soaring to the top of the charts and eventually winning the band a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal in 1993. The album also featured the single "Under the Bridge," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- their highest-charting single to date. To promote what some might call the Red Hot Chili Peppers' magnum opus, 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, three of the era's biggest bands -- Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam -- joined the Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour as opening acts. Whenever it was time for the headlining set to come on, seeing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in concert would always feel like an invigorating burst of energy for all the people packed into sold-out stadiums. Their funk-rap breakdowns, animated stage presence, and minimal clothing attire offered relief from the brooding grunge of the punk-metal status quo. All in all, Blood Sugar Sex Magik was a tremendous commercial success, selling 12 million copies to date, cinching the #186 position on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 500 Albums of All Time, and winning three out of the seven MTV Music Award nominations it received.

The band made the Rolling Stone Top 500 list a second time with Californication (1999), their seventh studio album and most successful yet with 16 million copies sold. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers supported the album on tour for two consecutive years at sold-out venues across the world. The album lit a californi-craze for the RHCP that has burned steady since. The first live album, recorded during a 2004 Red Hot Chilli Pepper concert in Hyde Park, was the No. 1 event of the year on Billboard's Top Concert Boxscores with a record-breaking number of 258,000 fans and a total of over $17 million in tickets sold in the span of three nights.

Since then, they've been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2012), released a handful of more albums: 2006's Stadium Arcadium, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200; 2011's I'm With You, which hit No. 2; and 2016's The Getaway, which also peaked at No. 2.

    Bring back the classics.

by MPS on 2023-04-03BC Place - Vancouver

6 or 7 of the songs I had never heard and of those I only liked one. Every single one of their classic songs however was incredible, as was their entrance, the subtle improvisations and the energy they carried through the show. From where I sat it seemed the crowd responded far better to the classics too. I left wishing they had played more of them.

    Just okay

by Old Fan on 2023-04-03BC Place - Vancouver

While I know they have sooo many hits, they forgot about so many of them! Didn't connect with the audience much at all considering it was the first night of their tour. Played for basically 90 mins. I wished for a bit more.

    Best sound

by CJ on 2023-04-03BC Place - Vancouver

Literally sat the farthest from the stage and I was able to hear everything so clearly even with the crowd singing. The drums, the guitars and the vocals were so clear! Saw the Weeknd same venue and the sound was horrible and I was seated closer at that time but still upper bowl.

    It was amazing

by Marjorie on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

Other then the extremely drunk people beside us it was amazing! The sound, the merchandise and the energy. I did not enjoy that one of the drunk ppl did not have a seat in the section I was in so she sat on her boyfriends lap and was blocking the way and since they were drunk I didn't feel comfortable asking them to move so I can get by to go to the washer other than that it was amazing concert I cannot complain about any of the acts they were all sounded amazing and it was a once in a lifetime experience

by Tony on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have always been one of my all time favourite bands, and seeing them live in Vancouver on 29/3/23 was an unreal experience. We got lucky with a killer setlist and they didn’t miss a beat. Some of the best performers I’ve ever seen, unlimited love for the RHCP! <3

Red hot chili peppers, self explanitory

by Bryce on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

We managed to secure some floor tickets and it was simply amazing. Red hot chili peppers know how to rock! Luckily we arent short so were able to see over the sea of heads, but id recommend for anyone under 6ft to probably look for some seats with elevation to get a unobstructed view. The sound was fantastic, lighting, everything. It was just an all around great show!

    Awesome band, horrid venue

by Greg on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

Band was absolutely on fire, visuals were amazing. Music was awesome BC Place is a disaster. 35 minute lines to use a washroom. People fighting and smoking in the bathrooms. 40 minutes to get a beer, bartenders pouring cans into cups to create more plastic waste

    Best concert experience ever

by Toontown on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

Sounded amazing! I went in thinking if I don’t hear Under the Bridge I’d be disappointed but I wasn’t! But how do you not play Under the Bridge every single night? Only reason I gave 4 out of 5

    Delays but Amazing!

by Angela on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

Two opening bands made for a long time changing sets over but in the end the openers were great and it was all worth the wait and then some to see the Chili Peppers. They were amazing!!!! I have waited many years to get to see them and they were even better than I had hoped. I will see them again if they come back, no doubt! 🤙

    Fantastic!

by spudwil on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

Great show. They didn’t play Dark Necessities and a couple other favourites but they have such a huge portfolio that they can’t do them all at every show.

    Amazing!

by My Wicked Queen on 2023-04-02

Love this band! Had an awesome time. RHCP never disappoints. One giant party. Great set list. Trippy light show. The band was on point and kicked ass. We had floor tickets up front and centre. Can’t wait to see RHCP again! BC Place staff were super friendly but didn’t manage floor exit gate very well. Could have turned dangerous if crowd surged.

    not what we expected

by kn on 2023-04-02BC Place - Vancouver

I really like red hot chili peppers and was looking forward to an entertaining and expectedly wild concert - it was neither of these things. I thought the instrumentals and vocals sounded really great but there was really no show. They did not end up playing many of the popular songs and spent a fair amount of time on guitar riffs. It seemed like they really enjoyed being together and playing as a band which was awesome, but I was expecting a bit more of a show from the iconic band that literally set Woodstock on fire. I am glad we went but felt a little disappointed when it was over.
