About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • Simply Incredible

by 6brandon6 on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

One of my favourite bands of all time, Rush, performed one of the best shows of my young 17-year life. Of course, I'll have chances to witness great concerts in the future, but this one sits among the golden of golds of live shows. The short video clips before they first came on and after the break were great to watch and set up the show to come nicely. Seeing Neil Peart as a very very fat man and Geddy Lee with a moustache was pretty cool. Alex Lifeson as a cop didn't get too many times though.... The performance itself was unforgettable: they were energetic, entertaining, funny, and simply loved playing for the crowd. Set list was awesome, they played some oldies like Working Man, 2112, and Time Stands Still and some newer songs, like BU2B and Far Cry. The entirety of Moving Pictures was played, something as incredible as that I will probably never witness again in live music. Tom Sawyer was amazing and I really loved YYZ. Peart's lengthy drum solo was astounding to watch, the dexterity and coordination mixed with sheer power. Unbelievable. And he did it so coolly. 3 and a half hours of pure Rush gold, I might never see a concert as fantastic as the Time Machine Tour 2011 visit to Vancouver, BC, 06.30.11.

  • excellent!!

I loved the show, it was great to see such an outstanding Canadian rock group. I wished the show would not have ended. My only complaint was I wish the music would have been a bit louder.

  • RUSH is always tops live!!!

by SMBDragon on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

These guys have the best special effects of any band I've ever seen. I have seen all the major bands and then some, but these guys are the top each and every time I've seen them (3Xs).

  • What a Rush!

The sound was great, the show was great. Some good effects and film shorts. Impeccable timing.

  • Sound

by edthewrench on 2011-07-03Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

I waited a long time to see these great Canadian musicians. The show was good, but the poor rating comes from a very poor sound system. I have been a number of concerts at Rogers Arena all with excellent sound no matter where you were seated . The sound tech should be sent packing after this concert, Way too much base and low end volume. It was hard to distinguish between instruments in the band. Very, very disappointed!!!!!!!!!

  • RUSH better than ever

by JulyStudio on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Each member of the Trinity is great; Alex with his virtuoso guitar picking; Geddy with his guitar, voice and synthesizer; and Mr. Peart ... some kind of parallel drumming universe.

  • Rush would have been awesome.

by Devoid on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

Rush needs to fire its sound men. The concert would have been fantastic if it had been possible to hear anything besides Neil Peart's kick drum. Literally - that was all that was audible. I was watching Geddy Lee play incredible notes - I am a bass player so I could SEE that he was playing terrifically. but I could not hear a note of it. When Alex Lifeson played an acoustic piece and segued into the opening to "Closer to the Heart" it sounded great. but as soon as the drums began, I could hear nothing more - except the damn kick drum. Sorry folks. Much as I appreciate the continued tradition of great musicianship by all three members of the band, I would love to have my money back. I have been to other concerts in that venue and sat in the exact same spot and experienced immaculate sound. There was no excuse for the poor quality.

  • Rush Concert at Vancovuer June 30th

by Fillmore on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I was in row 29 back from the stage on the floor. Very talented musicians , all members of Rush. The on-stage screen images of the band members and graphic videos were crystal clear. The audience covereda wide age spectrum. Everyone was no stop totally involved in each song perform by the group. This was my first Rush concert. Very impressed overall.

Lots of energy and lots of great hits all night. Neil delivers an unbeatable drum solo and Geddy lays it down all night long.

  • RUSH

by lollydrummer on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Started a little slow in the beginning and worried us a bit, but definitely rocked the second half. Very talented three musicians. Amazing drum solo of course. Funny and interesting films on screen. Excellent light show.

  • The best concert I ever went to in my life.

by Rockman101 on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The Rush concert was unbelievable and unforgettable. They are purely one of the best bands in the world. I really loved the special effects they had and they also had awesome light effects. Neil Peart has once again proved why he is one of the best drummers in the world. His solo was outstanding. Geddy Lee was phenomenal. He played 3 instruments at once. And Alex Lifeson was also great. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and one i will never forget.

  • No Better Musicians than RUSH!

by irishmon on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This is the best RUSH concert of the 15 I have seen. The Time Machine Tour was a good cover of songs across their four decades of recordings. All 3 are incredible musicians. Neal Peart is a fallen angel from the DRUM gods. The tightest band in rock I have ever heard.

  • RUSH Time Machine was excellent!

by DisapointedInVancouver on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 5th Rush concert, my previous one being during the Hemispheres tour (1981). The band is still top notch, even after 40 years! Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart are still the best musicians in rock. Even my son, who is a classical music composer, who came with me along with his girlfriend, an opera singer, both enjoyed this "rock concert". They find Rush to be a refreshing change to the standard, easy chord rock that you hear on the radio. They enjoyed the complex orchestration, and the elaborate lyrics. The sound was great, the light show phenomenal! I'll continue going to Rush concerts as long as the boys from Willowdale are willing to continue touring. Thanks guys for a great show in Vancouver!

  • Still Got it Going on

by Anonymous on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Rush didn't miss a beat! This concert was a tribute to their fans. I never imagined I'd see the Moving Pictures album played sequentially and it was fantastic. What an awesome show!

  • awesome!!!

I 'm really sure Rush is the greatest band in the world.

  • still got it going on

by BigAl11 on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed the concert and the fact that 40 years later, these guys are still at the top of their game and musicianship - enjoyed the videos also. Just thought that at the end of the encore to see Alex and Neal rush off the stage to leave Geddy to say goodnight was a bit unprofessional. The three of them arm in arm getting their due accolades and standing ovation at the end of the show would be more fitting and only a few more minutes

  • What a Rush!

by Anonymous on 2011-07-02Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The first half was a little slow but boy did they pick it up! Always an enjoyable concert to be apart of.

  • Drummer and band tight as always
