This was the first time I saw Rush and I had a great time. The sound was great and so was the crowd. I liked the intro and post intermission movies that Rush made fun of themselves with and of course, loved that they played Moving Pictures in it entirety. I was pleasantly surprised at the diversity of the setlist they chose with picks off of albums i didn't expect like Counterparts and Test for Echo. All in all I had a great time I will do my damnedest to see them again next time.

About
RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

RUSH Time Machine Tour 2011

Rush Still Resonates!
by larrman on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Well, what can you say about a band that has been pumping it out for 40 years with the same lineup ?Even with massive expectations Rush exceeded them. There are precious few groups who have managed to carry on with the exact same lineup for that length of time and also very few who can still fill a venue the size of Rogers Arena. When it comes down to sheer musicianship there are none who compare and this concert, complete with great staging that was somehow retro and futuristic at the same time along with very entertaining film segments showed that Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neal Peart are better than ever. On top of all of this, the set list ,which included all of "Moving Pictures" and other gems new and old was killer .
Fantastic yet again
by kerb on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5This is the third show I've seen on the tour between 2010-11. As always, Rush didn't disappoint. The playing was top-notch and the sound quality was good in Roger's arena. I would have liked to have been a little closer, but had a problem getting the right pre-sale password the day the tickets went on sale. No matter, they rocked and will now be taking a well-deserved rest and then finishing the Clockwork Angels album. I've heard another tour could be in the works for next year. Bring it on, I'll be there!!!
We came, we saw, we were ROCKED!
by Takeda on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Seeing Rush in concert was truly the high point of the year for us. Not only was it a wonderful concert but what better way to treat ourselves for our 10th wedding anniversary. They kept us all rocking and cheering for almost three hours with only a short intermission. The videos they showed, light-show and pyrotechnics were really stellar. The security was sufficient without being oppressive but issues were rare and dealt with appropriately. Seeing each of them go 'off' on a major solo was a highpoint for me ... Neil Peart's drum solo was truly mind-blowing.
Rush was amazing again
by vanmacguy on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5The only problem with a Rush concert is that they're always better than the last one. That's not to say that there was anything wrong with the last one, but they just keep getting better. For a band that's only just older than me and have been doing this for 35 years, that's saying something. They really seemed to be having fun on this tour. Alex and Geddy were up to their usual hi jinks but Geddy was really into the crowd at Rogers Arena. He was hamming it up for us on stage left. Given my seat which was row four on the very end, I couldn't see much of what Alex was up to but I did see him laughing a lot of the time. The lighting was great and there were a lot more pyrotechnics than I remember from previous shows. The crowd was a complete cross-section too. It seemed that the older fans were all where I was down in front, I thought that it was because only the older people could afford the ticket prices for the VIP section, but the stands had young guys, young girls and lots of other types too. Anyway, I can't wait for the next one. Someone said they were going to finish the album later this year and tour again to promote it next year. If memory serves me, we probably won't see them in Vancouver next year, they only seem to come here every second tour. So I'll just have to travel to see them next year. Great, great show.
sound was terrible, unacceptable
by Devoid on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5The sound was the worst I have ever experienced at a concert. We were sitting high up but centred. There is no excuse for such bad sound.Especially as they are a professional band with many years of experience playing in large venues. All I could hear was the kick drum. All the bass and guitar sounds were inaudible. Bass and guitar solos were drowned out. I could see that they would have been amazing if only I could have heard them. What a shame. Everyone I spoke to young and old were disappointed. We have been at Roger's Arena before (Roger Waters) and had immaculate sound.
Real musicians = real good time!
by Jofromwestvan on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5So nice to see a band that has survived over 40 years or rocking and are stilling smiling when singing their oldies but goodies. Rush rocked the house, Geddy sounds just like he does on the radio. I was not really a fan before and sure am now. Very impressed with the whole show, as a female, I enjoyed the sausage references on stage and could tell they really know their fan base.
bad sound loud drunks
by maxine00902 on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5Rush what a let down... Hubby loves the band but walked out...Drunks everywhere..
RUSH was unstopable
by rockstar18 on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5they played like they were still 20, never missing a beat, having fun, wowing the audience over and over again. The videos were hillarious, the music was fantastic. It's absolutely amazing what three men in a band can do over and over again and not get tired. You can tell they love what they do and they are super at it. Would love to see them again. Truly memorable and fablous show. The two new songs off their album whenever it comes out will be just as great as the rest of their music has been. The energy they had wore me out!
Amazing drum solo!!
by prwilsoninteriors on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Three amazingly talented Canadian musicians who wowwed the crowd. Big, full sound for only three musicians and bang on! Loved it!
Rush is a Super Group
by pabr on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5The whole performance was a marvel - from the unusual introduction and segue into the dramatic entrance of the band - lights, sound and effects were beautifully coordinated with the music. We loved the mix of old songs, especially when the crowd could sing along, and new songs with words on the screen - it was a great show!
Rush Time Machine tour
by shawnigin007 on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5Great concert, played all their hits ,good variety of filmclips, that was fun. I found the bass from the speakers to be somewhat too heavy for me though and therefore distorted the overall performance.
What a RUSH !!!
by sookefan on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! Could it be that they just get better and better? Loved every moment of the concert.
Unreal
by rnb2112 on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5A near perfect show. The guys were on and the music was amazing. I would have changed a couple songs but no the experience. They are incredible musicians and performers. I'd go see them again any chance I could.

- by popcornman on 2011-07-04Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5
Excellent value, Rush played for nearly 3 hours. Focused on the music, not so much of a stage show , which is good.
Rush Vancouver- wow
by Aligirl2000 on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Long time fan - first time seeing Rush live. They did not disappoint. The sound could have been a tiny bit better at Rogers Arena but never the less in the top 2 concerts I have seen. Had a blast - the boys were bang on and managed to put a new twist on old faves. Would see them again in a heart beat. Almost went to Seattle to see the final show on the tour!!! But common sense prevailed... Oh my age is showing.... Well done boys! Thanks for a wonderful birthday!
Rush better than ever!
by kyddgloves on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5Best Rush show I've been to (and I've been to a lot in the last 30+ years). Saw them in Las Vegas last week and they were excellent but the Vancouver show kicked the Vegas shows ass!

Best light-show, best stage-show, best music! These guys still rock eh!
