About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

The energy level was terrific. Loved it! Will probably go if and when they come again. The light show was pretty spectacular. The t-shirt line-up was rediculous. Needed more vendor areas.

  • RUSH were awesome...and funny

by RockstarArtist on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Wow. No wonder they are considered one of, if not, the greatest power trio of all time. They are all masters of their instruments. Incredibly tight. Surprisingly self-deprecating and very funny with the self-made/self-mocking video montages. And...whoa...over 3 hours of music! I had a blast.

  • A Time Machine of Hard Working Men

by Python46 on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

From 'All The World's A Stage' to 'Time Machine' The show was a masterpiece of technical sound, song and sight. Never will anyone ever be as tight and precise as Neil Peart, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. Again, like so many other 70's concerts, in 1976 Rush came to Kitchener Ont.. I was 13 and I paid my 4 dollars to see All The World's a Stage. At age13 I went alone. I would go alone to all the concerts. I worked and went to school. I am a Hard Working Man. 1977, Rush came back and I saw the same show again. I was blown away. Grace under Pressure, 1984. I was shocked to see Alex had cut his hair. Looks good short. Wait a minute, I cut mine too. I was in The Canadian Navy now. Too many years had passed. Like the shows back then, now I have to be front, VIP. A recent injury at work has partially disabled me, but I'm not dead yet!. What a show. The Video in the beginning is perfect. The history of RASH. I love the time machine. Then the real history of RUSH. They picked the perfect album to cover. Moving Pictures will always be one of my all time favourites. It was cool to see the time clock change between eras. Everyone was on the edge of their seat to hear which song was going to be played next. I was lucky to sit with some guys who played Golf with Alex the day before. More guys from Ontario. The German connection was perfect too. Kitchener is the Octoberfest Capital of Canada and I'm half German. What can I say. From a Super Fan's perspective it was more than I could have ever asked for. My expectations for music excellence has risen another notch, RUSH you have risen to a plateau no one will ever be able to climb. You made it look too easy. We all know it was Your Hard Work and Love of the Music and Fans that makes you do it all. The staff at Rogers Arena were all excellent as always. Michelle thanks for the Setlist. RUSH, Thanks for the last 40 years, Come back again soon.

  • RUSH was a rush!

by AJ044 on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, RUSH was a spectacular show. Did not disappoint. We saw them last year in Las Vegas and were great as well. It was nice to see them back in Canada. They have a wonderful sense of humor as per the video. They are a classic and will go down in history as one of the best bands over the years. And high notes were still hit even after all these years. Very enjoyable.

  • Rush: Time Machine - Vancouver June 30th, 2011

by CBinCgy on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

When this tour opened, I awaited eagerly, the opportunity to see Rush in my home town of Calgary. As time marched on, it was apparent that I would have to travel to see them, so earlier this year, once it was announced they would be playing Vancouver, I purchased two tickets online and booked hotel and flights for myself & my girlfriend. Arriving at Rogers arena, I noticed the aura was a bit different. I had seen this band in 2007 following the release of their 'Snakes and Arrows" album and what I witnessed at that time was the typical crowd.. Mostly male, die hard.. many sporting a kufi headdress, an item consistently worn by Neil, the drummer of this band. The crowds in Vancouver were a mix of both genders, not unlike what one would expect at a Motley Crue or Guns & Roses concert. They were wound in anticipation.. Chatter in the crowds suggested that there was one or two people in each clique that were those die-hard fans, with groups of newbies, curious to see what all the hype was about.. The movie, the fan following, the musical complexity.. One die hard fan exclaimed "Chicks at a Rush concert!! this is so cool!".. Sat to my right was my girlfriend, to my left.. a fellow similar to my own age and his daughter.. perhaps 13 to 15.. As the arena darkened, we were entertained with a filmed presentation of the band members as characters in a diner, in which a body-suit rotund Alex Lifeson brings out a time machine, propelling the crowd back in time to the 1980 hit "The Spirit of Radio" at which time, the crowd stands, singing.. The girl with her father to the left standing, singing while her father remained seated.. it was apparent that in fact it was her curiosity that brought them here... rather than his influence. As the music transitioned to some more forgotten material, many took their seats while others remained on their feet. The crowd was re-energized with the end of the first half featuring Free Will, Marathon and Subdivisions played with meticulous accuracy at one point with Geddy Lee, the bands prolific bass player ending a song with bass lines that were truly admirable followed at the end of the song with the apology that some times he gets carried away.. a great moment.. The second half of the show sustained the crowd energy with the entire album "Moving Pictures" with the fitting ending phrase "Everybody's got to elevate from the norm.." The band presented a new release followed by a solo by Neil Peart, the band's legendary drummer.. who's talent, rather than igniting the crowd with flashy theatrics, had them transfixed on his talent ending with a blazing rendition of a jazz classic, a tribute to Buddy Rich, again igniting the crowd. The band sustained the excitement with 2112, the 2007 hit "Far Cry" and returned for an encore including "La Villa Strangiato" in which Alex Lifeson showcased his remarkable guitar work.. Incredible.. Rush showcases a thought provoking message in a variety of different packages that can appeal to anyone. The die hard, the curious new fan and even the ones that were dragged to a night out were thoroughly entertained. It's evident that the younger generation were more pivotal in dragging their parents out to this show indicating that perhaps that this band was way beyond it's time and that their message resonates louder in the mind of youth today than it did 30 plus years ago. Kids are turning their parents on to this band rather than the other way around.

  • sound man should be ashamed

I have seen Rush on two past tours and enjoyed the shows. All the shows have been at the same venue but this time the sound was terrible. I enjoyed the stage show and setlist but found it difficult to discern any lyrics even for my favorite songs as the sound was so poorly mixed.

The show was amazing! What more can I say? Who comes on stage and opens the show with their biggest song? Rush does! Who plays for 3 hours? Rush does! Who has a super focused, totally amazing drummer? Rush does! I will remember this show for many years :)

  • Rush, forgettable

  • Getting Better With Age

by Auralfix on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible. Exciting. Visually Stunning. Superb Musicianship. Some nice surprises Drawing mainly from AFTK on. Reworked versions of Working Man and Closer to the Heart breathed new life into those classics. Highlights for me were La Villa Strangiato, Freewill, Stick It Out, and side two of Moving Pictures, although the "hits" from side one sounded fresher and more energetic than they have sounded in years. I recommend anyone to see this show and take your kids. I would never recommend anyone trek to Vancouver to see any show, as the audiences are either too stoned or too jaded to create much energy for any band I've seen here. If you follow your favorite bands from show to show, skip Vancouver.

  • Rush was amazing!!!!!
