Red Hot Chilli Peppers on Tour

To many, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are more than just a Los Angeles rock band from the '80s -- they're musical pioneers who took the world by storm with their eclectic blend of funky, alternative punk rock laced with hip-hop that sounded unlike anything anyone had heard before. The band first formed in Los Angeles in 1983 and quickly gained a following large enough to sell 300,000 copies of their debut self-titled album. Over the next few years, the band experimented with different musical genres and went through lineup changes, proving themselves to be one of the most innovative and resilient rock groups in recent history. In 2022, the Grammy-winning band released Unlimited Love -- their 12th studio album and first one with original guitarist John Frusciante since 2006's Stadium Arcadium. Celebrating the release of the new album, the band hit the road for a global tour featuring all four original members -- vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and Frusciante.  Be sure to see this legendary ensemble back in action performing classic hits and new songs by grabbing tickets to see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in a city near you today.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers Live in Concert

In 1987, Red Hot Chili Peppers were named Band of the Year by LA Weekly, but the band really hit their stride with their fourth album, 1989's Mother's Milk, which cracked the Billboard 200 and went gold a year later. The RHCP had earned worldwide recognition by the time they dropped Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991). The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and the album's first single, "Give It Away," took off like wildfire, soaring to the top of the charts and eventually winning the band a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal in 1993. The album also featured the single "Under the Bridge," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- their highest-charting single to date. To promote what some might call the Red Hot Chili Peppers' magnum opus, 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, three of the era's biggest bands -- Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam -- joined the Blood Sugar Sex Magik tour as opening acts. Whenever it was time for the headlining set to come on, seeing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in concert would always feel like an invigorating burst of energy for all the people packed into sold-out stadiums. Their funk-rap breakdowns, animated stage presence, and minimal clothing attire offered relief from the brooding grunge of the punk-metal status quo. All in all, Blood Sugar Sex Magik was a tremendous commercial success, selling 12 million copies to date, cinching the #186 position on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 500 Albums of All Time, and winning three out of the seven MTV Music Award nominations it received.

The band made the Rolling Stone Top 500 list a second time with Californication (1999), their seventh studio album and most successful yet with 16 million copies sold. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers supported the album on tour for two consecutive years at sold-out venues across the world. The album lit a californi-craze for the RHCP that has burned steady since. The first live album, recorded during a 2004 Red Hot Chilli Pepper concert in Hyde Park, was the No. 1 event of the year on Billboard's Top Concert Boxscores with a record-breaking number of 258,000 fans and a total of over $17 million in tickets sold in the span of three nights.

Since then, they've been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2012), released a handful of more albums: 2006's Stadium Arcadium, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200; 2011's I'm With You, which hit No. 2; and 2016's The Getaway, which also peaked at No. 2.

    Excrutiatingly Hot

by BabaYaga on 2012-11-20Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

Wnated to see them ever since heard them first time as a teen. They were absolutely amazing, gave it all to it. Perfromed their best known songs, the scene itself was mind-blowing with all the screens and perfectly selscted videos. I only with Cagary would stop spending 20 millions for pedestrian bridges and construct a decent music arena instead; Saddledome gives you the crappiest sound, sepecially for rock music.

The title explains it all...... WOW!. Such a great concert, not once did it ever cross my mind that they are now 50. They still rock out like their are a bunch of teenagers, in my opinion! BUT EVEN BETTER.... You will not regret going to this concert. TWO THUMBS WAAAAY UP.

    RHCP show amazing

by Helimag on 2012-11-20Rogers Arena - Vancouver

As much fun as you can have with your cloths on! TRCP played all the songs we wanted to hear and wasn't disappointed with the quality and stage presence only I wish it would of been longer. Vancouver is a lame place to see a show though making it start too early and finish before its too late.

Age doesn't affect these guys. Flea's hand stand across the stage was amazing! The entire setlist was awesome as well. I hope they make another trip to Vancouver in the future. I'd go again!

by oklava on 2012-11-19Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This is the 4th time I have seen them live, and each time they make me love them more!! There are very few bands these days that deliver what their fans want - RHCP ARE ONE OF THEM!! They remember what made them where they are, and they play to entertain. Their stage show was UNBELIEVABLE!! State of the art technology. I will continue to go as long as they are performing. Thanks guys. Only thing I DIDNT LIKE- SEATING ON THE FLOOR. THAT SUCKS!! SHOULD BE GEN ADM

    Chili Peppers Rock Hard

by RawkMom on 2012-11-19Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I had never seen the Chili Peppers until Saturday night at Rogers Arena, and let's just say they were on my "to-do" list. A fan for many years, I'd always missed previous opportunities. I was totally psyched, and they did not disappoint. I don't think the performance they gave now, in their 40's and 50's, would have differed much from one I may have seen when they were in their 20's and 30's. Their energy level was over the top and their love their for what they do was obvious. The fans were on their feet and singing along for the entire show. The new album "I'm With You" hasn't sold as well as previous albums, which may be why they only played three songs from the album. Opening with Monarchy of Roses, they also played Rain Dance Annie and Look Around. I happen to love the new album and could have heard more, but you can't go wrong when playing the old favourites. I thought as I watching that when musicians come together and form a band it's almost magical when they gel the way these guys do. Simply put, they get each other. The new guitar player is a great fit. I don't plan on letting another opportunity to see them pass me by!

    Such a Strange Ending

by Collz on 2012-11-19Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I have to say that I was really lucky and my friend and I had good seats. However, the lowest point for me was a lack of a solid or proper ending. Anthony walked off stage while his band still played a few minutes longer...and what this did was create confusion for everyone in the crowd - we were all sitting there looking at each other wondering how could that be it? The show overall was energetic and fun - too bad they don't have enough time to play more of their biggest hits!

The RHCP played incredibly. The riffs performed by Flea is unbelievable. The Tony vocals and dances is very cool. And the powerful drum of Chad completes this amazing concert.

    Great performance

by RisaPisa on 2012-11-19Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This was my first time seeing RHCP live. I was expecting the show to be a little bit more rowdy, I guess because of the way RHCP presents themselves in their music videos. But it was very chill. Even the crowd was chill! Still, I loved this show and I would definitely go see them live again!
