About

RUSH took rock music into uncharted territory and to unmatched heights fueled by the once-in-a-lifetime interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). Selling over 45 million albums worldwide, garnering seven Grammy Award nominations, tallying billions of streams, and earning induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the pioneering trio’s incalculable influence has spanned generations, attracting one of the most ardent audiences in history. These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock without boundaries, striking a balance between elite instrumentation, anthemic vocals, provocative lyricism, and timeless storytelling both sonically and thematically. RUSH notably achieved “the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band behind only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.” Furthermore, their accolades have included becoming Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, achieving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and receiving recognition with both a star on the Canada Walk of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The world tragically said goodbye to Peart on January 7, 2020 following his battle with brain cancer. Honoring Peart and the legacy the band had forged together, Lee and Lifeson celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026. It’s a moment for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all of its glory and another chance for the group’s faithful fanbase to rally again.

  • Rush was unforgettable!!!!

    by 01Fan on 2013-07-29Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 5 out of 5

The Rush concert was cancelled at the Scotiabank Saddledome and rescheduled at the Red Deer Centrium, a much smaller venue. But what a great choice that change was. The acoustics were awesome and the band had the crowd into the songs. In spite of the fact that they were one hour late due to technical difficulties (which were never clarified), the crowd was eager to hear their music and most appreciative when they did hit the stage. And the band seemed to be happy to be there and you could tell that they were enjoying themselves too. And it was a charity concert with Rush donating their fee to the Alberta Red Cross for Flood Aid - how awesome was that. And just because it was a charity concert, they didn't cheap out and not play well, they were great.

  • Rush was explosive!!!!!

    by 1Montrealer on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Rush has endured through several generations of music lovers and on Friday night as they tried to blast the roof off Roger's Arena, it was easy to see why. They have evolved over the years from more simple concerts to full out presentations with fire, laser, explosions and a running video yet their music never changes. It is still a mind blowing yet riveting assault on the senses, rock as rock should be played. Their energy and sheer enjoyment of what they do is evident. A night to remember. A band that will live on.

RUSH is always an amazing show! A must see! While I found this time they played a lot from a more unknown catalog they are still the best live show on the planet....enough said. Check out posted videos of the show on various sites

  • Best Canadian Band Ever

by AxeHead on 2013-07-29Enmax Centrium - Red DeerRating: 5 out of 5

Alex the best guitarist, Neil the best drummer, and Geddy the best bassist in Canadian history and the boys showed why again on July 24. These guys rocked and played and were superlative. Never miss Rush if they ever come to town - the give a lesson in musicianship that most bands should take note of. Just Fantastic.

  • RUSH ROCKS!

    by YVR3 on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Only my 2nd time seeing Rush but again, they blew me away. Geddy is right - they are still improving as a band after all these years. Three hour show! great light/video show too. The string band they added in the 2nd set was cool. Not just visually, they added a neat texture to the sound.

  • Excellent musicianship... weak set list

by BadB on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

I have loved Rush since I first saw them in Vancouver back on the Permanent Waves Tour. I also saw them on Moving Pictures and Signals tours. I was really looking forward to see Rush again as I had heard from a friend who has seen them 13 times that they can still tear it up. Well I certainly wasn't disappointed by their showmanship or their instrumentation. These guys can play easily as good or better now than they could back in the 80's. Neil Peart proved why he is the best drummer of all time. He did 2 solos that were like music. He flows so perfectly that you couldn't help but appreciate the time he spends not only playing his solos, but composing them. Alex and Geddy were spectacular musically. They played with precision and look like after 40 years they are still having a blast up there. My only criticism would be the set list. I was really looking forward to hearing some of the classic songs. I know that they are promoting a new album (which I do like) but couldn't help but feel a little let down that they skipped so many songs. I also think that if they had mixed in a few older songs with the new album that it would have kept a lot of people more interested. I found the last half of the first set and 3/4 of the second set were just not good enough song choices when they had so many others. Once they hit the last part of set 2 the crowd exploded. As soon as YYZ started everything changed. The show went from great to magical. I really believe that the reason is probably because Geddy just can't sing some of these old songs, so I have to at least give that consideration. I've heard that Closer to the Heart has been missing from their set for some time. But songs like Red Barchetta certainly could have been in the list and not having Limelight in the set was an utter failure IMO. They did play it in Halifax, so not sure about the rationale there. Even my friend who has seen them last year and so many times before that commented that this certainly was not Rush at their best. I will make a comment on the overall stage show. I didn't particularly think that the lighting or effects were very well executed. I don't think you really need to go overboard, but after seeing some other recent concerts (Coldplay) I felt that they could have done a better job of adding to the show with their lighting and effects rather than just switching a lot of colored lights and adding in a few explosions. It again wasn't until the finale that I felt the lighting really added to the show. The sound was a 6/10 for me. We didn't have the best seats, but I found it really boomy. The bass was over powering the rest of the band where I was sitting. I sat in a similar spot for Coldplay and didn't have any of this. In summary, I would definitely recommend Rush as a band to before you die. I went with 2 other friends who did not really know Rush that well and both were very entertained. Even people who are not big fans of their music would appreciate their live performance and come away impressed.

