Listening to Roger Hodgson you wouldn't know that any time has gone by at all. He has the same fantastic voice and musical skill that he did back in the Supertramp days. It was a pleasure to be at this show. The atmosphere was fantastic and the show thoroughly enjoyable.
Both my husband and I enjoyed the concert immensely as did everyone at the venue with lots of standing ovations. Thank you Roger for playing our favourite hits, money well spent for an entertaining evening.
He played ALL the hits and some I hadn't heard before that were terrific. He said that we could leave the world and worries outside the doors and just spend time together listening to some music and enjoying ourselves - and we did! Such a wonderfully kind man. And Aaron MacDonald is a sight to behold! Oh boy! Made my heart race. :)
Best show we have seen a long time!! Great performance all around sound was super and he has a great rapport with the audience.
This is the second time I have seen Roger Hodgson in this format. It is so very intimate and wonderful that you feel like you are both in a room and he is just telling stories. His voice has stood the test of time. What a warm and gentle soul.
My wife and i attended a very intimate concert where Roger made us feel like friends performed an amazing collection of his unforgettable songs. We had an amazing evening and highly recommend seeing Roger.
I've seen Supertramp in the late seventies. I've seen Rick Davies as Supertramp without Hodgson and now I have seen Hodgson. Hodgson's show beats them all. I loved the tribute to the late John Lennon.
The show was phenomenal. Sounds the same as before. Was very down to earth and connected with the audience. Very appreciative of fans. Venue is very comfortable and intimate.
He still hits the notes, very personable entertainer, such a great show..great sound! Great lighting! Very well done, in my top 3..
The best show I have seen. Roger and his band are polished pros. The music was excellent as was the sound. I was very impressed with his rapport with the audience. As a long time Supertramp fan I was not disappointed hearing the music live for the first time. Can't wait to them again...
Ive seen Roger on many occasions, and as stated above.....it was a fantastic performance!
This is yet the best concert I've seen. What an amazing group of musicians and Roger is a really sympathetic person with great interaction with is audience. I would go see him again in a heartbeat. The sound was excellent, best venue.
Roger played flawlessly for 2 1/2 hours. Played with passion and feeling throughout, and his voice is almost as good as 35 years ago. The band was fabulous. (Bass player should bet more recognition.)
I took 4 friends along with my wife to see Roger Hodgson at the River Rock in Richmond, BC. I'd last seen Roger November 22, 2006 at the Orpheum Theater in Vancouver with my brother. (Where did all those years go?) Roger appeared in 2006 with only an extremely talented gent from Ontario (sorry I forgot his name) on various wind instruments (Sax, Flute, etc.) and they were superb together but both my brother and I "missed" the lack of Drums & a Bass Guitar to "fill out" the sound. Well, that was no problem at the River Rock last Saturday Night! The Band was now complete and all were in fine form. Roger played a lot of his past hits with Supertramp (I saw them ages ago in Vancouver too!) and quite a few from his "Open the Door" solo Album that was recorded in France. A great time was had by all. Roger came back for two encores (a second encore is almost unheard of at these venues!) and had the audience enthralled right until the end of the show => almost 2 hours non stop since it began. Definitely a top 10 experience and well worth going! (My wife & friends even got a little gambling in after the show.) (There really isn't a bad seat in either the River Rock Theater or it's twin - the Hard Rock Theater in Coquitlam.) These venues seat only 1,000 people and it's an amazing place to see these incredible talents.
Standing Ovation at the moment Roger took the stage! There was an exodus from the seats during Breakfast in America (about 5-6 songs in, if I remember rightly); the pit area was full of fans for the rest of the evening. The atmosphere was really comfortable and joyful; it was like hanging out in Roger's living room. Band was super tight (made up of 2 Americans & 2 Canadians. One dude played one of those blowy keyboard deals. That was awesome.) Opened with Take The Long Way Home, which surprised me - figured it would be placed closer to the end of the main set. Best song performed was a solo tune I'd never heard before, called Death and a Zoo (from the 2000 album Open the Door, which I now own). Awesome show! FYI - You can get signed CD's and vinyl at the merch table!
Saw Roger last time he was in town and was blown away. Didn't think he could possibly be any better this time, but he was!!!
Wow!! I've seen a lot of rock shows over the years but hadn't seen Roger Hodgson before and he blew my sox off!! A great show by a great talent. And Aaron with his various soulfull horns added to the experience. I can't wait for another visit by this amazing band.
The music was Beautiful and each time l go to that building (name change, reason for calling it a building!) l have a great time. Roger Hodgson and his Band made that 'building' shake, with everyone singing and a few people dancing! LOVED every moment!
Great man and great music! From the heart ans his soul. You touched me. :-)
