This is the 4th time we've seen Roger and the incredible orchestra! We were a bit disappointed this time because there were a lot fewer Supertramp tunes. It's advertised as "formerly of Supertramp" so you would expect more of those songs with a few others tossed in. All in all he does put on a great show and you just can't beat the venue! Casino Rama is awesome!
Rodger as always, provides a great show for his audiences at every show he does. The music, the songs, and the orchestra is always a huge bonus. Great memories carried on from the by gone years. For those who would see him for the first time or like us several times. It is the same result. A great evening of genuine true entertainment. From a genuine true down to earth great entertainer. All of which is complemented by a fantastic group of musicians. Was an overall fantastic night as all would expect. TY......John Martin
I enjoyed the show so much it's amazing the way he plays the different instruments, the orchestra band in the background was unbelievable great show would recommend it in a heartbeat.can't wait for him to come back to Rama definitely going back to see him he's inspirational lol
Very intimate show! Roger placed everyone in a private show that was easy to listen to! What a great musical evening! Bravo!!!
Don't miss the chance to see Roger's live performance. It was an amazing and unforgettable night for my wife and I. The band played more than two hours of greatest collection of Roger's music from Supertramp and his solo albums. Definitely I will go to his future concert in GTA.
We saw Roger at Rama on Friday November 11, 2016. The show was phenomenal. He was so personal with us. Every song was introduced by a story of what the song meant to him or why he wrote it. He also played all my favourites. Will definitely go see him again. Talented musicians, especially the man playing the wind instruments who was from London, ON.
Always good to hear the hit songs from Supertramp,Roger was very crowd pleasing, smart and intellectual, the Orchestra was very good and his band were very good, especially the band member who played sax, flute and harmonica, plus backup vocals, very impressive. I'm a big Rock n Roll fan,so what I found missing was good old Rock n Roll, replaced by an Orchestra, enjoyable but not the same.
Rodger Hodgson is simply one of the most gifted musicians of our time. He is engaging and to down to earth as he genuinely connects with his audience. He has remained such a nice guy even though he had a career larger than life. He says this gig is a reunion for him and we totally feel that too each year. Will do not want to miss him perform each and every year. The orchestra and all the musicians are magic and that Erin is beyond multi talented. Best night out for some of the best music that was ever written and composed. Thank you Roger !
What a show again! It was our fourth time, and I think it was the best yet. The band sounds so amazing. Each one is so talented and such a joy to watch. Having the full choir, and orchestra just sends the event over the top. We will be going again.
it is a good venue., quite big.. organization was really good.. and indeed the performance was amazing.
He was kind and talkative to the audience which I just love and his voice he still got it
I have seen the same show numberous times and the set list is similar all the time but the energy of the crowds and the band is always at the top!
My dad took me to the Kingston show because I'm too young for his Casino Rama show. I am so happy I finally got to see Roger Hodgson! His show was amazing!
Couldn't have had a better time reliving memories of Roger Hodgson's amazing career. The crowd was enthralled the whole evening long. The band was engaged and perfectly in sync with each other, truly enjoying performing for us all. It's been a while since I've left a concert feeling so well entertained and I'd be back for a second helping should his tour come our way again. Outstanding performance!
We all enjoyed Roger Hodgson. The musical arrangements were just incredible. We don't have musical collaborations like Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) this day and age. Loved our Canadian members of the group. The gentleman from London was simply amazing.
Best concert in a long time. Roger Hodgson appeared to be a "gentle" man. His interaction with the audience was amazing. The lights would turn up enough so Roger could see the crowd as he spoke to them. He sounded just like you were listening to his recordings. The entire band was awesome. The energy that came from the band poured out to the audience, I don't think anyone there would have had a negative thing to say. I would definitely see him again if he returns to Kingston. Phenomenal concert!
Supertramp was always known for its meticulous attention to detail- sound, lights, precise arrangements and dynamics - in their live shows. Roger Hodgson proved that 33 years after his final Supertramp tour he has not lost that focus. Sure he can't quite hit the super high notes with the power he once did but he still hits them. His warm personable banter made it feel like sitting in his living room sipping on a hot tea. The band showed superb musicianship and vocals especially multi-instrumentalist Aaron MacDonald from London Ontario. His set relied heavily on the Supertramp catalog but there were several that were not and those may have been the best of the set. Of course the expected encores of Give A Little Bit and It's Raining Again were nostalgic magic and the Kingston crowd roared its deserved approval. It was a very very good show.
Roger and his band members did an outstanding performance. We very impressed by Aaron MacDonald, one of his musicians from London Ont. What great memories of the famous Supertramp years! Thank-you!
Darn you Roger and Aaron! It is hard enough to compete for the love of my wife with Roger's crooning of our favourite songs, but adding Aaron MacDonald to the mix?... Woe is me... all is lost! Crisis? What Crisis? We remember that fateful night at Casino Rama when Aaron stopped Roger in his tracks mid-song, with Roger remarking to the audience, "Now look what he made me do!" (or something to that effect). Fast-forward 10+ years and several performances later (yes... we can't get enough of Roger) and here we are at the Ottawa NAC and Roger, Aaron and the band have us light-tripping down memory lane again. The concert... nay... the "intimate" performance was pure Roger... big smile, big heart, big sound and filling us with the same. These are the songs we grew up to... in my case, in Frobisher Bay (now Iqaluit) in Canada's arctic. Roger's songs have seen the passage of time, milestones in the personal human experience and, sadly, the passing of many good friends. But... his music binds us...keeps us whole... revives our fading memories and reminds us that we were once young... so full of hope and naively immortal. This is our fix. We will come whenever Roger beckons, as long as his wondrous voice and amazing digits and limbs can perform the magic that has inspired us for decades. We also recognize how much Roger gives up of himself, one piece at a time, to continue to share with us his poetry and song and... we appreciate it... even in the quietest moments.