  • Always a great show

by Anonymous on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen these guys a dozen times, and they never fail to amaze. I go see them every time they come close to where I live.

  • Rush was awesome!

by Bowiesolo on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tickets to see Rush for my husbands 30th birthday. He is a huge Rush fan. I haven't heard much of their new stuff but that didn't matter. They played new songs, old songs, a little of everything. The lights and pyrotechnics were fun to watch and the videos they played on the screen were crazy and entertaining. I would definitely see them again when they come back to Vancouver :)

  • Rush: Seen them on 9 tours... this not their best.

by VeteranConcertFan on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I have seen Rush on 9 tours: every tour from Moving Pictures to Roll the Bones, and Clockwork Angels. Unfortunately, this show fell short of the Rush standard. Although their performance was outstanding, some of the song choices from the new CD were lack-luster. I would have preferred they perform the 3 or 4 strongest Clockwork tunes and present more of their classic songs. Even Geddy said, "now wee going to perform our older better tunes." The light show, compared to previous tours was less than impressive, and the KISS-like pyro was cheesy. On previous tours, Rush made very effective use of multi-coloured lasers and sophisticated lighting effects. This tour employed cheesy TV screens and excessively loud pyro that detracted from the music performance. The biggest disappointment was the sound that was over-overwhelmingly bottom heavy, thus masking the higher frequencies and creating an unpleasant muddy aural experience. I would recommend this tour only to Rush fans who have never seen the band before.

  • Rush was tight, polished and professional

by LaurieMc on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

You know you're getting old when having a band start and end on time is important to you, but it was, and they did! The did a great job - started with some older, recognizable songs, then played some pieces from their new album, and ended with their biggest hits. The crowd was made up of old rockers, young families, teenagers and everyone seemed to get along fine and a good time was had by all.

  • by jcalado on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

The first half of the concert was a bit boring!!!!

  • Rush was unbelievable

by PattyLynn on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

I love Rush and have followed them throughout their career. They are Impressive musicians and Getty Lee's voice was bang on. I would have loved to hear more of their popular music. A lot of the concert was to promote music I had never heard before and I do have their latest album. From that perspective I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. Would I go see them again? Hell yeah!

  • worth the wait

  • A goog time guarannteed for all

    by motd1964 on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best Rush concerts I have seen. Neil Peart was brilliant.

  • Boring Rush concert - played too much new material

by Grip on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

I was excited to see my first Rush concert ( here in Vancouver ). Rogers Center was buzzing with excitement. They started off great with Subdivisions, and the crowd was into it, but it slowly got boring from there. Too many new songs or poor arena show choices - killed the crowd enthusiasm. I have to admit though that the musical highlight for me was Alex's intro to Halo effect - incredible guitar. They played what seemed like the entire last album, and you could tell that people were falling asleep. My buddy who was beside me said he fell asleep 6 times. Geddy told the crowd that they will play old stuff at the end but that only 2 good songs. I was disappointed that they did not play Working man, but did not expect them too. I was hoping that they would play more songs that get the crowd into it as they did with Temples of Syrinx.

  • Rush Vancouver July 26

    by Movingpictures1981 on 2013-07-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Fantastic overall show. Clockwork Angels withn the symphony back up was an unexpected treat and it allowed the band to tone down the sound level to hear the string section and truly demonstrate the musical abilities of Geddy, Alex, and Neil. Set list was varied however missed out on arguably some of there better songs from the late 70's and early 80's.

  • awesome as usual

couldn't hear the bass enough where i was sitting, but a GREAT concert overall.
