Retro Futura Tickets

The concert was a great throwback to the 80's, however it was unfortunate that it was not well advertised and therefore was not as well attended as I would have hoped. The organizers should have moved venues to somewhere much smaller if they were seeing that the numbers were quite low. By holding it in a large stadium, there were tons of empty seats, which made the event seem that much less intimate. That said, the show and line-up was great however I also feel that they packed too much into the line-up. What ended up happening was that my favourite draws, the English Beat and Paul Young, were only given time to perform 4 songs, while Katrina (formerly of Katrina and the Waves) also performed 4 songs, and ended up doing covers to fill her time. Men Without Hats were given more time and yet they played Safety Dance twice and then did a cover of Abba's SOS. I would have preferred having 2 - 3 extra songs performed by English Beat and Paul Young given how many hits they each have. Scheduling could have been better for this reason.

We had so much fun at Meadowbrook dancing to Paul Young, The English Beat, Modern English, Men without Hats and Howard Jones. What a hoot! Loved the venue.

Really enjoyed this evening of music and was surprised at how well everyone still sounds! The set guys were great at switching out instruments for each act so the whole night ran smoothly with very little time in between acts. Our favorite was Men Without Hats whose voice was still amazing. Loved Safety Dance but with all their great music would have loved for them to play a different song instead of Safety Dance twice. Loved all the bands energy as they had everyone up and dancing and having a great time. Paul Young was probably our least favorite as there are some notes he just can't hit anymore but overall was a fantastic night out!
