    Roger still Rocks

by standinginline on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

To see an icon like Roger come to a small venue like the Commodore was simply amazing. He sang well, cracked on a few highs, but we forgave him easily! A true performer with a band that matched his enthusiasm! Fantastic experience!

    Rediculously wicked

    by wardo101 on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Oct 10 Roger Daltrey confirmed that his voice is still an instrument of astonishing power. Not only did he belt out song after song, but he did so with gusto and a carefree way. He seemed to be genuinely enjoying himself. Some singers rely on studio tricks to achieve the sound they want to be known for, not Roger, as unbelievably his voice sounded much stronger and more vibrant live than on the most recent Who disc. This guy is 64???? The band behind him were very accomplished musicians who played their parts to a tee. Great show, great fun and I think even Pete would have had a good time at this gig.

    Daltrey still has the pipes!!!

by hardy on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Roger Daltrey gave a straightforward performance that was honest and true to the songs that that he did.The integrity of the show was immediately evident by taking place in the fabulous Commodore, a venue sadly underused since the arrival of the tacky casinos.

    Roger Daltrey does Johnny Cash!!

    by 87sluggo on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Ring of Fire, along with Who Are You, Baba O'Reilly, Sqeezebox, Boris the Spider, I Can See For Miles........ 2+ hours, I was less than 30 feet from the stage, one of the best shows I've ever seen. Daltrey was as real a guy as could be, flubbing a couple of songs and starting over, joking around all night, shaking hands after the encore. Happy birthday, Simon!!!

    Almost a Great Show

by JeffG on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Roger Daltry gave a very personable professional performance last night. That said, most of us were there to "Who" it up and responded well to those tunes. His band was excellent with 5 singing very competent musicians. But it is early times and the rough edges, forgotten lyrics, and play list mix-ups were apparent. Roger's voice seemed in great form when he started (looks of he's still got it on Who Are You) changed to "oops that wasn't pretty" in some of the other songs. Hopefully the band get's it together and Roger finds the voice he is looking for prior to recording the next Who album.

Daltry an Honest, Hardworking & Humble Musician

by midnightjoker on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Daltry having such a huge selection of The Who material to sing, was HONEST right from the time he stepped up to the mic, telling us what the agenda was for the night. He was most certainly HUMBLE when he forgot the lyrics to a song, whereas many other artist would have muddled through, trying to either fool the audience with B.S. he shut it down, explained and started from the top again, asking for forgiveness in the process. Roger Daltry is without a doubt one of most HARDWORKING musicians I have had the pleasure of watching @ the commodore,he preformed the songs with energy of a much younger artist. He was clearly exhausted durring his set,but he would slow down the pace when required so he could deliver the songs that he is most associated with a 110% effort. Now the things that didn't go well last night The will call line procedure outside the venue needs to be improved , having people stand around for 90 minutes, not fun. just thankful it wasn't raining. The only sugestion that can offer is why not let people proceed directly to the will call window, where the identification can be confirmed and the transaction completed. In todays world of identy theft I don't think it's prudent to have multi copies of peoples names and corresponding credit cards numbers floating around, and then asking for your signature , in exchange for your wristband, is the final piece to proceed down that road of criminal activity.

    Who are YOU!

by PeterG on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Roger has the voice, the drive and most of all the ability to laugh at himself. There were a few miss-Qs and laughs during the show, but from the first song... Who are You - it was apparent that he has his vocal talent in spades. The crowd was into it from the first note and staed wrapt for the entire set, even the goofy "No Bears in Here " encore that I fealt was the only dud. A fantastic show and a real pleasure to see such an icon up close and personal.

    Roger Daltry

by ALBOW on 2009-10-11Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The show was amazing. It was like having the Who right there in your living room with Roger's own tweek to a few of the songs. The venue holds only 1200 people and we were only a few feet away from him. The sound was good and he played some really old Who songs, some of which he has never played live. He dedicated a few songs to Johnny Cash, The Cheiftans, (keltec) and his old pal John (Boris The Spider). Roger, thanks!
